CyberGamer presents the Pan-Pacific Championship hybrid tournament. In this event we seek to spark the rivalry between North Americans and their cousins across the Pacific in Australia and New Zealand. After playing together in nearly every Blizzard game the friendly rivalries were dampened somewhat when the Oceania players were relegated to the SEA server but now with NA server access we want to re-ignite these friendships and rivalries! This is part Invitational part Qualifier event with a US$500 prizepool. There will be live coverage of the 16-player finals and possibly of select qualifier finals.
Details Four invites from North America and four invites from Oceania (see below) will join four qualifiers from America and four qualifiers from Oceania to compete in the finals of this event. In the first round every North American player will be matched up against an Oceanic player. Additionally, in round 1 every Invited player will be matched up against a Qualifier. This means that North American invites play Oceanic Qualifiers, Oceanic Invites play North American Qualifiers, and so on.
Date: 4th December (USA) Time: 8PM Central (6PM Eastern, 9PM Eastern) Structure: 16-player single elimination Format: Bo3 until Semis (Bo5), 3rd Playoffs (Bo5) and Finals (Bo5) Participants: Permanent resident or citizen of USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand.
PrizesPrizes are in United States Dollars and will be issued via PayPal1st place: $3002nd place: $1503rd place: $50Qualificaton Tournaments There will be eight Qualifiers for this event, with four opportunities at a place in the 16-player final for four North American players and four Oceanic players. Qualifiers will be capped at 128 players and you will sign up via the events page. For the first qualifiers on Saturday the 20th of November you will be able to sign up in advance, but subsequent qualifiers will open several hours before the tournament starts to avoid no-shows taking up the limited places available. Oceania qualifiers will be held on the SEA server, North America qualifiers will be on the NA server. We will meet up in IRC @ #cgpanpacific on gamesurge.net. Qualifiers will be 128-player, Bo1 format until the Ro8 where it will go to Bo3. Maps will be pre-determined.

I'll get the SC2 identifier added to the US section if it's not there.
Did you change your Bnet ID recently? That might affect the URL thing.

To sign up to the first qualifier, once your profile is filled out go to the bracket (linked on the event page or above) and click 'CREATE TEAM' while you are logged in to the site.
The other qualifiers will not have so long to take signups so that people can't pre-book a place in all of them then no-show and take up spots from other player. How they will work is the morning before it starts signup will open so you will have to be quick!

Also, no Moonglade? Strong lineup for the Oceania invitees regardless, gogo Oceania Phwaiting mOOnGLaDe originally got an invite but the date clashed with his holiday to Japan so I gave the spot to the next candidate EdgE. I changed the date of the finals though and it turns out mOOnGLaDe could have made it, EdgE offered him the spot but gladey denied and said he'd try his luck in the qualifiers despite being rusty from his vacation!
Also I accept cash or cheque bribes.

Come on where are the North American signups!

I think you should get the title edited to include NA and SEA so the NA players actually bother to read the thread. There's just a huge cluster of tourney threads.

you better be.

This tournament needs a lot lot more exposure for how competitive and exciting this tournament can potentially be. I mean c'mon there are already 4 huge names from the NA scene as well as 4 of the best SEA players.
Come on NA players, sign-up!

Signed up, be nice to hand my scalp to a big name

Awesome, but anything but having qualifiers on a Saturday night I can imagine will severely reduce the number of players signing up...

What are these casters names? They are good. Especially the analytical guy with the higher pitched voice. Great commentary overall!
