Super pumped about this. I think I've read everything but have they mentioned anything about whether or not there are tickets, and prices if there are? I'll pay for it either way. I like this style of tournament better anyway, it feels way more intense than two smaller tournaments.

Somebody get Ret on the phone.

This is so cool! GomTV just showing up every other tournament out there with the variety of their tournaments. :D I cannot waittttttttttttt.

last time GSL and MLG conflicted, IdrA tried to get his play schedule for GSL changed ahead of time so he could do both, but they didn't do it.
MLG is pretty important for NA SC2, and EG. it would be a shame if he couldn't do both (assuming he wants to do both).

Don't forget that if he skips MLG Columbus, he will not be seeded in the following MLG Anaheim, and will be forced to play through the Open Bracket. I would consider Anaheim to have the highest competition level out of all the Opens due to its location and gamer density in the LA area. MLG is really rewarding for the top 16 who are consistent, but the drawback is that they must participate in basically every MLG event.

wow wow! This is tournament is gonna be super nice. Really looking forward to it!

this going to be just the top 64 ranked in korea or international too?
|
So idra just has to win 1 bo3 to get almost a thousand dollars? I hope he goes and I hope EG ponies up the money to buy him a ticket to go.
|
thats a whole lot of cash, and would love to see idra go back to the land of starcraft

Don't see any reason a player can't do both. Looks like GSL went out of their way to schedule a break during the MLG days. Very cool of them.

Especially now that he has overcome his weakness, ie ZvP, I think he can win this or show that foreigners are competing at a high level overseas cos lets face it the foreigners left in GSL are in a slump of late. It would also make a good storyline, The Return of the Gracken! I think it will be one of the main storylines in Korea if Idra were to go back and participate. Why, did Idra got kicked-out of Korea, why the combative attitude? GOM even has an apartment for foreigners so I don’t understand this anti-Idra/anti-foreigner that you’re trying to get at. If GOM can’t reschedule and give someone preferential treatment it’s understandable, as I don’t expect MLG or other major tourneys/leagues rescheduling for players and other tourneys/leagues because organizing these events is no joke.

Man, I would LOVE to see that, but I'm pretty sure BitByBit quit progaming.

might be cute to see makaprime again

I highly doubt Koreans would be at MLG. Unfortunately, the prize pool isn't worth it. The top Korean players who could take MLG (MC, MVP, MKP, etc) will be playing in the GSL. The teams wouldn't want to invest a plane ticket + other expenses for a $5000 (?) first place prize. It's much cheaper to fly to europe than the us.

That's what he wants us to think!
