Hey!
I had this idea but I don't know how to make custom maps so I don't know if it's even possible, but here it is: just some regular LOTV map, 1v1 match where both players can choose whatever race. But, the creator of the game has modified stats of some units he feels might need balancing.
So you see a list of existing games, and by clicking you see what modifications have been made and a short text from the creator. There should also be password access?
If you decide to create your own game, you see a grid of all unit icons and can modify their speed, damage, range etc.
If this already exists, please let me know! Thanks
It is possible to do a lobby that would appear in game, where you would choose between different mods with a set of modifications already made .. Also, extremely difficult and long to do.
It seems even further nigh personal hair pulling to then try and do a menu allowing to set the mod in a pre game to play it on the fly, mostly long to code and even longer to test drive.
This does not already exist as such, the engine allows for it though, but i'd wager no one will do it until after lotv dust settles and even then, again it is a painfully slow process to achieve for a coder (for a dedicated group even), for potentially no return at all and an astronomical amount of updating rigging it to fail with obsolescence pre programmed in its conception/inception.
Edit: that said, if it was done (and besides adding "new units" which would be an even further challenge to get to work).. this would be the mod that ends all further mods (kind of like how gameheart is to customizing the ui),
so while the task is enormous so would be the rewards.
Come to think of it, sounds worth doing / investing in!
