How do you push Ctrl+Shift for create CG? with 2 fingers or one? What fingers? If I use 2 fingers I lost the hand position por push CGkey for create. What about your cameras? they have the same keys than CGS?

Sometimes I do not press Shift and Control properly with my thumb, which leads to a mess up with my CGs. I found that this problem mostly occures for the combination Ctrl+Shift+; . The ; key is too close to shift and control to press those two keys properly with my thumb. This problem occurs especially when cycling all the bases for injects. It also affects the 9 key, but not as much as ; . I decided to use 0 instead of ; , because it feels better to me (and moved 'add to CG 1' to ; ). No idea, if this is a general or personal problem. Another idea that came to my mind today: Maybe we should switch the key for Drones and Zerglings. While playing I am often building a certain number of drones to saturate a bases. To not build too few or too many, I hit the J key for every drone I want to build. When building Zerglings, I often just press and hold P until all my larva or minerals are gone (except maybe for the early game). I personally can press the same key a lot fast with the index finger than with my pinky. So I think it would be a good idea to have drones on the index finger and lings on the pinky. @Estevez: Hey and sorry. I totally forgot that there have been a lot more changes to TheCore 2.0 than I thought. So I would advise you to not look at my screenshots, as most CGs and Cams are different from the latest version of TheCore 2.0 This table should help you with your problems: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1BlWdsCP8qVPrnBmbb2J_JAxE4lFH5xOAzTA8rvyACoA/edit#gid=376850630 Those are the key positions for the English keyboard and the medium layout. And, as reps)squishy already said, you press ctrl and shift with your thumb. It is a bit tricky, but doable. edt: just realized that swtiching drone and lings would mess with the other races worker production and the attack command. No idea, if we put consistency for offracing over improvements of the main race.

My OCD makes me feel like I'll be using a non-ideal keyboard set by using Random... (even though I'm probably overanalyzing)

The different layouts are not game changing different. They have small advantages over each other and some draw backs. We tried to match each race to the best layout. But it is likely that we did not factor in every aspect into those decisions. So I do not think that the you miss a lot, when chosing the random layout over a race specific one.

I'm remapping it anyway because I hit it by mistake sometimes, locking me out of doing any actions until I hit Escape, but thought I should flag this issue.

Thanks for the info. I acutally have no idea, why the uk version does not use the enter key. Will look into it. @Slayer189: The video is a little out dated. The files are on dropbox now. The link in the Download section should open a dropbox folder named "TheCore". Within this folder are the hotkey layouts. Just tested it, and it worked for me. Maybe you have the dropbox desktop application installed and this opens the link instead of your browser. But it should work anyway, although I have no experience with this application.

Of course, I understand this is part of what TheCore aimed to do -- redistributing keys based solely on frequency of access and finger load -- but I was under the impression there would still be some degree of structured layout. So am I missing any general layout patterns, or is it basically a matter of learning an entirely new alphabet, with no "spatial" help as to where things are and/or might be?

I've tried the layout for ZRM 1.0 and it works just fine for me. However it's been a while since I tried thecore and if it's better I'd rather use 2.0 because of the fresh start... unless I can't do the basics because of my keyboard For reference, I am used to grouping queens and base cam-ing through to inject. I would prefer to use camera inject. Thanks

It can be done on NKRO keyboards and non-NKRO keyboards, it can be done on mechanical keyboards and non-mechanical keyboards. A lot of people like to say that X is the reason it does or does not work, but nothing I've read has been true yet. (and also not wanting to, as I prefer visually seeing each of my bases). Is there a way to easily queen inject with this layout without rapid fire? So far I have two possible ways: (with US QWERTY) pressing '-' and '=' individually and repeatedly, and selecting queens (cg prefs say 'u' key), inject key '-', doesn't make too much sense IMO. The advantage of using those keys to inject only exists when using RF, otherwise its less consistency/control. then camera cg's (ctr+shift+ {j p o i ;} in that order. The camera shifting is okay but I'm unsure about how I am supposed to select queens and their larvae ability, as it doesn't feel at all fluent. Is this how the layout was setup, should I do it differently, This option will give you the most speed and control. keep in mind that j is not a camera. the cameras are poi. the action sequence for injecting is: - select queen control group = bring up inject targeting mode hold ctrl+shift lock in targeting mode p left click inject hatch 1 o left click inject hatch 2 i left click inject hatch 3 or should I not use it at all due to the lack of nkro? alternating RF works on some non-nkro keyboards I've tried the layout for ZRM 1.0 and it works just fine for me. Thanks TheCore 2.0 was designed specifically to allow for the best possible camera inject and rapid fire inject (as there are situations when using rapid fire inject is inferior to the camera inject). I play lefty so I may have gotten a conversion wrong, let me know how this works out and if all else fails, get in the hotkey options in game and look at your binds.

- select queen control group = bring up inject targeting mode hold ctrl+shift lock in targeting mode p left click inject hatch 1 o left click inject hatch 2 i left click inject hatch 3 The problem I add using this is that since there is a "shift", the inject is queued if the queen is doing something else. So when a queen is attacking drops or phoenix (can be an action given or just auto-attack because the queen was idle when the enemy came close) she won't inject before finishing the current action, resulting in a delayed inject. In most cases, you would want her to go inject immediately regardless of what she is attacking. Am I missing something or is it expected when using this inject method ?

Create CG2 - Shift+I: Works Add to CG2 - Ctrl+I: Works Jump to Loc 4: Ctrl+Shift+I: Doesn't work (SC2 just goes with Shift+I or Ctrl+I, depending on what I've triggered first.) How is it possible with Ctrl+Shift+I to jump to a location, when Shift+I & Ctrl+I are binded to CGs. Is Ctrl+Shift a single key I don't know about?
