Description
Jinn's Battleground is an Arcade map where 4 teams of 2 level up Heroes, capture Camps, and fight NPC enemies for control of the Jinn's Island. Each player gets one Hero and can train mercenaries; all units can equip items of which there are over 100 available. The center of the map is dominated by the evil Jinn who drops epic loot if killed.
Jinn's Battleground is a strategy game that heavily incorporates RPG elements and is inspired by tabletop RPGs like D&D, using a 1-20 dice roll system for combat. There are 12 Hero classes available and collecting items for your units is a key to victory. There are camps throughout the map which provide income if captured. Death is permanent but you retain most of your experience points (but drop your items!).
How to Play
Heroes can be trained at your Camp. You can choose between Human, Orc, Elven, and Dark Elven Heroes, each race has 3 classes. Pick a class upon reaching Level 1. If your Hero dies, you can create another with 85% exp.

Originally envisioned as a story-driven RPG, incorporating fast-paced combat inspired me to create a strategy game based on an old-school board game called Dark Tower. In that game you'd travel around a map to collect 4 keys before facing the evil wizard in his dark tower to win the game. Along the way you'd hire mercenary allies and visit the Bazaar to shop for items.
The combat itself is based mostly on early editions of D&D and aspires to games like Neverwinter Nights and Divinity Original Sin. I wanted to create a strategy game with these elements where players would have to venture out onto the map as a team to capture objectives or complete quests. Future expansion plans include trying to create a Battle Royale version with a shrinking battle area or a huge sized 5v5 map where teams complete to finish a quest-line leading to a final deciding battle against the evil Jinn.
