Hello TL,
I have not posted here in a long time. I was very active a year ago developing a mod called Starbow. Recently I felt like working in the editor again, so I created a new mod (which so far has no name.) Now it has reached an alpha state where it is decently playable. I am curious to see whether the concept "works" or not, and if it is worth to continue developing it.
This mod is partly close to Starcraft melee games, in the sense that players collect resources, build armies and fight battles, at a high pace. I have however experimented with some fundamentals in the gameplay, which will be briefly explained below.
Ps. The pictures below are outdated. Parts of the gameplay look different now, compared to when I first published this.

All races do however have ca 12 units each. They are all familiar from the Starcraft universe, but many of them are heavily modified to fit into this mod. There are also around 15 new spells/abilities that exist in no other Starcraft game, nor in Starbow.

How to play

Right now the map is set to "Private", so you can only play it during evenings when I and other players test it together. But everyone is free to join! I announce when it is testing time here in the thread... It is typically during 18.00-23.00 CET on EU. Join channel NNM if you want to join!
(Yes yes, I intend to make the mod public. Right now I just prefer to have it private since it is so early in development and fundamental things are being changed and explored... When the game gets a bit more stable I will "open it up" again)

Since this mod is a bit experimental, I might continue to work on it if the concept feels fun and interesting enough. If so, I will add more maps, improve things that feel bad or annoying, add more features such as Archon mode, improve 2v2 and 3v3 gameplay, add more content for the races, tweak balance, give it a real name, upload it to more servers, and so on.
If this turns out to be not especially fun to play and observe, well... at least it was interesting to write the concept and build it in the editor! (Plus I can examine what did not work and why)
Remember, the game is in early alpha, so don't be too angry if it feels imbalanced or if some new spells/units turn out to have flaws in their design. Some features of the game, such as the design of certain units, the tech trees, upgrades, etc are not yet finalized. The main point now is to see whether or not the concept is fun at all!
