Dear members of liquid,
It is holiday now for me and I would like to put my time and energy into developping a tower defence for starcraft 2. I don't have much experience in the map editor but I have finished my first year in programming, so i probably pick it up fast.
Are there people who want to join me on this journey? this will include designing everything from start to finish concept, art, map, rules, gameplay etc.
For now i don't have a real plan yet, since i still need to figure out how the editor works, to see what's possible.
If you would like to join or have questions reply in this thread and I will reply.
P.S. nothing is obligated you can also help for only a period of time.

Getting the grasp of the editor is a long process. You'll most probably not create anything worth sharing within the first hundred hours. My best advice would be to start learning the editor by yourself until you feel comfortable enough to complete your tower defense project. If you head over to sc2mapster, you'll find a Comprehensive Tutorial Section covering all the basics - it's a great tool if you want to learn the editor. I wish you good luck, and I hope to see you around sometime later with a finished product.

If you need any help feel free to hit me up. I've taught a great many people.

Which one is the best existing tower defence? I remember trying a few, but didn't really like any. preferably cooperative. The one back in wc3, bourbenog out something, was really good I remember. Only time I ever played wc3. sorry for derailing.

Imo it is mines and magic in starcraft 2. I really enjoy the random factor in it, and the resource management.

Sunken D from BW was the best. Making a maze of Sunkens and getting special units to hold the gaps. So much fun. Too many Tower D games are "Get these 2 towers and make them do crazy damage and upgrade them as they shoot stuff that goes in a pre-determined path around the map." Not fun imo.

Although it's getting old, Gem Tower Defense is by far the TD I have had the most fun playing. I don't play a lot of TDs though; they often times lack depth, as previously mentioned.
