Poland should add some strong contenders. I hope Italy sends someone as well.

Every country is responsible for their own players. No one else to blame but your own country's organisation.

Lol armenia has a representative, has kelevra ever done anything notable (btw im armenian, not trying to offend armenia, just surprised that it actually had a wcg qualifier lol)

why is korea not up there yet?
also will we know when korea will have their qualifiers? it will be epic to see boxer mma mvp in there haha (sort of a 3 way rivalry), and boxer somehow win like in BW
sad to see whitera didn't make it, it would have been cool to have him + strelok + sen in the first WCG for SC2 together, they were always top BW foreigners at the WCG back then xD

I believe the qualifications start broadcasting for Korea this Saturday on OGN. I'm not entirely sure where it will be streamed though. Pretty exciting event though.

The qualifiers to get into the final qualifier already happened and MMA/Boxer both got eliminated.
http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/World_Cyber_Games_2011/Qualifiers/Korea#Results are the groups for the upcoming final qualifier that will determine the 3 players Korea is sending.

Have you ever watched the Olympics? WCG follows that mentality, a world tournament. Their goal is not to have the best players compete, but rather to have as many countries represented as possible.
You want the best players? You have other tournaments for that.
1988 Winter Olympics Jamaican bobsled team. That's what WCG aims to achieve.
(Also, hypocrite much? If we went by skill, few to no Americans would be able to participate, given the skill discrepancy between them, the top Europeans, and the top Koreans.)

The WCG Australia finals will be held in just over two weeks.
The list of qualified participants are as follows:

Sad there is no canadian qualifier, so no HuK and none romaina qualifier so no NightEnd. I believe Netherlands & Belgium had a shared qualifier. So only 2 Belgs qualified, no Grubby or Ret

If I'm not mistaken, he went by the ID 3g.Viper in Warcraft 3, he won the national championship one year but couldn't go to the grand finals for one reason or another. I watched the replays of the finals and he was much, much better than the second place. He's masters on europe.

I believe Romania was intending to use the most recent PGL season as a qualifier, so it was DeathAngel that got screwed when they decided to only send for IeSF. You're correct in thinking Belgium, Luxembourg and Netherlands had a joint qualifier held in Belgium. ret did not attempt to qualify, Grubby did but was eliminated by AASpoon I believe.

I updated the results from this week. aTn.ClouD, x6.Maker, mouz.biGs and Empire.Beastyqt all qualified (though, I'm not 100% about Maker, if you're in the Mexican community, please double check for me).
Canada is now officially having qualifiers. It's a community effort so, if you're Canadian and want to see a Canadian at the grand finals, please sign up!

It's a real shame Sweden only send one player...

Dimaga got this tourny based on current invites... or at least i'd favorite him if he comes to win.

they send 2, just 2 separate qualifiers, I assume the next one is at DHW

I hope they document all the information properly for once V_V

I hope Idra and Huk participate, they've both qualified for usa finals but wcg usa is fail and isn't holding a national finals, I think they may be able to be sent and compete anyway though, would be a shame to have no USA representatives in this event.
|
Think HuK is going for the US now. Not sure, as the US WCG thing was a mess.
Looking at Canada, only recognizable name is Slush, so he'll probably win there.

If HuK and IdrA have qualified, I don't see them not representing USA. The Grand Finals is in december so both should be in Korea anyhow.
