Hello guys. I know this game can sometimes be frustrating, but that is no excuse to insult, post image macros and so forth. Quit it please. Im warning/banning too many of you (in retrospect) T____T |

1) Wow @ MMA 2) Nestea still looks solid regardless. Even the man himself will drop vT's every now and then 3) MC D= I wish for once he cared about winning over caring about drama and picked a group that would help him =/
Anyway, sickest Ro16 imaginable to be honest. Polt v MMA and MVP v Nestea. One has been a final, the other could be a final (and has been a semi final).
MC's a champion, that's how I see it. He wants to challenge himself plus give the fans want they want to see. Even if he ends up losing, I can rationalize his actions by figuring that he's just really ambitious and awesome like that. Some people call it overconfidence and laugh at him, but I can respect his choices.

I was reading the comments and was rofling at the shit like "Artosis once again overhyping players, I'm coming back when MC is on". Some people are so absurd.

MMA's TvZ is terrifying. Hoping a Terran eliminates him before he hits Nestea.

MVP will eliminate NesTea in a few days.
MVP is better than MMA.

The round of 16 is in 2 weeks.
Also, while I do favor Mvp, I don't think it's at all a foregone conclusion that he'll win. It's only a best-of-3, Nestea's still *pretty* good, and who knows... Nestea might baneling bust him twice in a row.

Well so far the only contender that has been knocked out is MC, so did that much really change with these two groups of Code S? No it didn't. Nestea is still in the tournament. Losira is in it. Every protoss other than MC is in it still too, including the protoss that beat MC last season, Hong Un. The only thing that changed so far is that MC is eliminated. And looking at MC's recent GSL performances, is it really a surprise? Since his last GSL Championship win, he hasn't done shit in GSL. Regardless of why, he has been under performing in GSL. All this doom and gloom right now is just unjustified. We are one day into Code S and two days into Code A. Look at all the results. What has happened that is just so crazy? MC losing? He lost to MVP which is hardly an upset. And he lost to Noblesse which is pretty much the only upset that has happened so far. Looking at Nestea's ZvT compared to MMA's TvZ it shouldn't be that surprising as MMA's TvZ is insanely good. And next round when MVP beats Nestea its not an upset, MVP is far better at TvZ than Nestea is at ZvT. So outside of MC, which Zerg or Protoss has been knocked out of GSL, Code A or S that was unexpected? Did you see the Nestea vs MMA game, and not to mention that he is playing MVP next. Do you think HongUn is a contender? or Losira? They might be top players, but defeating the likes of MMA and MVP is on another level.
Well do you class Puzzle a "top contender"? Because he made MMA look nothing special last code A (http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2011_Global_StarCraft_II_League_July/Code_A).
Did anyone expect HongUn to top MC? Anyone who knows anything can see MC is on a different level to HongUn, yet it happens. If only the "top contenders" won everything, then the GSL would have stagnated into it's stable solid Code S. As it stands in recent GSL history, the "contenders" have lost some of the following:
- Nestea lost to TOP 2-1 in the Super Tournament - MVP lost to Ganzi 2-1 in the Super Tournament - MC lost to HongUn 3-1 in July - MVP lost to Zenio and Byun in the July group - MMA lost to Puzzle 2-0 in July Code A
I don't know who else you consider as "contenders", but they lose to "non-contenders" every day of the week.
And if you don't think Losira is a top contender you're crazy.

If Nestea's ZvT isn't good then no one has good ZvT.

Why don't you think Losira's a contender? I'd put his accomplishments next to MMA's any day. Losira - code A winner, Code S runner up, MLG runner up MMA - Super Tourney runner up, MLG winner, MLG runner up
MMA beat Losira head to head, but MMA is amazing at vZ and Losira is a work in progress when it comes to vT (he's much, much better vP and v not-Nestea-Z). But their accomplishments are pretty similar, especially since Losira actually got out of his up/down match unlike MMA.
Out of the players left to play, I really only put Bomber and Losira as contenders (maybe Byun too). The wildcards being July, Nada and Puzzle. Of course Code S being 50+% Terran means TvT specialists like Ryung and Top might get deep, but I figure with how T heavy Korea is, all the Code S Terrans are pretty good at TvT.
It's not too much of a surprise that the other groups don't have many people worth looking out for. There's 32 Code S players; if we're being generous ~8 of them have a chance to win it all. And MC decided to screw up the groups by putting 3 of them in the same group with MMA ending up with Nestea in group A (and I honestly thought MMA was a borderline contender since he got to the SuperTournament finals off of team kills, but then I saw MMA - Nestea =O).
I am quite excited for Code S though. Rematch of super tourney finals! Rematch of that super epic GSL January Ro4 between Nestea - MVP! With a better map pool I think Nestea has a good chance of beating MVP, but if MVP multitasks like MMA did it'll be tough.

What? MMA vs Nestea had nothing to do with MMA's multi-tasking. Nestea was keeping up just fine he had something there to deal with every drop. Roaches are just so fucking terrible vs marines with medivac support that it didn't matter. 7-8 roaches should be able to beat 8 marines + a medivac it's pretty ridiculous.

what the hell mc didn't advance but he had some serious talent in his group MVP Polt and the sorta rising star Noblesse. And I didn't even know MMA was in code s forgot that the mlg-gsl partnership gave koreans a spot

I'm not crazy, thank you, I just find that their vT cannot match up to MVP/MMA/Bomber ^^. Peace.
Anyway someone gonna create the Code A Thread? O.o

It's good but not amazing like his ZvP and ZvZ. It doesn't have the same feel of invincibility. Typically Nestea only loses in those matchups when his opponent does some really risky or wacky strategy. But he often loses against standard Terrans doing standard Terran pressures pushes.

MMA was kiting the roaches through the minerals whereever he could. Nestea just sent shit at every single drop. Obviously if roaches are getting stuck behind roaches, they get owned by marines.

No one has amazing ZvT though Nestea's is the closest. Everyone loses to standard terran play.

Despite what MMA's fanboys believe all he does is stim and a-move his drops. Every now and then he micros them but he isn't positioning them like you believe. It's still ridiculous how cost effective marines can be vs roaches.
MMA was absolutely not out multi-tasking Nestea.

I didn't see you out there in the GSL dropping 3-4 places at once on NesTea and macroing like a beast while all of this is happening. Even the observer had a really hard time following all his drops. There's only so much multitasking you can do and most people can only do 2 things at the same time. You can't expect him to control every single group at the same time. He did a nice job of positioning his drops near the mineral line. give the dude some credit.

If all MMA does is stim and a-move then we would see all terrans doing it. The fact remains is that MMA is only one of the few terrans capable of this multiple drop play.
