We're into the second half of the GOM Ro32, and the quality games continue. This week we have some of the hottest Protoss's playing, as well as one of the youngest progamers out there. It should be very exciting!
Rock vs Bogus... the starleagues' most consistently bad player going up against the fifteen year old Terran. We've seen very little from Bogus outside of Gom, but his victories over Zergboy and FBH do say something for him. On the other hand, the fact that we haven't seen him in the PL yet is worrying. Rock, on the other hand, has been seen way too much of. He somehow miraculously makes it to each starleague, and then fails horribly. With that said, PvT is his best match-up, so he could pull it off.
Pepe vs Frozean is, unfortunately, not much better. Pepe must be one of the progamers with the worst records, and yet he took down July earlier in the tournament. Cuteangel is able to win slightly more often, but no consistency. Furthermore, TvT is his worst match-up. In the end I'd vote for Frozean, simply because he has a better record, and more experience with televised games, but it really can't be predicted.
The third match is a bit better. We have Stork taking on keke, in what should be a one-sided match. Keke has had an easy Gom route so far, only taking out Zero. However, he has had an upset victory over Best in the proleague recently, accounting for one of Best's three losses. Added to this, it seems like the GSL was made for upsets, with not a week going past without a surprise result coming in, so perhaps he has a chance. However, it is a very small chance...
The final game of the night, in what seems to be the trend in the GSL, is the big one. We have the Berserker Terran taking on MSL finalist, Jangbi. Iris is having a resurgence of sorts recently, making it to the Ro16 of the MSL, and going 4-2 in the PL. Furthermore, Iris has had tons of practise against top Protoss players, with series against Pusan, Bisu, and Kal, in the last three months. However, Jangbi has been close to unbeatable, losing only one of his last ten games. His PvT has looked failiable though, with fairly recent losses to Light and Mind, and dropping a game (out of three) to Shine. This match has the potential to be very tense.
With only one week left in the Ro32 after this, the results are getting more and more important. And with the favourites dropping one after another in upsets, chances are that we'll see some unexpected quarter and semi-finalists. So see you all on Sunday!
It looks like this round is really going to be deciding if the veterans can pull their own and show these newer pros whats up. The newer generation has been bombarding us with upsets while it seems the veterans have slowly but surely losing ground on them... Looks like from here on out were going to be seeing some very GG's. Great writeup!
MSL WINNER SPOILER DO NOT CLICK IF YOU STILL WANT TO WATCH IT
I really REALLY want Iris to win (prob my favorite terren after boxer), but he's going to be playing one of the top 3 PvTers on earth on a map pool that fucking sucks balls for TvP. I don't see him taking a single game
I'm so tired of Rock and FrOzean making it to the Ro16 in individual leagues only to get embarrassed time and time again. They need to let someone else take their turn in getting their asses handed to them - go pepe and Bogus!
AHHHH Bogus lost to Rock god damnit... he just gona lose again... He is playing Flash next... hmm I wonder who will win.. Kespa ranked #1 player FLASH or semi-decent/Semi-mumyung player theROCK ....
God the bisu fandom has gone through the roof in past 2 days >.>, I would take flash > bisu any day. Very exciting/interesting GSL season thus far, and theoretically, it should just get better .
Come on Jaedong... Get the Bonjwa juice flowing, they're catching up . Or better yet, skip GOM and start training for the OSL/MSL. Or even better yet, win GOM to prepare you for OSL/MSL and to gain your momentum back. Or even better, You win GOM, but lose both MSL and OSL, leaving Savior to win them back to back in a triumphant blaze of glory.
