Hey, I'm platinum league across the board, and I've gone back to trying to play Zerg. Out of all the races, they're definitely the one I'm least confident playing as. I'm never hugely sure of what I should be doing. I've kept my mmr level with Terran, Protoss, and Random despite this.
In this match, the opponent accused me of cheesing him. In the moment I denied this, but that was mostly just because he was kind of being a dick, and there was some instinct there to rebuke him no matter what he said.
But I don't actually know that he was wrong.
I dropped a bunch of lings into his main before switching focus on making drones again. The match ended shortly afterword however since I managed a full sweep of his worker count, and had enough lings/queens left over to deal with what was left of his army. A big part of the reason the attack worked well was that he was moving out when the lings landed.
However, if this is a cheese, and I can't realistically expect to hold a longer game doing this, I'd rather avoid the strategy. I just thought it was a nice aggressive opening to score some worker kills and threaten my opponent with before focusing on saturating my second base.
Is this guy right about this attack being untenable in the long run?
