I haven't really figured out what calculus 2 is equivalent with regarding Swedish math education.. calculus 2 is integrals and stuff no? At what age do you study this in USA? I 'think' the standard is 17/18 (final year of high school) to start introductory Calculus (which likely covers some basic integration).
First year university goes over this as well (so around 18/19 years old) with a few different areas thrown in i.e. trig substitution, partial fractions, and some basic intro to series. Second year syllables should include double/triple integration, partial derivatives, and more on integration with taylor series and subsets of R3.
edit: I might be missing a lot of the actual syllables I'm just listing what I remember. Also note it's not at all unusual to take these courses at an earlier year. ~1/2 my class was taking the course a year in advance including myself.

High school seniors (17-18) have the option of taking calculus which will cover basic limits, derivatives, and integrals. That's basically what calculus 1 will go over in college too. Calculus 2 goes over more advanced integrals mostly (from my experience at least). Age range really depends on the student's major. Engineering and math majors take calculus in the early years of college while other majors that require calculus usually take it in their later years.

As a T, I read many guides telling T to banshee harass P. I know this is strong and can contain the P, however what if the P simply makes observers? (Assuming I am cloaked banshees). I dont mean observers with the P's main army, but what if they ake observers and send them to the edge of the map, where my cloaked banshees park when not harassing his base? This way, he will know my banshee is there?

Can someone Pm me the answer to this. That'd be great! Cheers :D
The graphs at the end of a game of resource collection and army value; the numbers on the X axis, are those numbers in seconds? For example, sometimes it says at 680, I had this amount of units. 680 = 11 mins and 20 seconds i.e. 11:20 or is 680 = 6:80

Is anyone else having problems ZvP on cloud kingdom? I have not beaten a single Protoss on that map. It just seems like a clusterfuck of chokes everywhere. Any good discussions somewhere, or ZvP replays to watch? (I haven't found anything)
This map is just driving me crazy. Protoss just has a choke to retreat to EVERY-FUCKING-WHERE. I know this map is the TL contest winner, so the problem must be with me... but seriously, I just don't see balanced ZvP on this map. Flanking/surounding may not be totally impossible, but it's harder to pull off than just about any other map in the pool.

How would you know that it's not balanced? Are you GM in Korea? ID and char code pls

Here's the thing about cloak banshees (from a protoss perspective, and in general): The banshees with cloak will require protoss to keep 1-2 observers around at least in order to deflect harass, or invest in cannons. This means he also can't move out without obs. Now, since he has to produce anywhere between 1-3 obs to be as safe as possible, that means he's not making colossi or immortals from his robo, and generally makes a good amount of stalkers.
First of all, cloak banshees aren't meant to do infinite damage - they have the potential against an unprepared opponent, but you should never rely on that. Your goal is map control. It doesn't matter if he knows exactly where the banshee is at all times because you'll still force him to make observers, micro them to look for banshees instead of scouting your army movements, and he'll have to split his forces to counter your harass, which buys you time to do whatever you want. The added bonus is that he can't afford to move out on the map without an observer, and if he splits any forces without an obs, the banshee(s) can put a timer on his attack and shut it down.
tl;dr: it doesn't matter if he sees the banshees. They're still going to buy you map control as long as you keep them active and don't lose them. Cloak amplifies this effect by forcing obs and occupying robo time.

1. Which mirror matchup is considered the shortest (average game time)? 2. Similar question as above - Which race got the shortest matchups? (average game times)?
|
Hi, i got a simple question :D I did not find an answer on this anywhere.
When i am dropping units while moving with a medivac. How can i stop that, while it is done. Pressing ESC does not help. I always have to wait till all of my marines are unloaded to load back in, or i load in 3 and the rest keeps dropping. Can s.b. help me?

Okay i got it , its Stop command

I do not know the indefinite answer but I'm pretty sure the shortest mirror is ZvZ, followed shortly by PvP where a ton of games end by the 5-10 minute mark while very few make it to the 15-20 / 20+ min mark.
The shortest non-mirror match-up seems to be PvT and PvZ respectively as both match-ups frequently end in the 10-15min marks. This could be rather inaccurate, I don't think there's a particular non-mirror that has a tendency to end notably early with respect to the other match-ups.
The longest interestingly enough seems to be ZvT by a significant margin.
+ Show Spoiler +note: this is completely based off of some guesses and logical reasoning (which inevitably contains some bias) based on this chart <http://i.imgur.com/8Wfcc.png> which is data from MLG providence which contains several hundred games.

Why aren't battlecruisers (with yamato) seen as a counter to zerg late-game compositions (broodlord / corruptor / ultra).

Is it a greedier opening for Z if they take their nat as early as possible or if they drone up as much as possible and take it at 17 or sth?

Howdi mate, it is indeed more economical to open up hatchery first in any matchup, however, you must consider how safe it is depending on what race you are vsing.
ZvT you run the risk of early marine/bunker aggression. Even if you survive it, the amount of drones you had to pull or the amount of lings you had to make may very well out weigh the economical advantage you get from early expanding, however if you opted for an earlier spawning pool you could of perhaps held the aggression with only 2-4 lings or it your opponent might simply opt out.
In ZvZ you can do it, but you will find that with all the extra defenses you have to build early on to defend aggression you will be behind alot of the time.
ZvP it simply isn't even worth it unless your opponent opens with a gateway rather than a forge, but tbh depending on when you send your drone scout, you probably won't scout what they are doing, so it is just safe to open spawning pool first every time otherwise you run the risk of pulling drones to defend against cannon aggression and trust me... you will always be behind if you defend against that with drones.
Unless you know that you will be ahead when early expanding (Perhaps you are playing on a rediculously huge map) then it is almost never worth fast expoing imo. Don't get me wrong though, that is only my opinion, lots of other people disagree so it's up to you whether or not you want to deal with other races bull shit early game xD

Now I have a question, In ZvZ, what is the easiest way to survive mass roach/Speedling timing attacking? I can survive them sometimes, and I generally just use pure roach and spine crawlers.. Is that the correct thing to do?

Whilst that is true, it is also that teching up to them is expensive, they also take quite a while to build and in order for them to be in any way really effective in a late game scenario you need to be building their numbers up a bit which leaves you ever weaker on the front lines while you try to actually get them out.
But yeah, then they at best kill the ground army, get killed by the corruptor reinforcements and then you have to re build back your army without them.

I think so. Speedlings are powerfull if they can sourround the roaches and keep them from range attacking. If you micro your roaches between/behind the spines, enemy lings and roaches attack spines. Your roaches and spines attack the lings first and when you killed them, you should have more roaches then the enemy.
Question:
How to UNselect a unit from a hotkey group (so the group is left with -1 unit)? Like, Im Ling only against Banes, i want to run 1 ling into the banes. All my banes are on Group 1, how to unselect a single lings?
Or, I want to send lings to the watchtowers.
1. 6 lings on group 1. 2. how Unselect 2. 3. 4 lings left in group 1.

Hold shift and click on a single Ling and then rebind the control group. It's the same for removing two, hold shift and left click twice and then rebind the group you have selected. Because it's done this way, it's why you'll often see pro's run all their lings to a tower, or to blings and then pull all but one or 2 back.

Because no one has successfully done it yet in a high caliber game (That i know of). I would highly reccomend trying to mix in BCs late game against zerg and just seeing how you like it, keep trying things. Im still trying to find a way to have a meaninful transistion into BCs that isnt part of a pure skyterran build. I think the key to it is matching the zerg economy into the mid/late game which can be difficult without putting on pressure.
