I want to present you a little gameplay mod I did recently. It is basicaly a test mod of some ideas seen in this forum, suggesting unit possibilities to enchance gameplay and flexibility of compositions. It adds some upgrades and tweakes some unit values. However, this is still a little draft of many changes I would like to introduce. The whole idea behind this is more fights, no real advantages in phases of the game (really hard) and more micro. So basically, trying to make all tech stay competitive at the same levels.
The whole point of this is to change the game so transitioning becomes easier and more rewarding, so every tech becomes a little bit more interesting, specially when looking at multiplayer ideas from Blizz that could be implemented in LotV. In some ways, is a little approach to what we've seen from LotV. It only affects units; LotV economy system hasn't been implemented yet.
However, we have to take in account that this also would require a very balanced map, where expansions and timings could be a little less efficient. If you want to try it, the first draft of this has just been uploaded to Europe and America regions. Simply browse "SC2 4FUN" when creating a custom game and use it as an extension mod.

- Weapon cooldown increased to 0.93
Marauder
- Bonus damage vs armored decreased from 10 to 7. (Still scalates with upgrades)
- Range decreased to 5.
- Concussive shells cost increased to 75/75
Ghost
- Snipe damage changed to 30vs bio + 15 vs psionic.
Widow Mine
- Splash range decreased to 1.5
Hellbat
- Given a new upgrade: Vanadium Hydraulics (150/150 - 130s). Requirement: Armory. Increases the speed of Hellbats, Thors and landed Vikings.
Hellbats recieve a 15 % speed bonus.
Thor
- Base armor increased to 2.
- Explosive Payload AA range decreased to 8.5
- Given a new upgrade: Vanadium Hydraulics (150/150 - 130s). Requirement: Armory. Increases the speed of Hellbats, Thors and landed Vikings.
Thors recieve a 20 % movement speed bonus.
Viking
- Changed weapon values to make it more responsive and microable (Hit & Run micro, like old Valkiries).
- Damage decreased to 9 +3
- Weapon cooldown decreased to 1.8.
- Given a new upgrade: Vanadium Hydraulics (150/150 - 130s). Requirement: Armory. Increases the speed of Hellbats, Thors and landed Vikings.
Landed vikings gain a 10 % speed movement bonus.
Raven
- PDD lifetime decreased to 45 seconds.
- Seeker missile delay decreased to 4 seconds.
- Corvid Reactor now increases energy regeneration by a 10 % (0.62 aprox.)
Battlecruiser
- Build time decreased to 80.
- AA attack cooldown decreased to 0.2.
- Ground damage changed to be higher with longer cooldown. damage changed to 16, cooldown 0.45. Upgrades give +2 weapon damage.
ZERG
Baneling
- New upgrade: Tunneling Jaws. 150/150 -110 seconds. Requires Hive.
Allows banelings to move slowly while burrowed (0.75speed). (Basically is for repositioning them when burrowed, almost unusable in real fight)
Infestor
- Neural parasite research time decreased to 90s.
- Neural parasite cast range increased to 8.
- Pathogen glands also grants 15% bonus energy regeneration now.
Ultralisk
- Base armor increased by 1 (2).
Broodlord
- Base armor increased by 1 (2)
- Movement speed increased to 1.58.
Overseer
- Given psionical attribute.
- Ventral sacs now grants Overseers a cargo space of 2.
- Overseers have an unloading delay of 3 seconds that prevents movement drop to work well.
Greater spire
Morph time decreased to be 80 seconds.
PROTOSS
Stalker
- Blink range decreased to 7.
Immortal
- Weapon scan range increased to 6 (more accurate at targeting)
Void Ray
- Base armor increased to 1.
- Build time decreased to 50.
Tempest
- Tempest bonus damage vs massive reduced to 30 (damage 30+30).
- Build time increased to 65.
- Upgrade: Resonance Reactor. 150/150 - 110s. Adds bonus damage vs structures to the Tempest's ground attack. (+15 vs structures)
Carrier
- +2 base armor (4).
- Buid time decreased to 105.
- Interceptors repair while inside the carrier now.

Marine
- Weapon cooldown reverted to its original value (0.86)
Reaper
- Cooldown decreased to 1.18
- New tech: "Legacy Weapons" - 100/100, 100s. Requires Armory. Increases reaper damage by 2 and grants access to D-8 Charge.
- Old weapon returned: D-8 Charge (antibuilding) 5 range, 2.1 cooldown.
Ghost
- Ghost Sight range decreased to 9
- Snipe Range decreased to 9.
- Initial energy reverted to 75 again.
- Weapon cooldown decreased to 1.3.
- EMP Round requires the Ghost to stop for a fraction of a second. Added a cooldown of 5s.
Widow Mine
- Drilling Claws tech price decreased to 100/100. Time reduced to 95s.
Siege Tank
- Implemented LotV tank drop mechanic. Fully animated!
- Cargo size changed to 8.
- New tech: Hi-tech Sieging Chasis. 150/150, 110s. Requires Starport. Allows Siege tanks to be picked and dropped while in siege mode.
Viking
- Changed weapon values to be more microable.
- Now Vikings can almost go move-shot when microed correctly when facing units in a certain angle.
- Weapon cooldown increased to 1.92.
- Transformation time decreased to 3.
Vanadium Hydraulics tech moved to Fusion Core tech level.
Banshee
- Implemented speed upgrade (speed up to 3.5). 150/150, 110s. Requires fusion Core.
Raven
- Seeker missile launch range decreased to 8.
- Durable materials upgrade removed.
Battlecruiser
- Antiground damage decreased to 15.
ZERG
Infestor
- Pathogen glands bonus energy regeneration only applies to burrowed Infestors.
- Morph time decreased to 47.
Overseer
- Unloading delay decreased to 2 seconds.
