I dont think it was the video, but it was TT1 vs Fenix Game 1, it was my first time watching a VOD and something came up making me pause, it was open for a few hours under a tab. My browser is FireFox
Thanks for the info I've forwarded it to the tech guys!

I haven't been as impressed with a lot of SC2 related events outside of TSL and IGN. Both of these have hit home runs. Even moreso with IGN because I had nothing to go off of, I knew the TSL would rock.
well done IGN, I look forward to seeing you grow in esports as I was literally blown away from the first broadcast.

Really enjoy the quality of the games and the stream. Typically I have to go 240p for most streams, but for some reason I can do 1080 on the IPL.
Is it confirmed that Testbug is being used in the map pool? I just noticed an IPL game on Testbug's Sc2 International Database.

It technically isn't, but SPOILERS + Show Spoiler +Agh picked it as a map and then iNcontroL beat him on that map, and I didn't find out until later. I didn't think it was fair to iNcontroL to make him regame a game he won on a map he didn't pick. If Agh had won I would have forced a re-game since he picked a map outside the map pool.

What I don't understand is on the front page of IGN there is no promo for this huge league you guys have created...maybe a bit of self advertising and do a 'beginers guide to Starcraft' series for the people who don't know about it
|
kinda funny, Idra might face all the people in Root house, well i guess can't mention the names/ I don't get why spoilers aren't aloud, I know this is not a LR thread but shouldn't this thread discuss the overall results of the tournament? I mean if no one wants to get spoiled, they should never browse the thread and watch the tourney first which is in the OP. Anyone care to explain why is this? There's no thread to even discuss the overall results =/

Just keep in mind that we're a little baby startup, and while we are receiving love and support from IGN, there is a ton of content that IGN produces every single day and everyone believes their content should be front page material. The fact that we got a big banner on the front page every day last week and we have a link at the top right is huge. Keep in mind IGN gets something like 50 million unique views a month (don't quote me on that, that's pulled out of my recollections). Front page space is at a premium and just because we're part of IGN doesn't mean that we can just get front page space over everything else. I mean I would love it, but you might want to take a step back and look at everything IGN does and how valuable the front page space is.
We will be doing more beginners stuff to help people become introduced to SC2 and start understanding SC2 in the near future.

Okay cool, that decision makes sense to me. Thanks!

I'm also having problems with the VODs. It happens with all of them and in addition to the player getting stuck on buffering, it would also go back to the beginning at arbitrary points in the VOD, but the tracker would remain at its current location. Seems to me like a problem with the metadata. We've been having that problem with Axslav vs Incontrol game 3, are you saying it's happening to other games as well? Do you know which games you were experiencing that problem with? Thanks for the info!
The buffering problem was on several different games. Now that you mention it, the second probelm was only happening to me on Incontrol vs Axslav game 3, but upon encountering it I gave up trying to watch VODs for the day. I must have incorrectly assumed the problems were related, sorry.

I hope that IPL is a success. I really love what you've done, and I think any praise or concerns I might have have been already outlined in this thread. I'm not exactly sure what type of viewership numbers IGN was expecting to pull or if those numbers will be met, but I feel like conflicting schedules and oversaturation of SC2 content being produced currently could have had a negative impact.
This is the type of quality we should expect and hope for when it comes to Starcraft 2 progaming.

Have you guys thought about things to spread the word like a "wall of fame" for people who recruit other people to esports?
I never understood why esports providers never explored "recruit a friend" programs like the kind that worked so well for wow.

That's actually interesting, I don't know exactly how that would work, because it's not a paid service, but it's something I will absolutely think about for the future. Thanks for your feedback!

I would like this as well. 5 minutes until the stream starts and I have no idea who is even playing tonight.

When is the Idra/Kiwi game on?

Whaaat, I have to say.. the production level of this is just so great! It's by far the best second to GSL which is no small feat. And the stats that's shown after the games.. wow, that kind of thing is what makes this really worth watching! + the commentators are good too!
