Don't let the haters get to you You do not have to worry about that. People like him make me believe that the haters are actually crazy. They succeed in doing nothing but convincing me that I should keep doing what I'm doing. They are a vocal minority that refuse to accept that not every tournament broadcast is aimed squarely at them. They do not have any comprehension of the business or broadcast side of things and it is best that their views are taken with a few pinches of salt since although they mean well, they have developed into elitist, toxic personalities.

If like Dan Shulman he develops a following without having played the game at a professional level he'll slowly be given more and better broadcasting roles. it's really all about viewer numbers. relax man its only 1 small season of a Pro League. Hence my original comment of "get better casters." IGN I'm sure wants to put their best foot forward, and not build up viewer numbers by finding out what works and what doesn't. There's going to be some degree of that going on, but knowing from the start what is bad and what is good without having to find it out by trial and error will definitely help the viewer numbers.

At this point I refuse to believe that people are actually this enraged about casters (all of them); your reputation unfortunately precedes you, I think. There are certain casters whom you can't mention by name if you want a good thread; changing that would probably require more than simply arguing with them.

If going into a frothing rage over the fact that not everyone share their point of view doesn't count as crazy, I'm not sure what does. Keep at it TB. Your work is appreciated.

You'll never tackle that attitude by staying silent. Haters will as they say, hate, nothing is going to change that. The people worth swaying are less rabid and often silent readers of the thread. "Ignore it and it will go away" only works on children and animals.

People that know the game fairly well compared to you tell you that you are bad and that makes you want to cast more? BTW, I got my BA in Electronic Media Management, with a focus in the area of radio production.

BTW, I got my BA in Electronic Media Management, with a focus in the area of radio production. Not sure why that has any relevance at all. Maybe move the conversation to something more private so this thread doesn't start derailing (if it hasn't already yet). Also, I really would like to see the videos, where art thou Alex?

Yes because they actually believe that the only important thing in commentary is knowing the game very well. At that point you can disregard what they have to say because it's wrong and you have the numbers to support that theory. People that know the game even better than you and actually play on a pro level, tell me that I'm good. People that work in the broadcast industry tell me that I'm good. Forgive me if a master's league protoss is not high up on the list of luminaries I take my feedback from. You've had your chance to be heard and your position is clear. Now all you're interested in doing is trolling, which was predicted very well by someone earlier in the thread. Nothing else of value will come out of this discussion. I said that in response to the remark "They do not have any comprehension of the business or broadcast side of things" Well you've proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that you don't through your words.

I really don't get the TotalBiscuit hate. He makes the game he is casting fun and entertaining. I think that's the #1 point to casting. To those of you who somehow can pinpoint some sort of analytical genius in the middle of a game beyond the simple "it looks like he's going for..." or "this positioning is looking really good for..." or something else, then I'm sorry to say that I just don't hear it. That said, I'm stoked for the IGN Pro League. Having a company as dominant in the gaming industry as IGN is will be huge. Though, I'm more looking forward to season 2 as I find the non full-invite tournies as more interesting. Still will definitely watch a number of games from the first season though.

If you're going to do casts, at least know what you're talking about. I'll step away from the "Make TB feel better about getting something for nothing thread," thanks. I bet when you checked my profile you hoped I was at least a 2-10 Masters player, right? EDIT: Fixed.

Man I wish I was a youtube celebrity, you don't have to actually try at anything but marketing yourself and propagating your own image, it's just/exactly like being a reality tv star! User was warned for this post

I also like it when people specialise in diluting any remotely relevant content to the point where it appeals to a large cross section of people who have a passing interest in something while completely castrating the experience of those who remotely care about the subject. I'm not trolling, i'm pointing out the absurdity of you calling everyone who brings up any negative point about your content a troll just because they don't align with your viewpoint. You do this in every single thread and never remotely accept any of the valid criticisms of anything you ever do. Please stop.

I'm sorry, but you don't get to go on a tirade and then claim you're providing valid criticism and not trolling. That's not how civilised discussion works. The reason your criticisms are not taken seriously is that you present them in the manner of a malicious little troll and there is no reason to respect anything you have to say. The amusing thing about your statement is that the guy you are supporting has just spent the past hour doing nothing but disregarding everything that doesn't align with his viewpoint, regardless of the fact that he holds a minority opinion. Hate to break it to you folks, but having an internet connection didn't suddenly make your opinion law. If you are incapable of providing constructive criticism like an adult without it smacking of jealousy and malice (and let's not pretend that your little tirade looked like anything but), then your feedback won't be taken into consideration.
