Hello, if your going for Lowko's Roach Timing attack build in ZvP and the Protoss goes for a 7 min proxy pylon, what should you do?

Spines, dont go for creep, keep nrg for transfuse, buy time until roach warren is out. As soon as you see movement, go for RW. You can build it as it supposed to be in the BO if u have see nothing coming. WIth scout, u should have intel around 6 minutes mark, maybe cancel evo for RW, and build evo after. I'll propably dont build it in order to build spines and keep gas for quick roach(quicker RW) because if you defend, you win^^ what's supposed to be a 7 minutes proxy pilon ? 5 gate ? @ 343 Guilty Park I think some players give great content an if u want a good opinion about a MU you need to select according to the race. Dont watch a zerg speaks about PvP :p. It depends on what you're looking for. edit :my bad, i didnt really answer i'm new to this^^ i can suggest Lowko(Felixje0), Desrow(desrowfighting) and HTMario(Sc2Yosho)

I know grid hotkey setups are more efficient, but I don't have the time or heart to change ~10 years of broodwar habit. I was watching Naniwa's stream, and the only hotkey he changed was immortals from 'i" to "e", which makes a lot of sense. Are there any other hotkeys I should change to make my play a bit faster for random? Thanks in advance.

By redundancy I mean not just having an overlord just outside the edge of your base where a drop will come in, but, for example, an overlord just outside of the enemy base that might spot the dropships on the way out, and one or two along the edges of the map where they are likely to fly when the player is trying to be sneaky. If your creep spread is good you have less need to place overlords around the middle of the map. I figure if I just have the scouting overlords near my base then even if I spot it I will probably not respond quickly enough with my metal league reactions to defend properly. So if there are at least two or 3 points where it will pass through the vision of your overlord or creep tumor, it increases the odds greatly that you will see it and see it in time to react. I'm not particularly great as a player but by trying to be redundant with overlords as I have more of them, I've found that I identify and intercept a decent percentage of drops, and often can at least have ground army in my main in time to defend etc. Obviously any player roaming the map with a few vikings can seriously put a cramp in this, but many players do not do this. Often I will notice a little blip of red pass near one of my overlords out on the map and I can glimpse that there are one or two dropships there and get a sense of the direction they are moving. Then my brain is alerted to the fact there are dropships on the move and then I am highly likely to notice them passing near a second overlord or creep tumor and get a fix on their direction and be in position to intercept or defend. I went from never intercepting drops to doing it a decent amount of the time now because of this. There's little better feeling in the game than intercepting a 4 medivac doom drop and killing it with almost no losses, that's serious damage that in most instances should pretty much win you the game. Just nitpicking, but you are sort of misusing the word 'redundancy' and it makes a pretty clear explanation somewhat counterintuitive. You are talking about redundancy, but you mean extending the total amount of map area covered. Redundancy is what happens as a result of putting 2 overlord on the same location.

I changed hotkey 0 to ` I changed hotkey 9 to W (overlaps with Warpgate but offers superior utility for T/Z, and you want to hotkey your gateways anyways) I changed Immortals from I to T I changed Lift Off from L to Z And some Camera keys, which I don't think you are talking about.

I took me less than 2 months to switch from classic to grid + customs, as you already play random, to switch will be easier. Now that we can fully custom our hotkeys, you should try to write your own. ofc some tips can be good (delete select all military units^^) For example, i switch ctlr and shift, i had fews missbind but i knew that it'll improve my gameplay

Thanks, those are really good suggestions, will also try to note keys that I'm (over)stretching for during games. What did you change for Camera keys? I use F1 to F5 for a total of 5 location hotkeys, and of course shift + F keys for binding. F1 for main, F2 for natural, F3 for rally point/natural choke, F4 for enemy base, and F5 for my third.

blade555's stuff is still viable. except swarmhosts part. You should ask lowko, he's zerg, streams a lot and has already a lot of BO on vod.

My only solution is to 'pause' (with mouse) and then to mash my keyboard until it seems to work again. Anyone else have this problem? Never heard of this problem. Try repairing your game, maybe reinstall keyboard drivers, check that cable isn't damaged/loose. You can also try with another cheap keyboard to see if its a hardware or software problem

As Excludos mentionned it, The best is to find a cheap keyboard to see if it's comes from your keyboard or computer. If from keyboard, well sorry. If it's drivers, reinstall drivers. it's maybe cause a conflict between aze/qwe. or even Wintosc2 keyboard. Keyboard issues are known but not related to a bug in sc2.
