A high class StarCraft 2 tournament will be held at Assembly Summer LAN in Helsinki, Finland at 4th-7th of August. Assembly Summer is the big brother of Assembly Winter, which some of you might remember because of its star packed StarCraft 2 tournament line up.
The tournament is non-BYOC. The prize pool is not yet confirmed, but it's guaranteed to be bigger than in Assembly Winter, which had a 5000 € (~7130 $) prize pool.
The casting is performed by TotalBiscuit and Apollo.
Assembly Winter was in Kaapelitehdas (Old Cable Factory). Assembly Summer has been held at Hartwall Arena for a few years now. There are a few pics of the place at the Assembly site.

ZvZ finals would be horrible. The most exciting matchups are PvT, PvZ, TvZ and TvT at the moment, most others are horrible to watch (and in case of ZvZ also horrible to play).
Assembly Summer will be held at Hartwall Arena, Helsinki. You can get to Hartwall easily with local trains (4 minutes from center of Helsinki) or by trams (around 15 mins from center). Hartwall Arena is actually hockey stadium with around 11 000 spectator seats.
Summer Assemby started originally as demo competitions which still play huge role in this event. When Winter Assembly is dedicated only for eSports. There will be 5 000 computer places old every year for Summer Assembly and margin for 3 000 - 4 000 spectators on top of that. When at the Winter Assembly there was only 1 000 computer places for LAN-festival and only around 100 seats for spectators.
But I can promise that weather will be really much warmer than at the Winter Assembly where there was - 30 C (-22 F). On Summer it will be around +25 to +30 C (77-86 F).
Welcome to Finland!
Last years Photo Gallery will you glimpse of what to expect.

ZvZ can be entertaining and not onesided or short. As a zerg player I find zvz thrilling but my main point was that zvz finals are very rare

Not sure how you come to this conclusion, he is an excellent caster and creates a great pace and hype around every matches he commentates on. Wish we had more like him, Apollo will bring the analytical side to the proceedings if thats what you crave.
Awesome. It was great tournament in the winter, and I don't see why it would be any worse since summerASM is the big thing, winterASM is just smaller event. Prizepool ofc deserves a boost if it becomes as skill intensive event as it did then.

You do realize that it's a matter of opinion? I love watching ZvZ and think TvT can be extremely boring. I just hope to see the Teamliquid guys do good. Sad that Tyler won't be attending this years.

I dont mind Biscuit. But Apollo can be very tough to listen too unless he stops being so ackward :/
I've worked with Apollo quite a lot recently and he's the kind of person, like Gretorp and myself, who needs to be in a role he's comfortable with in order to excel. In his case, he's got excellent player background knowledge, ie. he knows and speaks to many pros on a very regular basis, so he can provide insight into their mindsight and recent playstyles on a more personal level, which most casters cannot. Since he's also high masters Random and an experienced coach, he has excellent analytical skills across all races. When allowed to sit in an analyst/colour role, he excels.
Examples of recent TB/Apollo casts and the play-by-play/colour dynamic going on between us if you want to know what would expect (only better, since we'll have had months more to work on our co-casting)

There are only 6 matchups. Why wouldn't you just say ZvZ and PvP are horrible? lol
I do agree though. Watching a BO5 ZvZ finals would kill me. As a zerg I would enjoy it only for the educational opportunity. There is really nothing exciting about watching ZvZ because most of the games will end in less than 10 minutes.

Finally I will be able to meet TB face to face and give him the thongs my girlfriend begs me to send him every time she hears his voice from the other room!
People from the Starcraft scene should definitely hang out in Helsinki more often, well, at least in summer when the weather is nice...
Does anyone know whether TLO will come? It should be easy for him because he is in Sweden, but I heard his joints are giving him trouble lately...
Can't wait!! WinterASM was a blast, this should be even bigger and being able to check out the demos and stuff will be great when there isn't a game on screen (also living within walking distance is a plus).

As he is listed in the OP i would expect him to. And Assembly is almost 2 months away. Think TLO said in his interview with tlpro that he would wait ~1 month and see how things was going. So i guess if everything goes the right way, this could be one of his comeback lans?
It will be awesome to see our Finnish local heroes go up against international stars. Especially watching matches between players who have never played each other before.

Because your personal preferences don't dictate tournament staffing decisions I would imagine.
I don't even know why you bother to answer to these hate posts and don't reply to 3 or 4 guys that enjoyed the fact that you are the caster! just forget the haters man.. fuck them
This event is gonna be great.. i expect all of europe's finest players to fight for it! TB and apollo is a nice mix and will perform great!
