ZvZ is the mode in a Strategy game for a long time, that brings minimum fun for me. However I get matched with a lot of zergs lately....
Can anyone help me what I´m doing wrong? Here one example against an ex-diamond player. I thought I should be ahead, but it doesn´t matter if I go for 2 fast bases or 1 base with fast upgrade and zergs, I always end with less Zerglings than my enemy?!?!

Thanks in advance.

Your Spending Quote is bad.
This means you don't spend your money fast enough. Your opponent also saturates his bases way way faster. Drone up more!

Well I just watched your replay, if you open up one base you really have to deal damage right away otherwise your opponent will always be ahead of you. By the time your first few lings reach your opponent he has his queens and a few lings out. Your lings do nothing, he has an xpo, more drones... Im not sure why at any point you would think you're ahead.
Making extra ovies is good later in the game when you have the spare minerals for it, but early making two ovies like you did cut your drones. Your first ovie sent out got sniped, should always mind where you send them, you should have kept him going and partked outside the front of your oppenents natural or just behind the mineral line out of sight so you can check to see if your opponent is droning or not.
You might think of going 14 ovie, extractor/drone, cancel extracter, instead of waiting til your 14 ovie pops.
A few pointers in this game, if you have banelings, always leave one at your ramp to your main, and one in your mineral line. Im not sure your reasoning for the spire, at the time you started it you had no gas, or had enough gases to make mutas by the time your spire would pop.

Well, even a quick look shows you SQ is horrendous, so that's a problem right there let us take a closer look.

wow, okay, yeah, where do we start, I'm not gonna get into the fine details because we aren't there at the moment but let's talk broad strokes. You open a sort of 14/14 into bane nest before speed, that's a defensive build, you can't be the attacker because he will have ling speed before you and just snipe your lings, so you should be taking a quick natural, you aren't. at 2:00 you should and you have the minerals to take your expansion. you don't. you instead make a roach warren, there is zero reason get both the RW and the BN before your expand, you can't roach rush and bane rush. and you don't seeming to be making a timing attack anyway, so why are you delaying your expand? You make one queen, do one inject and then a spore and send it off. The first commandment of Zerg is to never miss an inject. So yeah, no queen equals no injects equals a ton less larvae. If you start a second queen the exact moment the first one pops you can send the first queen and the 2nd will come out in time for the next inject. From there it's pointless to comment further, you are on one uninjected hatch against a double injected hatch, you have no way of spending even your one base income and going lair there is well, just odd. I wrote these ten commandments of zerg play on another thread by they belong here as well:
1. Thou shall never miss an inject. 2. Thou shall never become supply blocked. 3. Thou shall hotkey your units while they are still eggs into separate control groups, for never should the muta reside with the ling. 4. Thou shall make at least one dedicated creep queen and cover the land with it's flesh. 5. Thou should assign camera keys and use them to move from hatch to hatch, for the sight of the overmind leaps and does not drag. 6. Thou shall make drones until you reach 74 ( three bases with 16/16 and 6 on gas and one base with 8 on minerals ) 7. Thou shall scout your opponent at 3:15 and 5:15 and know of their designs. 8. When faced with those not of the swarm thou should keep one more base then them at all time. 9. The swarm embraces all, spread your arms wide before a fight and envelop your foes. 10. Yearn not for low-tech ways of the unswarmed, let your mind elevate to the learning of hive.
Also, you lose your first overlord, that's horrible, you can sacrifice an overlord later but to lose it at that timing is almost game ending by itself at higher levels, you are losing the minerals, the larvae and the time you're supply blocked. Horrendous.

I remember when I used to fucking destest ZvZ for the longest time.
Learn to love it bro, or at least to be adept enough to feel a bit of confidence in the match up. There are definitely ways to open up safely and not die to seemingly random all ins. Mostly with good scouting but honestly I don't see a whole lot of reason to open up with 14/14, that's like an old school speedling expand opening but you didn't do the expand part.
^ The guy above me got it right the commandments are the way to play the Swarm.

Thanks for your posts :D Little backstory here : I´m coming from the old "Strategy" Genre, I liked playing the Settlers games back then and RedAlert games. Now such good games don´t really exist anymore, StarCraft is the only one surviving :_/ so I gave it a try one year ago with the singleplayer. It´s really fun, but yeah the Multiplayer is just different. You need to think about so many things in such a short time. If I want to play "well" I would need to invest more time into the game I guess Which is currently not possible with my university schedule. It´s fun, because I find it sad that these strategy game don´t exist anymore, but more games like Heroes of the Storm/Dota/Lol are coming out, on the other side I play multiplayer and get frustrated and understand why such rts games are rare these days :D
However I got what you meant more or less. I mean, I´m already improving I guess xD Hit Bronze in Hots and am rank 2 in silver in lotv haha
PS: I looked it up. ZvZ is pretty "boring" in my opinion, like I already said. My winrates : vs P = 67% / vs T = 55% / vs Z = 29% xD Says it all.

What do you mean? You don't need to be good to enjoy a game. It dosen't matter how good you are, you will always default at 50% wins, and then according to your form and "skill delta", it will increase or decrease your rank accordingly! Even so, it's possible to enjoy losing, too. Personally I have the most fun when i'm met with a challenge.
