Desert Breeze
By SwedenTheKid (or, my awful username, NinjaNoob) Bounds (playable) 155x152 Nat to Nat 47 seconds (133 range) Bases 10 (8 mineral, 2 gas) 3 Xel'naga Towers
This is my first map thread! No really, I'm sure that the map has some problems. One thing I noticed is the difficulty of taking a 4th unless you expand vertically, as well as the short rush distance. But I really enjoy mapmaking and hope to get better with experience. Feedback welcome

There is some really cool stuff in this map. The center is cool. The main-nat-3rd layout is nice, though the double choke for the natural is sort of challenging as a concept. I can't really decide if it's broken or awesome for defending the natural. This strikes me as a positive and worth investigating further. I think the 3rd would benefit from being moved away from the ramp, straight toward the edge of the map, taking up some of what is now high ground.
The main problem is the huge dead space in front of the watchtowers. It takes eight years to go around and it makes it so attacking the 4th will always get your army trapped. I strongly recommend putting in a ramp from the low ground to the central plateau in front of the watchtower. Maybe it can start blocked, but you need something there.
Smaller problems include the placement of the 3rd base because the town hall would be very hard to defend. An attacking army can get a strong position from the ramp while at no particular risk, and should at least have to turn the corner at the top of the ramp to get a good angle. Another is that the 4th doesn't have enough space around it for a real fight. Some of that plateau could get lowered, or the 4th could go further into the corner. The dead space next to the main is also bigger than it needs to be, so I recommend using some of that to adjust the tower plateau and the 4th to give more movement space.
Solid map in waiting.
ps 47 second rush distance is not short, even slightly longer than standard for a 2p map. This is fine because your natural is weird.

Thanks for the feedback! I think your right about the dead space. Will see if I can remake those areas. Still have a lot of WIP maps to work on as well.
