This is especially true when you have got 2 different spellcasters in your army and you want a specific one at the front. Apart from selecting them individually with shift etc, which takes previous time. 2. Is there any way of maintaining a current hotkey'd army ? Or do you have to manually add each wave of units you produce / spawn / warp in ? 1. I don't know how to specifically do what you're asking. One tip that I saw is put your army on hotkey 1, for example, including all units that you want to move, including the spellcasters. Then put the spellcasters on a separate hotkey. E.g., Protoss could put their entire ball into #1, High Templar on #2, and Sentries on #3. Select 1 when you need to attack or move the entire ball. Select 2 to Storm. Select group 3 to cast force field. 2. Use shift-# to add to a hotkey.

It's true if they send an SCV/probe out they can see the overlord and deduce where you spawned, but I find this is less important than figuring out what kind of situation I'm in. I tend to drone scout to the first close position on 4-player maps. My second overlord goes to my natural and tries to get vision of the bottom of the ramp / back of minerals for pylon/bunker cheese.

Or do you have to manually add each wave of units you produce / spawn / warp in ? 1. If multiple unit types are included in the same control group, there is a static priority, so to speak, of how they will be ordered. For protoss, for example, with sentries and blink stalkers, sentries will be first, so quick access (quicker than a tab) to blink requires a separate group for them. High templar take precedence over both. It's not something you can change, but you can predict it. If you want the sentry micro to be first, you can include stalkers, but not HTs. 2. I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but I can take a stab. When protoss warp in, you can box and shift+# them to your control group. Zerg, however, can be included in the control group while still larva, which is nice. So, you can 'zzzz' for a bunch of zerglings and shift+1 or whatever and they will be in the group as larva, then also as zerglings, when they spawn. I don't play zerg so I don't know how well-known that part is.

Their casting card is shown first in the army for spell casting.

That, too, is circumstantial. For harassment purposes: Heilions with Blue Flame works. Tanks are also a good sinker and naturally thors. Medivacs, also, work well if you're going heavy Bio.

I think that might actually be too advanced, but I would like to know from people's experience the pros and cons maybe?

I watched some Day9 Dailies and I saw that Day9 only hotkeyed individual Hatcheries, and I think that was for the sake of checking spawn larva progress. Should I group all of my Hatcheries in one control group or put them in individual groups?

Should I group all of my Hatcheries in one control group or put them in individual groups? At the beginning I do them individually and hotkey them together (after my bases are saturated). But I most people hotkey them and use tilde or backspace to jump between the bases.

Edit: I understand there is the Liquipedia having a list of build orders - but I'm curious if anyone thinks theres a good build FOR A GOLD LEAGUE to practice execution and not too risky, not too cheesy.

I would like to add that doing larvae injects using the minimap is preferred by many of the top players. TLO said while on day9 that the koreans on ogs had him do so when he was in Korea and that's how he does it. I've tried both techniques myself and I feel doing it on the minimap is much stronger

When you need marines and can't wait or when you are making the barracks to dump minerals into marines and you rather spend another 150 then 50 gas if since it's a reduced waiting time. You can add the addons when your maxed or supply blocked (at least that's when I do it) or add them when you can spare the time basically. Spending gas in that matchup is quite easy? You upgrade mech weapons and run two eng bays for bio upgrades, you make thors, tanks and medivacs. I believe you stay to low tech if you have this question

Splash damage is calculated independently of the initial target. The zergling will take light main damage, and the roach will take armored splash damage.
