Hello!
I bought Starcraft 2 3 days ago and I decided to learn TheCore from early on to make my experience better... However, there is a problem: My keyboard layout is apparently not supported.
I am from Brazil and I use this keyboard layout: http://wiki.laptop.org/go/OLPC_Portuguese_Keyboard
What to do?

still need terran 2.0 yo
can anyone summarize the difference for terran between terran and random? I want to just use TRM but I do switch between terran and zerg sometimes. Or should I just use TRM and ZRM?
|
Just started using it, it feels so hard at first, anyone know of any video series of a Zerg player trying to adapt to it? I'm thinking of using the staircase on another server (for a fresh account) to get used to the mechanics, is that a good idea? Thanks!
|
I also really don't understand the Master Spreadsheet for 2.0 at all, I am colorblind and I think that has something to do with it, is there a simpler source where I can see the suggested hotkeys for Zerg CGs and Cameras?
|
@TheV, I use thestaircase and thecore to get back after a very long sc2 break. I think having the two together is a REALLY good idea, it's especially important to be able to disconnect "playing well" and "winning game" (as explained in thestaircase), but overall use the staircase as it's supposed to be used, just with thecore as hotkeys. I must say that I had tons of fun using the two, it's really awesome. I still recommend doing the custom map to help you remember the hotkeys (it's in thecore OP), it really helps, I did it as a warm-up, like 5-10 min before thestaircase matchs (ladder).
@lupadim, there's a section in the OP explaining what you have to do if your keyboard layout isn't supported. I haven't tried it though.

How much time does it take for The Core team to produce a new hotkey set for a keyboard layout? I've already sent them the e-mail
|
We need you to more accurately follow the instructions in the video. QWERTY=Portuguese format, not Sc2Command=Portuguese format.
|
All right, I sent you a new e-mail with hopefully the correct info

Terran 2.0 is uploaded to the github, enjoy

Any diamond or better Terrans use this? I can't find anyone who actually uses these properly. Some support from any terran users be great...is it me or is there no smooth way to control 3 bodies of units..what's thecore equivilent to 1a2a3a...;jojlj??
|
Hey should I use The Core 1.0 or 2.0? What are the differences? I am a real beginner and I just started using the 1.0 one because it looks like more people use it but maybe 2.0 is better?
EDIT: I just tested it and it feels really weird... The chat was on TAB before, now its on Apostrophe... And the barracks are now on 9, not on I. Is 2.0 really better?.

we wouldn't have made 2.0 if it wasn't more efficient than 1.0

Which fingers should be on J, I and O? Currently my middle finger is on O, the "fourth" finger is on I and the index finger is switching between two control groups (P and [), is any finger wrong? (this thread doesn't have the finger guide for 2.0)

Hello,
Just started playing a few days ago. I bought a razer orbweaver and a razer naga gaming mouse. I have been searching for the core setups using these two but haven't had any luck. I currently set it up using the PRM file as suggested for people with a regular keyboard. Played a few practice games and realized I do not have the control and shift function. Since I am new I don't have any bad habits yet and want to start practicing with the layout that is optimized for this equipment. If anyone has any suggestions on how to move forward I would appreciate the help. Thanks to all who designed the core.

@lupadim: The finger position has not changed since TheCore 1.0. So this graphic is still valid, if you are using the medium sized layout: http://i.imgur.com/stLa5Zk.gif (pinky J, ring I, middle O and index P)
@Finoodlz: Hey there and welcome to SC2. Unfortunately TheCore does not support the Razer Orbweaver, at least as far as I know. This is, because TheCore 2.0 uses 24 keys on the keyboard with 3 modifiers and the Razor Orbweaver only has 20 keys with 2 modifiers (if the 2 thumb keys only work as 2 keys. I am only looking at a picture atm). Maybe you could bind some of the least important keys on a free modified key. You might want to check out the Spreadsheet here.
But there are also good news: The Orbweaver already does many things right, that we are trying to improve with TheCore for a normal keyboard. Things like the thumb usage is already encouraged with the orbweaver and the keys are also aligned vertically. So I think you might be happy with the grid layout. Or you can check out TheCore light: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/333891-thecore-lite-advanced-keyboard-layout I do not have much experience with it, but it looks like it uses less keys. So maybe you can tailor it to your needs

You can always look at the following link which explains how someone optimized their setup for mordern hardware: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-strategy/435674-optimizing-your-play-with-modern-hardware

Hello, I've been playing with TheCore (version 1 zrs) for more than half a year now and am pretty accustomed and happy with it. Recently I've been playing the Swarm Host Mod. In this mod every terran unit gets stim, including the SCV. This results in a conflict with the default SCV build button. My preferred keyboard setup for this mod would be that every unit except the SCV will have stim at the default Core Button ('p' for zrs), but for the SCV this should be build (reason for this is that I dont want to unlearn the hotkeys for normal play). Is this somehow possible?

Hey guys. Im on a quest to find the best hotkey setup for SC2 and TheCore looks cool. How ever I cant help but to feel skeptic about it since nobody "big" in the sc2 scene has ever mentioned it?? Is core good?:o

Hey I've been using the core for a few years now (0.6.2 slightly modified) and something that came up the past year or so was that I cannot recreate my control group 2 (ctr+shft+0) for TRM. I can make it with ctrl+0 and select it with 0 but cannot create it with the aforementioned key presses. I'd really like to be able to use this group again for something other than my scouting worker later in the game so any advice would be great.
Oh and I checked the in client setup and create control group 2 is properly setup as Control+Shift+0
