If he gets into MLG Championship play then yeah I will give him credit as a top end foreign player. I wanted to say that too and add NASL, then I noticed that to get into NASL you need to place high in an online tournament. :-/ Besides, big lans are rare, big online tournaments are much more often. So even though it's online, their mass makes a better judge of a player's capabilities.
NASL is a brilliant example of how little online tournaments matter. In the group stages Koreans did okay, they just about qualified in most cases and guys like MC dropped plenty of games. But when the LAN came around as usual foreigners got smashed with the only wins being Sen in his best match up ZvZ and Darkforce over Alive.
While guys like Ret who did so well in groups got demolished with ease by Koreans, Select got rolled by MC, Sheth lost to Squirtle and so on.
Same at MLG and Dreamhack, Koreans just easilly winning game after game after game but we regularly see that in online tournaments like TSL, the NVidia thing and ladder that with lag and Koreans perhaps not taking it that seriously that foreigners win. When it really matters though we have almost total Korean dominations with only the best of the best foreigners standing a chance.

I would recommend trying to get Slayers_Eve as an opponent, since that would both allow SlayerS to give her some playing exposure to the foreigner crowd, to show what her skill level is like (obviously after some more training) and probably draw a massive crowd. Good for SlayerS, good for Ipp.

I think rain will win only because destinys ZvT isnt the same as his ZvP. But we'll see. Hope Destiny pulls it off!

Big props go out to Spazzer, for running an excellent series with Destiny lasting 24 Matches! Totaling $1200 (to my knowledge each match was $50)
Thanks for the shout-out best of luck with the showmatch and you will be receiving an email from me shortly.

i always like reading these kinds of threads that involve pretty good players who aren't at the top of the world, because it reminds me how stupid people have gotten in this community and how incapable they are of understanding what is actually happening within a game of Starcraft. it's really pathetic and embarrassing honestly, how even a year into this game, the ability to evaluate anything from a player's strength, their style, etc. is nonexistent on so many people. if this wasn't a sport for nerds i'd throw around the word meathead a lot.
well anyways, ignoring all the tards, i love to see destiny play "real" games against good players because his style always takes the next step forward. will be tuning in!

Destiny has agree'd to play on the Korean server, so unless the Korean wants to play on NA the games will be played on KR. Rain, has moved to NA so this week will be played on NA.

Retards calling pro's bad is sooo fucking stupid

so I assume all games will be played on NA server then (obviously has no effect on Rain since he's in the states now, but for future "Korea" competitors, I just want to make sure I understand they're playing at a handicap.
edit: nevermind, saw ipp's update that destiny will play on korea as well. sounds fair to me as long as it bounces back and forth.

The trend is the other way round, any time something happens on Destiny's stream you can count on it popping up on places like reddit starcraft within moments.
People are still doubting Destiny because his build at the moment is basically an anti-timing which trumps the current metagame. Sometimes players come up with builds like this and they work for a while, accompanied by a surge in popularity for the inventor, but then everyone gets familiar with it and it dies off. At least half my games vs Zergs I'm playing someone copying his infestor build and his pool timing, which means it probably doesn't have long left.

'nuff said. The transitive property does not apply to sports or e-sports. Many different factors determine why a player loses to another. I don't see Destiny winning a bo5 against any competent player. His advantage is surprisingly people with his low econ, Infestor rush. Once people learn to turtle into a 3rd instead of doing the standard 2 base Terran push, they would have effectively countered Destiny's build. LOL, I think you are still in denial that Destiny beat 2-1 Bomber and also beat 2-0 Ace xD and ret beat mc etc etc in nasl then mc is at a lan and smashes face let destiny play someone who isnt on 400 ms ping then talk about his abiltiy to beat koreans He actually beat ZeNexPuzzle today 3-1 ( they played 3 times on NA and once on Korean server - Destiny won the Korean server game ). I am only bringing this up because you brought up ping.
He also beat SlayerS_Kkuma and SlayerS_Jjob last week on KR server...

destiny is my favourite zerg player to watch at the moment. His infestor play is just so awesome to see, esp. 4 infestor drops! Looking forward to this!

Why do people fucking hate Destiny so much? He doesn't even talk himself up, he just plays the fucking game and streams them.

He has literally zero results in pro gaming in actual LAN's. The current peak of his pro gaming career is qualifying for IPL 2 where he got knocked out of the first round.

I like Destiny, I watch his stream plenty. He's just not even a top NA Zerg nevermind a top NA player or top in general like some people think.

His fanboys. Everytime Destiny does something positive they hype it like it makes him the greatest player in the universe.

I have the feeling that Destiny is going to get stomped

Destiny has this weird proparadox thing going on, the better the opponent is the better he plays. His play is pretty volatile, a very wide range of skill level. I think in his tip top level of play he can take a bo5 out of any player in the world, but he can just as easily lose a bo5 to deezer and combatex. The reason I like Destiny is just how he started off as just a regular player who streamed, and ended up being a threat to pros. After all just look at the first few post of Destiny's fanclub, his fan club was banned for a bit, and now he's pretty respected from pros everywhere, including huk.

-There are lot of his fans (including me), which watch his stream (probably the most entertaing stream if you can stand his humour). And at least i think he is decent, mid-class player with interesting and fun to watch style of play and he is also funny, not racist and good person .
X
-Then there is a ton of people who don't like him just because he has a lot of fanboys. Those don't know much about him or don't care.
-And there are those who play probably P and T and hate playing against infestors and blame Destiny for making them popular.
