Is this is a remake of an old map? It looks really really familiar to some other map ive seen posted on this forums...
On an aesthetic point, the sand is too pretty, you might want to make it abit dirtyer since the industrial parts suggest this isnt on a beach on the bahamas

The overview, with the sand and the two middle highgrounds, is very similar to Galapagos. Bases are placed differently though.

The style is exactly the same like Galapagos.
I think the map is very splitty. The highground allows defending up to four bases with ease. The 5th is not much further apart too. Additionally the map is gigantic. The rush distance is very long so there is a lot of time for attacks to be spotted early on. I think you need to open it up much more. If you park your army on that highground and turtle up at the natural and 4th entrance your opponent can neither attack your army (because of the tower and the highground), nor attack your bases because he would get flanked.
The Aesthetics on the other hand are really good. I have to applaud the work you put in to place that many doodads.

The aesthetics really are amazing, all those funky doodads :D
But I have to agree that it's too easy to turtle on 4 bases, some counter-attack paths would be welcome as well as a fewer chokes.
But please keep making maps to make my eyes happy!

Aesthetics looks like it would fit right into HOTS .
As far as fixing the super easily defendable 4th goes, try removing the ramp and getting rid of the pool of water so that there is no longer a choke you can easily wall off.

First though: looks incredible. The sand and the mechanic ground... superb. The detail work is also mind-blowing.
Generally the map looks kinda narrow, except for the platform things with the Xelnaga towers (which by the way seem primordial for defence and counter-attacking). Not too sure if this is a good thing; what I mean is that since everything is kinda narrow, stimmed marine splitting would and other types of split engagements would be awkward. That being said, thanks to the great number of paths in the map, suddenly players are forced to split and flank differently as to the traditional flanking in open fields. I'm not sure if what I just said is understandable, but that's what I think.
There really isn't much wrong about this map, from the name (nice one!) to the details to the strategic enjeux. Really, really nicely done.

It looks very very nice! I think the narrowness is fun/interesting in most places, except at the 4th base. I don't think those rocks are really needed, as a 3 base army pushing the 4th will kill them extremely fast any way. The different paths look like a fun battleground for trying to get armies out of position.

Hi thanks everyone for the input. I have been thinking about how to change the fourth base around but I cannot find a satisfying result. Any idea how I can fix the fourth? Also, please send a replay of the map if it is played. Thank you.

hey lefix, igrok, do you have this map by chance? I'm sunlethwaterscape (aka theworldofdustoerba) (maker of avura springs, the end of dreams aka chilblain, catachresis, dreams strand) I lost the map file for catachresis, and I want to remake it. can you please send it to me? I already contacted monitor about this since I sent it during MotM Sept $400 like a year or two ago.

I love the thing that there is too many water on this map Lemonade water in the middle and water around with mountains - looks epic.
