I feel like 2-1-1 is too overplayed and every zerg knows how to respond against it now. What are some other TvZ strategies that exist right now that I could try learning?
So first the 2-1-1 works just not on all maps and with a certain follow-up. Do the quicker 1-1 variant as it is stronger than the 3rd first. Secondly, you may find these builds very useful
Otherbuilds would be Hellbat Banshee (Hellion Banshee with armory (8-2/3 Hellion:Banshee) or Hellbat Raven Banshee (8 hellbats 1 raven 1-2 banshee)
If you want more help let me know in PM ill show you my other builds in game
So which maps does 2-1-1 not work on?
I wouldn't do the 2-1-1 on like Paladino or Honorgrounds. I prefer doing it on Cactus, Bel'shir, Proxima and sometimes Abyssal. On Paladino, Abyssal and Honorgrounds just open hellion. Oh and on newkirk do that RFE 3CC (3rax 1 fac fast 3cc/3CC4Hellion)
Could you explain why you wouldn't do the 2-1-1 on Paladino or Honorgrounds?
On Paladino the 2-1-1 is not a safe build at all. Most All-ins will straight up just kill you. It is better to open hellion banshee on that map in my opinion. On Honorgrounds it is mostly preference but I just find a hellion opener to be the much stronger opener, Because (Since I know you'll ask why) The ramp on honorgrounds is hella hard to block sneaking in hellions into the main or natural is so easy. And you can do very greedy fast third bases on that map and deny creep instead if you prefer. Also at the moment, I think most Terrans are finding Hellion/Raven, Hellbat/Banshee and quick 3rd's with Hellion builds to be more dominant. Aside from that I just feel safer doing those builds. Personally, I love the 4Hellion3CC build the best but I like to throw hellbat banshee games in my games every now and then
I see what you mean. I switched up my build orders and have been finding more success. Thank you for the recommendations.

On Paladino you will die to roach/ravager 1-2 base and on Honorgrounds there's not enough places you can attack through except straight at the 3rd which is..kinda bad.
I stopped playing Terran at Lotv launch, just hated it.
Now im getting matched in TvP and fcking game it's sad !
First game I went in after barracks, checked 1 pylon (Proxy)... scouted all the map and found nothing. Min 3/4 oracle gg. (Had music so no alert). Replay: Missed one spot and proxy was spotted there.
Second game. Other proxy, I go with opening 50 gas reactor fast expand (Old School), didn't found the proxy and got destroyed by oracle (Because I had natural, my marines was only in one side of the map.
Third game, other proxy. When I found it with my marines it was too late, he had inmortal and stalkers and I fcked up.
I'm pretty sure it's in part of playing not refined bo at Diamond 1 (Used to be masters).
Last game, my build worked, first push I found phoenixes and adepts, I go with LOT of marines and 2 medivacs (Old Bomber push) and got repelled, man, this shooting pylons are worst than the hots one lol.
Game was ok but he massed carriers and he just destroyed me.
I'm eating a lot of cheese (And I am scouting) but it seems so fast.
Someone got a macro build to go TvP ? How to scout? Reaper is a must? I'm so clueless and frustrated.
Would love to have some advice, because right now I'm hating the game. And those maps are so big it's hard to spot proxies.

I get a 2nd factory all the time if I can. However in some cases for people there isn't enough time as the late game comes and people are more focussed on getting other units out like liberators and ghosts (More starports and a ghost academy) to deal with units like broodlords and ultralisks. And as a result people skip that second factory. However there are some games where against a style like mass muta and banes people will opt for 1x thor and 2x widows or some games vs ravagers people will even opt for 2-3 factory tank production. It depends on the pace of the game and what style of units you like. Me personally I like to go 7-3-1 vs Roach Ravager and 8-2-1 vs LingbaneMuta However if I see hive before then getting ghost cloak and lib range takes priority
like holy shit do they really think that removing a single gas geyser on one base makes the map terran friendly enough to make up for the fact that by the time I make it to my opponents base starcraft 3 has come out?
am i crazy or are these maps like incredibly bad for T? why are we making a map pool with like 80% new maps when we have plenty of maps that are good and balanced? why are we making a map pool with like 80% garbage maps?
this is just so stupid. these maps are beyond bad, im amazed that a human brain actually designed sequencer
On May 07 2017 07:59 Poopi wrote: Is it just me or most of the new maps are very zerg favored? It's a bit painful to play
They are apparently Terran Favored. Do you do Tank pushes?? they are effective on that map.
according to who? according to what? are you just saying this? because if we did see pros play here, terran would lose most games easy. pros dont win and lose games because "tank pushes are good on this map" their games are influenced 10x more strongly by basic shit like "how long did it take terrans units to walk across the map"
we wont see pros play these maps btw, no tournament pool will make their players deal with this..

Veto Sequencer. It is bad for Terran, at least in my opinion. Bloodboil, ugly but best map for Terran do tank pushes on it or go heavy turtle mech. Personally, I am just going to do mech in all my TvZ's on it. Ascension to Aiur is a very large map drop the crap out of it and do multiprong harasses, vs Protoss and Zerg you'll tear the crap out of any nonphoenix adept armies. Odyessy standard play is fine. The other map defenders landing is also a pretty solid map always depot scout though since its kind of a rush map and vs Zerg break those rocks down and wall the other ramp (Destroy rocks later). If you still find these maps hard to play on its probably an issue with you as a player mechanically or mentally. Watch some replays of your losses.
hi so i am trying out mech for the first time and I am trying to do hellion+banshee(or raven) in to a near max attack around 11-12min. I am having mixed result but I am atleast for the most part able to identify what is going wrong. However when the zerg is staying on ling heavy compositions with or out without banelings my big attack just gets completely wiped out (with banelings it is even worse but only lings seems to destroy me just fine as well). From there on zergs usually close it out with broodlords, but whatever would work.
So a couple of questions 1. So basically what tank/thor/hellion/hellbat/viking ratio should I have? 2. what are some key points to take a good engagement? 3. Any other way to use his unit composition to my advantage.

http://lotv.spawningtool.com/build/47458/ - PiG did a cover on this build, its very advanced I won't lie (for beginners at least) but its super effective. You could also open Hellbat Banshee (GasFirst RFE into 8 hellbats 2 banshee push)
But for the questions
1. Your production cycle should be 5 factories on 2-3 base with 1 starport 2 reactors 3 techlabs for factories 2 armories 1 reactor for starport 4x Hellions, 3 Tanks (1-2 thors depending on their muta count you only need a max of 4) and constant 2x vikings up to 18-21 2x Depot Consistently Drop 2nd armory latest after third (Third should start @ 6:00) All of your depots should be used for making walls after your third drop the 4th CC whenever you accumulate 400 minerals.
2. Typically I never push out with mech until I am at 180+ with 2/2 until then I am harassing with libs from starport (you can make some) or hellion runby's
3. Lingbane vs mech is awful. Put the thors infront and say sup each thor will take 21 banelings also leap frog siege don't siege all the tanks at once in 1 area siege like 2-3 at a time and slowly leap forward starting from outside of his base. Also if they get broodlords after you kill their army unsiege tanks, swith thors to high impact do not leave tanks sieged they will friendlyfire kill your own thors.
Additionally if you ever scout spire that is when you start thors if you don't see a spire you don't need to make them right away try to get atleast 2 though I suppose. Also on 3 base double sensor tower. However if you do see a spire (make sure to scan at 6:00 or count their gasses with reaper) start 2-3 missile turrets in each mineral line (1 at each then 2 at the rest when you get the $) Try to have your tanks a bit far apart and sieged around your base and remember to have those walls raised until you're leaving, they buy time for you.
Finally : If you have more questions about mech please feel free to send a reply for questions or PM me and I can add you and show you ingame how I play mech.
