You'd have a job finding 8 2v2 teams that everyone would enjoy watching. Well a good way to find other quality 2v2 teams would be a ladder stage I think. Then you get the mix of unknown / known teams in the elimination round.

You find out yourself by trying it out, not by listening to others and taking their words as facts. Xeris nailed this one. On June 22 2008 10:55 Steelflight-Rx wrote: NO ITS just that 2v2 is fun, and imo fun to watch. it is really a cool untapped part of starcraft, you see a lot of cool/innovative strats in 2v2 that you dont see so much in 1v1 I agree. Nowadays with the huge macro games we see, 1v1 has changed a lot since the old days of mega micro intensive games that where always exciting and intense. 2v2 still retains this mentality of aggression and micro, however, that's why I like playing it and watching it as well! Plus, some people say DMZ was bad, but imo if a map with really short positions like that was implemented again, I would like it, because even as such a bad map it provided extremely entertaining games sometimes, because of all the hyper aggression with rushes and stuff. I love 2v2!!! <3 On June 21 2008 15:38 Ancestral wrote: Clearly we just need a foreign Proleague. iirc this was attempted and there were teams, but eventually people just stopped showing up. @op - Yes, I would be for this, but it would be watched far less than the 1v1, therefore a 2v2 TSL is not exactly feasible.

A nice 8 man invitational tournament could be nice though, maybe 4 invite and 4 earned spots with a qualifier or something? Nothing too spectacular. But if they were to do that i would attempt to play and would most certainly watch.

highly unlikely but an invitational would be cool.

We've had 'pro leagues' for ages now like WGTCL. There are many active 2v2 players.

Some of the top players in the TSL were relatively unknown and probably wouldnt have had a chance if it was invite only. that statement couldn't be more wrong. there were no real unknowns in TSL.. if you are familiar with the foreign scene, which obviously much of TL.net is not, then you would have known all the players. for example... Dinot has been really good for about a year now, Brat was always really good but was inactive for a period, Iefnaij has been good forever, Dreiven has been monstrous in the past 6 months etc, Rondo has recently got real good... so really there weren't too many surprise names.

I think if mondragon and testie played together they would win but if they got random partners I doubt they would be good enough to carry their partner

Actually, on second thought, you probably don't even need the cash. If it says TSL, then people will come. And play. And buy razer products (did you know that their 5.1 surround sound headphones do nothing for sc? ^_^ )

I like 2v2. I did have a partner and we made it to D+ but I haven't heard of him for awhile. Oh well!
