maybe someone has at least somewhat nice builds like that as counterplay vs some opponent builds in all MUs?
someone showed a one base burrow roach rush vs T. looked quite good. I think it was starbuck vs tajea
I found the game, starbuck lost though but its taeja so its understandable. I can't find english vod. I can write up build if have time

in ATC starbuck also opened 2 base ling/ultra into infestors, 2/2 melee and adrenal glands against MMA, did a lot of damage, almost killed him and transitioned into a late macro swarm host/brood lord vs mech game. he eventually lost, but he was ahead for a while. he lost like 50-60 workers to BFH and banshees, if he had defended better at home the style would have looked incredible. he also massively bungled the final engagement
not saying its "secretly viable" or whatever but if it can sorta work once against MMA it can work on ladder
Hi guys, for my larva injects i use single hatch per hotkey method so i can see the progress of the injects and build units on a specific hatchery (e.g. overlords on saturated base and drones on others), but it's kinda slow (having to manually select queen etc). How do people using other methods like all queens on one CG or queen per CG stay on top of their injects? I find queen energy to be a bit misguiding because you will miss injects during the game and if you use one group for all queens your injects have to be synchronized right (not to mention the wandering queen syndrome)?

Use camera hotkeys for each base instead of 1 hatch per hotkey and box queens for injects. This is what most pros do from replays I've watched especially jaedong. It might take a while to get used to but this method prevents queens from running around to wrong bases (wandering queen syndrome). Also using camera hotkeys often, greatly helps with dealing drops.

That's similar to 1 hotkey per hatch isnt it? I already box queens. You might argue that it is a bit faster since it doesnt require a double tap, but now i have to jump around bases to check on the inject status.

Im still just puting my queens on one hotkey and then manually zoom around and inject. :-)

You can also have only one control group with a single hatchery to check your inject status and use camera locations to inject.
@Velvex That would mean my injects have to be synced. Is that something that people usually concede to, i mean, skipping an inject to have an easier time injecting all hatcheries at the same time at a later point in the game?
Dunno, if your injects are so perfect that they never synchronise, then the method is probably not for you. But then you're most certainly at least top GM material, and my advice should be pretty much irrelevant to you ...
i think its unrealistic to expect to be hitting injects asynchronously, in fact that could mess up your cycles and create more frequent distractions from army control etc
i mean if you know one hatchery is out of synch then sure you can try to go hit the inject faster but sooner or later its probably just going to be easier to resynch and dump energy on creep tumors
The only bad habit with injecting is using backspace to cycle through hatcheries afaik. Camera hotkeys + boxing requires the least amount of clicks while also preventing queens from running around.
If you are new you shouldnt worry about it so much. As long as you spend your larva and can maintain your inject queens below 50 energy for the entire game then you are good.
I camera hotkey and box queens as well. You don't even have to box the queen accurately. As long as you don't have any other casters in the group v+lmb will inject. Camera hotkeys are a great tool and if you get used to them for injecting they'll benefit you elsewhere as well.
You can check out inject timings on GM games on ggtracker and tell that no one really keeps perfect injects, sync'd or async'd.
Is there a decent guide somewhere to dealing with skytoss? Once there are a bunch of voids out, no matter what I do I just die to it. I'm plat at the moment.
The other is.. what's the best thing to do once you've been cannon contained? I can stop it alot of the time, but sometimes either a pylon wall or too many cannons contains me completely, and by the time i bust out i'm always a base down and pretty much out of the game. Is the queen/spine combo posted earlier still the best bet once this wall is up?
Also a random quick thanks to SC2John, who's posting here has probably contributed at least 90% to my improvement at the game lately heh

Why is the backspace method a "bad habit"? It's the inject method I use currently, O_o So I would really like to know the reason behind this labelling.

This was discussed in this thread a couple of weeks ago. What I do:
I have zerglings on 2 and banes on 4. I don't add zergling eggs to the control group, I rally to the fight. When I make banes, I add the cocoons to 4. Then I select all army units (bound to the left-of-1 key, the "TLO bind"), control-click the zerglings and bind them to 2.
This method may not be perfect, but it saves you both the control-shift-clicks and control-clicking of zergling eggs.

It's just bad if you go into autopilot mode because you can end up with "wandering queen" syndrome if you're not careful. Overall, I don't disagree with this method at all, and in late game situations, it might be even superior to camera hotkeys. But overall, I think the time difference between this and using camera hotkeys is fairly negligible and it eliminates any chance that your queens might just start walking all over the map aimlessly.

I disagree with this method, but I suppose it works nonetheless. The other more standard method is binding everything to your hotkey and deselecting all banelings from your hotkey group by ctrl + shift + clicking the baneling eggs and then rebinding the zerglings (+ zergling eggs) to your hotkey. Then just ctrl + click or double-click to select all banelings and rehotkey them.

Ok, this is an issue of which I was aware and mitigate as much as I can. Thanks for the response.
