Liquibition #29 - Finale
March 18th, 2009 22:52 GMT
F91 is on a rampage after destroying Strelok 4-1 just under two weeks ago. With that victory under his belt one has to wonder if any Terran outside of Korea can stop him. He now has two consecutive victories in Liquibition, and was also the champion of Broodsport. With Liquibition’s dabble in TvZ over the past month, we figured it was about time we saw some Protoss once again on the show. And who would be a better candidate for Liquibition than the American hero NonY. The complete history of Liquibition is in the spoiler below.
+ Show Spoiler +#1 Elky 3-1 Crystal, December 13 2002 #2 Elky 6-3 Blackman, December 25 2002 #3 Elky 4-0 Beast, February 5th 2003 #4 Elky 7-0 Rekrul, February 11th, 2003 #5 Smuft 6-2 Elky, March 18th, 2003 #6 Froz 6-5 Veg, May 10th, 2003 #7 Ret 4-0 Froz, May 27th, 2003 #8 Ret 4-3 Legionnaire, June 4th, 2003 #9 Infinity[pG] 4-2 Ret, June 7th, 2003 #10 Infinity[pG] 4-3 Daaman[pG], July 6th, 2003 #11 Infinity[pG] 4-3 Suker[pG], July 31st, 2003 #12 Tomson 4-1 Infinity[pG], September 10th, 2003 #13 Joyo 4-2 Tomson, September 14th, 2003 #14 Joyo 4-0 Cope, November 6th, 2003 #15 Elky 4-1 Joyo, January 7th, 2004 #16 Legionnaire 4-3 Elky, February 4th, 2004 #17 Legionnaire 4-2 Ret, April 5th 2004 #18 Ogogo 3-0 Legionnaire, June 6th, 2004 #19 Gundam 4-3 Strafe, October 17th, 2004 #20 Gundam 4-1 Breakdown, January 22nd, 2005 #21 BlackJack 4-2 FrozenArbiter, April 16th, 2006 #22 IdrA 4-0 iNcontroL August 27, 2007 #23 IefNaij 4-0 ret March 2, 2008 #24 IefNaij 4-2 Brat_OK December 14, 2008 #25 IefNaij 4-3 DinOt December 21, 2008 #26 IefNaij 4-0 HoRRoR January 11, 2009 #27 F91 4-1 IefNaij February 8, 2009 #28 F91 4-1 Strelok March 8, 2009
Special Liquibitions Xmas Special - Twisted 4-3 Drone December 28, 2008 Broodsport #1 - F91 5-2 IdrA February 21, 2009 F91 has accumulated quite a sum of money off TeamLiquid events in recent times. He has won $200 in Liquibition and a very impressive $225 from Broodsport. Needless to say, he is only capable of earning such large sums of money because of his incredible talent with the Swarm. His style is unique amongst Zergs, and reminds me of Savior in his prime – having just the right number and mixture of units at any given time. However in the past he has played a “cheesy” style and thus his opponents can never be sure about what exactly he is going to do. This makes him one of the fiercest Zergs on the planet.
If anyone can stop F91 it is NonY. NonY is without doubt the best Protoss in the United States, and after his training in Korea, probably the best Protoss outside of Korea. Not only is NonY a great gamer, he is also a great guy and a member of TeamLiquid’s own Liquid` clan – a very rare honor. NonY’s PvZ is absolutely sublime and has even pushed JulyZerg right to his very limit. NonY is eager to get in on the money and cash in on his experiences in Korea, and Liquibition is more than willing to accommodate for one of TeamLiquid’s own.
The map selection process changed for this episode, mostly because we wanted to get some more pre-game strategy going on. Each player was asked to pick 5 maps and then those 5 maps were given to the other player. Players would then select 3 maps from their opponent’s map pool and those maps would become a part of the Liquibition map pool. The final map the series, since there is not enough time for a community vote, was chosen by the staff. After a lengthy process, the following map pool was created;
The details about selection are included in the spoiler below. + Show Spoiler + F91 chose: Blue Storm, Tau Cross, Destination, Rush Hour III, Colosseum II NonY chose: Andromeda, Troy, Colosseum II, Wuthering Heights, Loki II Then F91 chose Andromeda, Loki II and Colosseum II from NonY’s map choices And NonY chose Colosseum II, Blue Storm and Tau Cross from F91’s choices
Alas, as the title alludes to, this will be the last Liquibition for a little while. Indeed another TL show will take to the air to fill the broadcasting void and then sometime later in the year Liquibition will kick off once again. For this finale we tracked down two very good casters for the show – Day[9] and Artosis, and barring any microphones failing (hi Day), will be commentating to enhance your enjoyment of the series. So get hyped! F91 vs NonY kicks off at 3pm EST on Saturday! That is 8pm CET on Saturday or 4am KST. We are looking in to rebroadcasting the cast specifically for the Chinese community – we’ll let you know as soon as possible if we do that.
In the mean time, get hyped for what is arguably the best Liquibition yet!

Can`t wait. NonY fighting!

OMG NONY TAKE F91 DOWN :O!
im quite suprise that so many people think that nony will win... f91 is playing almost as much as korean imo... and nony didnt play for how long 3 monts almost? he is ust right now start practice again... and also i heart that nony himself said that he didnt improve in korea that much... so i really belive f91 will take him
I don't care who wins as long as we see some good play. I mean Strelok at 800 minerals without spending any was painful to watch.
I hate every toss so F91 has to crush Nony: )
Nice, I'm looking forward for this clash of titans.
How come Liquibition will be off for some time? You want to focus on another projects and then get it back after they have been acomplished?
Keep up the good work.
I just hope that LAN lat works this time around.
you and your team have been pumping out these liquibitions at a torrid pace plexa, you deserve a break.
although if we know you then you're probably going to keep working just as hard on a different TL project.
really looking forward to this match and couldn't ask for a better card to end the liquibition season on. woo hoo!

Not very well according to TLPD. Pro LAN games don't have much to do with China vs. US, though.
awesome
zerg < toss iff toss played by Nony
haha KILL HIMM
Hoping Nony, thinking F91. If another TL show will be broadcasted after this TLA, does that mean... + Show Spoiler +TSL2!!! *crosses fingers*

Given that F91 handled JF, and JF is better than NonY... personally, I'd like to see JF with another shot at F91.

(On a side-note, go Nony!)

im a zerg user but...
cant vote against Nony...
NONY FIGHTING!!!
Awesome, I was waiting for this news post. I love to see Nony's pvz. GL NONY! NONY FIGHTING!!
Cheering for Nony, but voting for F91
I'm surprised Nony chose Blue Storm and Tau Cross from F91's maps. Aren't those a bit zerg favored?

F91 4:0 . We know that american players after hard training in KOREA, lose to non-koreans. Assem,Idra and now Nony.

day9 and artosis, very nice..

best liquibition ever!! go Nony! you can show your godlike level to the world right now!!
go go F91, i like your style, 4:0
Nony pushed JulyZerg to his limits? Were you watching the same replay the rest of us saw? It was like a cat lazily toying with a mouse for a while before finally throwing it in it's mouth
GL Tyler, make us proud ~~
OMFG this is going to be so amazing... and with Day + artosis casting? ORGASM

Haha yeah I also thought that was a liiiitle bit of a stretch I do however think that nony played amazing in that game (for foreigner standards) but july being july was still always thoroughly in control despite of that

You may not be that sure if you watched the last PGL

Go F91! And I will be going through liquibition withdrawals. =(
Nony fighting! Cant wait to see this series! Im looking forward to see Nony play again... first time since he came back from Korea I think (exept for the xfire stream). Day[9] and Artosis: just awesome!
I really hope"Indeed another TL show will take to the air" means there will finally be TSL 2...
just curious is F91 a TL member?
Sweet, you guys are pumping these things out quite fast, I like it. I wanna say that the last few Liquibitions/Broodsports have been very well done. I haven't bothered trying to watch any of it live because of crappy internet speeds, but the VODs have been done very nicely, are well synced with the commentators, have very little lag, are good quality, and are in a format I can watch. The whole experience has been quite seemless and easy for me and I've been very entertained with the high level of play we've seen from the foreigners. I really want to see some of these guys make it to a Korean Team. NonY, I can only hope that life's circumstances allow you to continue playing starcarft, you're still the Great White Hope!!
Much starcraft in the next 72 hours :D
Nony, F91, Day[9], and Artosis all in the same broadcast? I just came.

I really think that they are gonna do TL Attack, because they once said that they could get several korean pro gamers like light (I think it was plexa who said they could probably do an entire season just with pro gamers) , it only had to be a time where the pro teams arent that busy...
and proleague is basically over so...

Nony "pushed July to the limit?" That game was pretty one-sided from beginning to end...
Are all 7 games being played? F91 4-2 or 5-2 methinks.
NONY OSBOURNE!!!!!
Okay, probably the worst joke ever made, but go nony!
I would be happy with either winner, but I want Nony to put on a great show even more.
This should be awesome. Yay for Day and Artosis casting!
Go nony, win this shit and show us that you learnt stuff in Korea!!
O nice! Can't wait for Artosis and Day[9] (Chill would have been nice, but whatever). This is gonna be frickin' awesome! GOGOGO NonY!
finale... as in no more liquibition ever?
hmm i had no idea nony left estro, neither did i know there was a teamliquid starleague =O
well, i haven't seen any games being put in nony's estro record ever, so i'm wondering if he really is good, or its just Plexa writing a good article =O
Nony is very good, hope he makes us proud!
i expect F91 5-2 nony :|
F91 is really really good
i pay attention to china touny and league a lot
F91 is really good and has a little of kwanro style but more cheesy
the guy not afraid go low econ like july or 5pool like jaedong
F91 5:2 NONY...... NONY was r*ped in PGL season 4, what a shame......
AlwaysGG, do u know Sen, he will be elimated from 1st round in ESWC Master League (Asia Qualification)~~~~~
I hate to say it but F91 sometimes fails when most people thought he would win.
F91 is going to win I can feel it Go Go F91! I have nothing against NonY but I just prefer Zerg players.
Which top player has nony ever beat?
I think 1030xxx deserves a ban for his retarded comments. Anyone?
Good luck, F91!
For the Swarm!

Im very curious to see what kind of player Nony has turned into hes been really under wraps lately.
F91's got this. Pity I can't watch it at like 6am or whatever. 2-4am is a pretty brutal time for a Chinese player, isn't it?
as i know F91 is quite good on his zvp , he took 1 game from Stork and Kal on Bo3 game if i didnot miss that. i guess he was not that popular in aboard, but one thing for sure is that he got most fans in chinese sc community,(more than Pj's and Lx's). Nony is good but f91 is just so unexpectable player. I wanna see some good games tmr! guess it will be close but i hope f91 win 4-0..

Hope Nony learnt to gg in Korea. I would be a bit ashamed if he was behaving in an Idra fashion against F91.
By the way, I don't believe Nony has any chance here.

Good lord, 3am China time? How quickly will the vods be out? If it comes out quickly I think I'll just skip this one.
Ash, who is retarded? I just predict Sen will be elimated from ESWC 2009 and tell the truth to people (yes, Nony did really bad in PGL Season 4). Think more before you say something! (well, I apologize for my 'F-bomb' in my previous comment)
GOGO NONY!!!
From the ZvP I've seen of F91 I think Nony does have the clear advantage.... but we'll see...
Go go chinese for the win.

TL attack with Day[9] would be baller
F91 GOGOGO!
