You can of course make sure that they cannot attack air and ground simultaneously... but it would open up harass potential and reduce APM capabilities... both things Blizzard seems to be a fan of... An oracle can reveal, see your army for God knows how long AND attack ground at an insane rate.... im just asking for a unit that costs as much not to be able to be a transformer to do what it does usually... ANYONE IN??!!

I don't think that buffing the Ground DPS/Damage to match air will do much in terms of Harass. Terrain already has a lot of harassing options coming out of the starport (drops, Libs, Banshees) so it isn't filling any actual needed role. Not only that, but that contradicts with the Less APM unit Idea, as harasses are high in APM. I like Ryu's suggestion of turning the viking into something more of a interceptor. Something that can chase down medviacs and what not, and be a sort of anti-harass type of unit. O | ||

It pushes the micro capability of the Viking as well It should be kinda like a phoenix (or what it was suppose to be) in a way. Libs are needed in the game now. Especially against my race (zerg) endgame unit. I don't think the Lib is really healthy for T's ability to have diversity, but the game rn is built around it. | ||

Buff vipers and hydras, they both seem really useless right now except cloud vs muta and hydras for zvp just to make lurkers. I don't really know any situation where hydras are a better choice than queens. It'd be cool if blinding cloud was buffed. But I've never heard anyone complain about vikings. But speaking from a zerg potv. I don't really know about the other match-ups. | ||

Aside from that Hydras are very good in ZvP and they are not made just for lurkers. However they could maybe receive a general speed boost? instead of just 25% extra on creep. Vipers are fine the way they are now Maybe increase the energy gain speed from their drain ability? Aside from that Viking doesn't need a ground harassment that is not what it was made for, yes it could be cool but it would be a very useless change. Vikings in TvP are meant to kill Tempests and Colossi they are only landed when all of those are dead to add extra DPS (which isn't much extra) In TvT Vikings need to be alive and in the air so you control the pace of the game. TvZ Vikings are just going to die if they are landed. The viking I guess is a cool unit when landed but it really doesn't need a change to its ground. My idea of suggesting a viking buff on its AA was because in a 1 on 1 its actually possible for voidrays to beat vikings (very easily) and vikings vs tempests is a joke. Now don't get me wrong I don't want vikings to be able to 1v1 Tempests but I want them to do their job. I want them to be able to effectively fight things like voidrays, Speed prisms (they literally won't die..) and maybe even make it riskier to stay longer with a medivac after dropping somewhere. The general point im trying to make is the viking.. sucks. its an Anti air that really is pretty useless vs anything but colossus tempest and air control in TvT. The sad part is the amount of vikings you get can sometimes be really bad for your general army in TvP (Not always im not a pro don't hold me to this im judging this off of my personal experience) As well the liberator is literally a better anti air unit. Its faster it has a good ground siege it has splash and its a good unit I love liberators. The viking is useless though it needs its anti air mode buffed. | ||

Vikings were meant to be made for air superiority, and then land to supplement your army. We don't need vikings to be good harass tools, because terrans already have that in spades. | ||

I do think they need a buff in the form of faster transformation between modes. It is too slow to use them as a harrassment tool and a significantly faster transformation would make them much more effective. | ||
