Finals at 9:00 EST Wednesday June 29th! See you there!
Its been 5 months of epic battles. 5 Tournaments on maps that no one had seen before, but still put Blizzard to shame. And now, in month #6, its time for the Grand Finals of Season 1.
TeamLiquid.net's best mapmakers worked day and night to create 25 amazing maps. Over the last 5 months, they've been whittled down to 5.
Three past winners are in the line-up: sixjax.dde, coLDdoRo, and FourKExO. The new team Reign is represented by RGNPheonix, previously known as pheonixwerra. And of course, the mapping community has sent one of its own in the person of Volta (aka WniO)!
There will be epic battles. There will be amazing holds. Watch as those champions of the US Starcraft 2 scene battle it out for a spot in the MotM history and the $150 first prize!
Map of the Month will be cast June 26th at 9:00 pm EST and June 27th at 7:30 pm EST.
For more information about MotM, see our organization thread!
+ Show Spoiler [Bracket] +
+ Show Spoiler [Maps] +dezi's The Crucible
NullCurrent's Marshlands
funcmode's Sanctuarium
Silence-'s The Eighteenth
Antares777's Hysteria
+ Show Spoiler [Casting] +We've put together a pretty friggin awesome casting team for this event!
Chill and MrBitter will be cocasting every match from the tournament! Its arguable whether Chill is better known for his casting in the TSL or his banhammer power on Liquid forums. MrBitter, of course, is the host of 12 Weeks with the Pros, and recently casted for the NASL, as well as being a member of team VT. Both Chill and MrBitter have great analytical casting styles mixed with fantastic wit.
Tune in June 26th and 27th (time TBD) for some amazing casts and games!
+ Show Spoiler [Prizes] +The Staff and Fans of Map of the Month have pitched in to fund the $200 prize pool! A first prize of $150 and a second prize of $50 will be awarded to the #1 and #2 finishers, respectively.
If you would like to donate to MotM, email igrok.motm@gmail.com for more information.

Holy crap this looks insane!!! Really looking forward to the seeing the great players, great maps, and great casters. I'll be there!
It is unexcusable for ANYONE on this forum to miss this. the keyword being epic. Epic prizes. Epic casting. Epic players. Epic battles. This is a must watch.
Oh, that is really nice.
Sorry if I tune in for the casters and the maps moreso than the players (<3 dde + Spanishiwa) though. :D
Will there be the usual poll amongst players for best map? The reward for the map winning this MotM grand finals should be being included in the Blizz ladder pool or at least some of the bigger tournaments. :p
Looks awesome Grok, can't wait =D
Not quite as good as the new blizzard ladder maps... Wait what, I meant roughly a million times better then the blizz maps. I still think Sanctuarium is one of the best, if not the best SC2 map made.
And you got Chill and MrBitter to cast!?This is going to be pretty epic, really looking forward to this!
Awesome Maps - check Great Casters - check Spanishiwa & dde - check
All set, lets go!

Don't forget Whiplash, DdoRo, and Zelniq! (and obviously everybody else, since all the players are outstanding).

Will there be a place with all the vods? Im away-.- Nice Maps casters and players Sooo excited
D: Amazing lineup!! I will try to have the wikis up and good to go before this weekend for the event, sorry its taking so long... I would donate to the pot too like before, but I'm not gonna be employed in a week :/
Yay Chill and Mr. Bitter! Among the players, I must root or WniO out of solidarity, the random games I played with friends on Pora were awesome :D
thanks for the shoutout (: lookin forward to those awesome casters ^
Awesome maps, awesome players, awesome casters.
This is gonna be great.
[support]
Hate to make this first page sound like a broken record, but...
Awesome maps, awesome players, and awesome casters.
Honestly this particular tourney deserves a lot of attention (and should be spotlighted in community news). And then that attention shall trickle down into future MotM tourneys! MORE ATTENTION TO THIS!!!
I would put [/support] here, but my support for this doesn't actually have an end.
I really loved the maps and it was fun to help out (as little as i actually did) =P

At the conclusion of the tournament, I'll form a petition calling for the winning map to be added to the Blizzard Ladder, as well as the NASL, IPL, and GSL map pools. Hopefully we can get enough people to sign it!

YES to more maps flowing through the map pool.

Missed this! Yes there will be VODs, I'll be sure to post a link as soon as the cast happens!
We'll also be providing Replay packs!
btw, really great mappool balance: 2 2player maps 1 3player map 1 4player map with rotational symmetry 1 4player map with mirror symmetry

Hmmm.... good point. Should be interesting to see, really looking forward to it. Do we know the exact times yet?

Map of the Month will be cast June 26th at 9:00 pm EST and June 27th at 7:30 pm EST
I've updated created the wiki for this contest already :D http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/MotM_6 Whoever in the org is talking to Chill and Mr. Bitter can now point them to the wiki for some organized info on what happened in the previous 5.
...speaking of which, I think we should volunteer one of the judges/board members on just before the finals, so they can talk about what MotM is about and get some more exposure about the melee mapmaking community itself, beyond just the tournament Right now all people think of is the GSL maps and iCCup maps, but we have some pretty cool maps that are highlighted every month that should join the discussion too!
Definitely an event one has to watch.
This is going to be awesome. Will definitely be watching tomorrow night.
Can't wait to see them cast. Also, nice job iGrok for organizing all this. I'm sure season 2 will be even harder (terms of being finalist for map making) and better. I'm tuning for sure, and certainly to see my map making partner (wnio) playing in the tourny.

Ditto!
Did you include what I donated iGrok? Was honestly expecting a little larger prize pool.
Otherwise I'm super excited for the tourney. You really went all out for this one with the players and the prize pool. Totally surprised me with the epic players coming out.
Oh and the wiki should be updated for reflect what the format is for this month. To me it looks like they'll be playing on those 2 maps you posted at the top LOL.
Bump for this, gonna be checkin' it out fo sho
Nullcurrents sexy banner makes this worth it imo. tourney starts soon!

Fixed, thanks for the catch :D It's just waiting to be reviewed by LP staff, once that's done it will be fixed. You can check it out by looking at the draft version first tho.
Can't wait to get this started tonight Hopefully there will be some neat tricks out there, and some fun player reactions too ^_^
So this is about to start yeah? It better be as good as I expect it to be iGrok cause I am staying up late for this!
So, is this gonna be on Bitter's stream or somewhere else?
This will be on bitter's Stream. Preshow on my stream!
i loveeeeee chills voice (:

Me too :D He has a "hey listen" voice, subconsciously unlike Navi >_>
Can't wait to get the show started! :D
Oh, and we're casting live now!
Want to see the Eighteenth in play!
Awesome tournament, really cool maps =)
Great games in progress!!! Dont miss it!
Over for now, more pwnage tomorrow 7:30pm EST! ^_^
The 18th was a great map imo. It seems obvious now, but beforehand I didn't think the casters would spend time talking about their thoughts regarding the map. The map discussion was good and they way they related it to the current ladder maps was an added bonus. Excited about tomorrow.
The 18th looks so good. And not just because I love golf
Glad you guys liked it so far! We'll be starting Day 2 very soon - hope to see you there!
Check out the round of 8, 4 and Grand finals right now, casted by MrBitter and Chill!
Hooray for guaranteed TvZ or TvP tonight :D
however.... imo nothing brings out positional gameplay like TvT, so I'm glad we get at least one series of it!
Damn, game 1 was sick. Can't wait to see more =D
This should have more viewers. Chill and MrBitter make for a good casting duo.
People love to complain about the existing maps, but then turn around and ignore the cool new maps the community is making.
Great games from dde and validity so far. Shame they skipped over the Spanishiwa games.

All that aside though, this tournament has already made it clear that The Eighteenth and Hysteria are top notch maps who would not feel out of place in any big tournament. Kudos to the mapmakers there.

Very good games in progress again! Anyone not watching is seriously missing out...
Also, MrBitter could seriously go into being a pro caster, he's well spoken and very pleasant to listen to.
Man, epic PvZ by DdoRo and Pheonix D: I don't wanna wait for another day just to watch the finals T_T
I agree with everyone on the casting points, I can only hope that they can really bring in some support for the petition :D
Hey guys, Finals will be wednesday not tuesday! Sorry for the inconvenience.
Nooo Oh well, so long as the finals are as awesome as advertised
btw will the aesthetics challenge winner be announced that day too?
Don't forget to tune in tonight at 9:00 EST! MrBitter and special guest Pokebunny will be casting the Map of the Month Grand Finals!
Man these maps are so good ;( It's saddening seeing such good maps

Poke casting with Bitterz - dde v phoenix- MotM 화이팅!
Phoenix is a beast!
MrBitter a super professional and pleasant caster (even when he was nerding out to those Banelings :lol ) and Pokebunny was surprisingly good as well!
Loved the emphasis on the maps in the discussions and commentating - this is what it's all about after all.
Dare I say it, this was the best MotM yet. :D Kudos to all involved.
I'd like to see an interview of the winner with some questions about the maps he played.
Any thoughts on my casting? I really had fun doing it, would like to try a bit more.
Any chance the replays get posted?
Wtf is up with hiding all info about stream / VoD...
