Diamond random player, I've recently been having a lot of success mixing neural parasite into my mid-game Zerg comp.
I first did it as a in-game reaction to my opponent overmaking Medivacs, the thought was I could just skimp on Roaches and use the stolen Medivacs to heal my Hydras (bonus--kill them after NP because they're on scan move over Hydras and used the booster cooldown to get them there).
It worked a *lot* better than I expected, like I just crushed the guy and made almost 0 roaches going vs. tank bio. Hydrafestor.
So, I kept it up... In ZvZ, I'm using NP to take lurkers out of engagements and steal their DPS. Bonus: the type of spread that's insanely easy to do with Infested Terrans is perfect for absorbing Lurker fire if you can't get an NP off. I just played a game where I had 1 Hydra and 3 Infestors beat 6 Lurkers with even upgrades. Value city!
Vs. P, I've found less use (because no one builds disruptors), but I've found situationally you can use it to stop Warp Prism harass. NP the prism when it's empty to steal the advantage, or an Immortal when it's on the ground to prevent its call back.
Has anyone else played around with NP in the current meta? Or am I just winning because my opponents are bad?

i cant find a simple QnA thread for broodwar, hope someone can help me tho. i keep on repeating on readjusting my hotker in sc remastered, but unfortunately, only my terran hotkey remains the same, when i toggle to the protoss and zerg hotkeys,, they are reverted to default whenever i log out and back in again, before, I tried copy pasting my hotkey setup and just repaste it whenever I use my account at the computer shop, but now, even that can't help me, so every log-in, i had to use 7-10 mins just readjusting my hotkey, before i can even go play, which by then, my eagerness to play has already passed by.. what should i do?

Has anyone else played around with NP in the current meta? Or am I just winning because my opponents are bad? i think neural parasite has always been a potentially strong spell, the problem with it is usually more in the application. keeping infestors alive and not dying before you get to them can be an issue, and they also share the swarm host problem of being useless after they spend their energy
people use weird playstyles all the way up to GM, so if you happen to love infestors and you're actually decent at controlling them/getting results with them i don't see any reason you should stop. but basing your army around infestors as zerg is a scary balancing act. i would have a hard time seeing how they're good in ZvT with the terran meta being so tank heavy - once they identify infestors they should just be scanning all the time and targeting down infestors with tanks, and although you claim to have stolen a lot of medivacs i'm pretty sure medivacs are highly microable if they know you're going to try to hit them with infestors
part of why you're winning in diamond (and i'm around your level too) probably has to do with the fact that in diamond you have a lot of mechanically strong players who aren't so hot at scouting or army control, so statistically you're going to run into a lot of people who just don't realize you have infestors until they walk into a fungal, or don't know what to do against infestors because they rarely play against them. winning like that is kind of like winning because your opponent just never had any idea where your army was or what your composition was
but by all means, there's no way for anyone to get good at playing infestors without playing them, so maybe you're on to something. keep doing it if you like it, and if you think it has potential then keep trying to find ways to shortcut around its weaknesses. as a diamond player i tend to "trust" playstyles when they seem functional in high master to GM, but then again i purposely play "bad" and cheesy styles too, so i'm not one to criticize

When you split your drones the center of the minerals is not always the fastest source of minerals.
Cross scouting is a gamble, but opens up builds you get if you skip corners.
I transfer 4 drones, you can transfer 1 for every mineral patch...

Hi, I'm mostly a BW guy just playing team games for fun in SC2, what are some 2v2 BO's I should follow as Z?
I feel kind of lost.

Anyone know pick and go channels for games? I'm ~master leag toss and sometimes I just wanna focus on one matchup. Super bums me out when i'm hyped for build but can't rly do it since f10n on ladder if opponent is wrong race isn't plausible.
gnomister#2498 if anyone here wanna add me. I'm eu player but can do us east servers.
Back in the day i played like 8 hours a day and 7.5h of those were with random ppl in custom games. Now i dunno where to get them because of new bnet. So far I've joined toptierprac discord, reddit discord, clan discord, joined a clan and asked opponents to rematch and tried teamliquid channel. Tried even irc. I made post in some subreddit where ppl look for partners too.

2v2s tend to have a lot of all-ins, so try to see what your opponent is doing. Open up 17 hatch 16 gas 16 pool. Once you get speed, take 1 drone off gas. If theres a zerg, dont skip a baneling nest. If youre not sure what your opponent is doing, making a spore in each of your mineral lines is not a bad idea. If an attack is coming soon, it can be worth it to invest in a roach warren.
As for compositions, ling/bane/muta or roach/hydra/lurker are both pretty strong. Feel it out, see what you like in each situation. The compsotion you go with depends on the map, the enemies' and their comps, and how the game has played out so far.
As for matchups, really be careful of double zerg. You'll usually see either two fast pools or one player going +1 lings into mutas and the other going roaches. Protoss will usually go for a timing off two bases or turtle and get a really strong lategame comp. Be really careful for cyclone/hellbat pushes from terran. Double stargate mass phoenix from protoss is also a really dangerous threat and I'm not quite sure how to deal with it, other than trying to get a really strong economy and getting enough hydras and spores to ward them off
Just my two cents for now. Hope this helps!

First, I was intrigued by the topic headline: "Simple Questions, Simple Answers,".
I like the construction. lol😂😀😁

Why is the required mmr for master league so high this season? Last season I needed around 4440 mmr in order to get promoted to master. Now it's 4640... Are you kidding me? Is there a reason behind this?

Your rank isnt based on your mmr, but rather a hidden ELO ranking combined with an uncertainty variable. The uncertainty variable will increase if you win or lose a lot in a row, making it harder to win rank based on just a lucky streak. This is why you sometimes gain rank after losing a match.

It used to actually be higher, like 4760 before free to play. When the update brought a big influx of players last year, they had to lower the requirement so that masters was still the top 4% players, as most new players obviously populated lower leagues. 4% of 450 000 ranked 1v1 accounts is way more than 4% of 300 000. But the skill of people around master skill level didn't change to reflect that, so top dia 1 basically all got promoted. The tiers have slowly upped again since then as the hype of free to play started to die down.
In short, population affects mmr tiers.

In the mod Left 2 Die Enhanced, how are you supposed to build a Supply Depot, so as to build more Barracks?

Are you kidding me? Is there a reason behind this? MMR is more meaningful than league anyway. league is just a general reference we're given as a visual aid to tracking our progress whereas MMR is supposed to be a literal reflection of your results (not that it's perfect, but it's an actual formula rather than an arbitrary tier table). if your MMR is the same and you're upset about your league then you're missing the point of how advancement works

Posted this in toss help me thread, but that thread can take a while to get a response, so ill post here as well:
Assuming scout after 14 pylon in PvT, you scout they are proxying, have taken both gasses. What gas count should you expect to be missing from refineries in order to determine they are proxying cyclones? does fast double gas guarantee cyclone rush or could it be something else?
