So when a day have good games, it's the "best GSL day ever", when it has bad games, it's the "worst GSL ever". Actualy, this is a very good GSL imo, at least 4 of 6 days are very good each week. Code A is good, remember what was code A last season ? Every season is better than the previous imo, it's true that this season protosses have learned to play (remember how they were whinning here, in TL ? There was a mega whine thread in the general forum. Since this, there was nearly no change (just observer and phenix, that were "useless", I quote the thread) so it's a bit boring to see them dominate every single match with always the same builds. But appart that minor annoyance, very good GSL so far.
And I don't even talk about the production, that is better than ever too. Group selection show, real time bracket update...the only thing I think is less good than before is the interview. They look way more professionnal, but they are way less instructive and interresting. (with tasteless who translate 1/5th of what the guy says ><)

I'm not talking about the quality of the games, as this is the first GSL where I've watched only a few of games. It's the worst GSL ever because I really don't give a flying fuck about Lyn and San and players like them. They have no backstory, no history, nothing for a viewer to actually connect with them. This has been beaten to death, and incontrol on SotG often talks about that.
Tester for example has a history, he was here at the start of beta, viewers could grow fond of him and his play style and would like to see him winning. When you have some unknowns or players who month ago cannon blocked his own nexus winning...I really have no will to watch that.

Don't then and don't whine about it in the LR thread.
If you can't enjoy individual games because you don't feel connected to the player then it's pretty much your loss.

Your argument that Tester somehow has more of a backstory than SanZenith is laughable. If anything, SanZenith has an actual story of triumph of adversity starting with GSL1, and Tester just has fade away into obscurity starting with GSL1. At least one of the two is improving as a player....
Also, Lyn is a top 3-5 Warcraft 3 player, his backstory comes from that game and now that he is paying more attention to practice (in previous GSLs he stated that he didn't even prepare) he is reaping the rewards.
Arguably those 2 have two of the most interesting stories in Starcraft 2 so far.

Just had the pleasure of watching the San vs theWind series, it was pretty sick. Some of the micro in the last game was ridiculously good.
I don't agree with Artosis calling theWind not having anything to take out the Void Rays when he went Broodlords a tiny mistake, it might have been one decision in the midst of many, but it was an absolutely crucial error.
San using his DT's to take down that spinecrawler barrier so he could attack into the gold without any Colossus was so smart.
Loved theWind's play in general though, some really interesting ideas and executed almost everything brilliantly =)

lol only 68 pages in a code-s LR thread.
So sad that MVP is eliminated though, he is probably the only player who has that "it" factor for me .

Not that they don't deserve it...but...I dunno. The way this GSL has gone I just feel like the only reason they are there is because of the totally whacky Ro32.

Someday zerg might not feel so weak against the real races.
Or maybe top zergs really are just bad.

how can you say sanZenith has no backstory? Holy crap he gets soooo much shit from the commentators it is hilarious. To be honest I was laughing along with them. But here he comes, better than ever. You can say I am pleasantly surprised.

Maybe you should watch WWE or Days of Our Lives or something.

Seriously how am I supposed to relate to them without a youtube video of them answering questions like "who is your biggest rival" "what is your favorite soft drink" this shits a joke. GSL more like GS Smell

So you'd rather watch veteran (beta) players fail to adapt to new styles (and losing in early tournament stages) than previously unknown guys greatly improving and showing the highest quality of play of all GLS seasons so far? If that's your taste, go ahead, enjoy mediocre play and miss out on a lot of actually good games.
If you're just in it for the "history" or "back story" and not for the quality of the games, I'm sure there's a lot of content with mucher lower quality but more drama and chitchat available for you. No need to complain about the GSL then.

So what you want is the same 12 players in every GSL? and ROFL at lyn having no background...please do some research

He just isn't as good as the other Code S mainly thanks to his insanely predicable playstyle and unwillingness to react to his opponents. And Jinro is definitely a step above. IdrA is easily top 8 in Code S. I consider him better than Jinro, eventhough Jinro had better results. Which I think is due to bad maps. Even on good maps IdrA can't beat Jinro. If you mean Jinro vs IdrA series in GSL4. That was the time when terrans started exploiting 2rax aggression and zergs were still figuring out how to counter it. Other than that I don't remember any series when they played each other. I respect Jinro for his efforts and achievements. But IdrA is still better. If you read Jinro's interview after he lost to HongUn, he said that he would definitely lose if Protoss plays phoenix. IdrA would be prepared for that, he is kinda more professional than Jinro.
clash of the titans had good maps, and jinro still won : /

How the hell are the players who weren't dominant for the first 3 GSLs supposed to gain a background exactly if no one watches them because they're new lol. SC2 fans just don't make sense sometimes.

Damn the Zerg are getting stomped by the toss . Only the God of War left now.
4 Toss, 3 Terran and 1 Zerg for the Round of 8. A PvX final seems likely. Perhaps MC will make it to the finals again. I'm Rooting for Nada now that Jinro is out though!
