The broodwar scene is constantly changing. A few short years ago, liquibition featured former greats such as ret, elky, and smuft. With these players a fading memory, and the liquibition title vacant, we turn to the next generation of players to show us some great games.
The next chapter of the liquibition saga features two American stars, currently in good form and training to compete in their upcoming WCG. There is a good chance these players will meet in the final tournament, so we here at TeamLiquid decided to set up a little preview of what is to come. I present to you Liquibition: Civil War.
IdrA vs iNControl
This weekend these two players will faceoff in a best-of-seven series to decide the early favorite heading into the WCG USA finals.

Denizen of the TL.net boards, iNControl is an experienced zerg player who first made his mark in another TeamLiquid event, TLT2. Since joining ToT, he has performed well in clan wars and never has a shortage of things to say. Lets get a few words...
- Name, age, sexual orientation (or race, whatever you prefer): Geoff, 21, zerg - Length of time on TL.net: 4 years now - Times banned on TL.net: 1 perm several temp w00t - Major accomplishments in BW: 4th TLT2, won a wcg preliminary came in second in another small tourney wins, ToT etc - Favorite unit in ZvT: Ultra - Favorite ability in ZvT: Hold lurkers - Favorite pro player, and why: Silver. Love his hydralisk micro early oneditors note - this guy won a liquibet season and likes silver? blech. - Best up and coming foreign player for each race, and why: Terran - IdrA. Has amazing talent and is able to train with the best. If he didn't have a stick up his ass he'd go for miles. Zerg - Whistler. This guy has made me a believer, really nice player. Protoss - Iefnaij. Came from 88 and is now recognized as one of the best, at 14. - Player who will take a game from a Korean in WCG: Testie - Player who will puke at a WCG party: Me - If you could have one player play a game of BW for your life, who would it be: Savior (irony?) - Chicken or Beef: I dunno I eat as much as small countries of both - Any shit talk about foreign Terran players: They all blow TvP and have attitude problems as a rule - Liquibition should be worth ___ liquibet points. Liquibition should be worth 7 liquibet points. - The last word is yours: Greg will fit in my backpack.
Idra is currently the highest ranked US player in GG.net's Player Database. He plays with clan Media and is also an outspoken participant on TeamLiquid. He is well known for his good strategy advice on the boards, and close friendship with Rekrul. IdrA, if you please...
- Name, age, sexual orientation (or race, whatever you prefer): Greg Fields, 18, terran - Length of time on TL.net: 3 years, 27 days - Times banned on TL.net: once - Major accomplishments in BW: winning one of the bw4ever tournaments, qualifying for wcg usa this year, wins/qualifications for other minor tournaments that aren't really worth noting(and that I've forgotten) - Favorite unit in TvZ: Marine - Favorite ability in TvZ: Irradiate - Favorite pro player, and why: Nada, if nothing else for his accomplishments, 6 starleagues over such a long time frame is absolutely incredible. His gameplay itself is amazing too, the perfect mechanics and the ability to make his own unique playstyle work. - Best up and coming foreign player for each race, and why: Kind of hard to say since there are alot of people starting to pop up but no one who's really distinguished themselves. For zerg I might say ut)maix, hes been around for a long time but hasn't done much yet. He swept his wcg and his zvt impresses me more than some well known zergs. All the new players are toss right now so its hard to pick one, ill say iefnaij since hes just started getting real attention. He plays very smart and is quite young so he has potential. as far as i know there are no up and coming terrans. - Player who will take a game from a Korean in WCG: Well, Testie has done it in each of the last 3 years, so he seems a good bet. - Player who will puke at a WCG party: Tasteless, assuming he goes (which he'd better) - If you could have one player play a game of BW for your life, who would it be: Nada - Chicken or Beef: Beef - Any shit talk about foreign Zerg players: They might want to try learning how to use defilers properly sometime. - Liquibition should be worth ___ liquibet points. 9, its definitely more important than osl finals. - The last word is yours: Thanks alot for inviting me to a showmatch with such a prestigious history. Hope we'll produce fun, entertaining games.
Prize
The winner of this event will have $50 donated to the American Cancer Society in their name. While many of you are young, and the reality of cancer seems far away, it is likely that cancer will affect you or someone you love in your lifetime. It has in mine. Click the spoiler to find out more about the American Cancer Society.
The American Cancer Society (ACS) is a nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, the ACS has state divisions and more than 3,400 local offices.
The American Cancer Society is making a difference every day in the lives of people touched by cancer. Your contributions help fund our programs of research, education, advocacy, and service, which are leading us toward our ultimate goal—the elimination of cancer. Every donation counts.
I encourage everyone to at least make themselves aware of charitable organizations, both big and small and on any issue, in their community. People that work and volunteer for these groups make a real difference in the world, and getting involved is truly rewarding.
There you have it. Games will be played next weekend and battle reports put up shortly after. Liquibet is up, so go vote!
its the final countdown, replays sure will be fun to watch. Inc looks way more sexy on his old gg.net pic, the one with the glasses and kinda mohawk hair ^
Goddamn, I remember playing with/against/obsing games with idra back when he was Idra[TmG] and he was a zerg player. I've been out of touch with the community/scene for 2 years and he's an amazing terran player in a TL.net showmatch!?
i play a mix. I play very straight up (especially comparing to old days) but I also mix in a 9pool, 1 hatch / 2 hatch or other forms of "cheese" or rush.
This will be hard. IdrA's best is TvZ and he is top outside korea except maybe 1-2 others who can make a case for being as good. My worst is ZvT and I am not nearly as active as I usually am. But I am practicing fairly hard and I have played IdrA many times before and won not just a few. Expect gg's and me doing my best to pull an upset
believe it or not scorp people don't have the option of choosing how they will look when they are born. I don't see why their appearance should have any revelance in a forum populated but pretty much only males.
I'm just wondering what Inc will say when I get mean on him for losing my 3 liquibet points. I cant have faith in him after he lost to Skew. Surprise me... and make it pleasant for a change.
oh shit oh shit oh shit this is going to be fucking epic my only worry is that inc often plays too aggressive, which wont work against idras defensive tvz. i hope he scales it back and we have some nice long games.
TL, can you report another news? anything??? last week or so have been depressing, opening TL home page and being bombarded by that pic of inCOtrol...at least put it under a spoiler tag or something

Sorry if this is a stupid question/been answered but I too was just wondering if this was going to be broadcast or anything like that? Anyway to watch it live? FPVODs?
Good luck to both of the players! (not fammilar enough with either players game so I cant put my bet on anyone, hope you give us a good show!)

No, the games are being played on bnet, and the replays will be released afterwards.
I was going to stream it, but couldn't get it all figured out in time. I volunteer to stream any and all matches in the future though, just let me know.
