I didn't get invited because Blizzard doesn't say _when_ they're taking the list of who gets invited: I was recently constantly in the top 8, thinking they took the rankings around the tournament date. From what I've been told, they actually take their list WAY earlier than that; it's very frustrating, but it happens. I think they need to be clear on how they determine their invites, though... without stating how (or when) they take their list, they could put down 8 random names and be able to justify them as we aren't able to challenge them.

Hmm.. I was actually suprised when I was watching Benji and someone else cast some clan war with YoonYJ in it. I heard he was an impressive Terran, but after watching him play that TvT.. ugh. (I think it was against deth.. someone in TA) I've been a fan of moonglade for a while, Rossi seems pretty inconsistent too.. My pick is Moonglade 1, light or mafia 2.
Sad to see no pig or iaguz there, they're both strong players who I'd pick over Rossi and deth too.

It is silly to dismiss the others and think that GLaDe will take this. Just because 1 player got money to travel to Korea and lose a lot doesn't mean he's the only good player from the whole region. I would agree that he has one of the best chances, but it will be really tough for him. Last year's Blizzcon (when he was by far the most dominate player in SEA imo) he lost and got 4th? 3rd? idk.. but not 1st or 2nd. RedArchon got first. Now that GLaDe is not extremely dominate in SEA (he has TONS of competition now... not at all dominate like he was before) I don't really see his odds increasing?...
The problem I see though is that, even though all the players here are good, not all of them are the best players in SEA. Regardless, I would guess RA or GLaDe to take it this year, but every single one of those players is just about as good as both RA and GLaDe (not quite as good, but just about as good).

You'll find anywhere that Taiwan is not part of SEA. Neither Geographically, nor politically. There is actually a SOUTH EAST ASIA, politically defined and all. Those are the countries in SEA. Aus/NZ are not in SEA, but they merely play in the SEA server. Taiwan is not in SEA. Neither is Japan. They aren't even close ~_~ Actually, geographically Taiwan and even Hong Kong is in SEA. Politically it's not coz the definition of SEA is that of ASEAN nations.

The lack of knowledge people have of these SEA players is actually really frustrating...YYJ jazbas, and deth are all GMs on NA as well as SEA, and take on everyone's favourite pro's regularly
Rossi is high masters ranked player on Korea, and occasionally plays NA to take on GMs there, Moonglade needs no explanation, u all know him by now, and Redarchon took 1st place at the last one.
mostly all of them have liquipedia pages which have been linked in the thread, and i encourage people to check em out, u might be surprised how much potential these guys have
its a shame iaguz, edge and tgun are missing from this list, but these 8 are nothing to scoff at by any means, and i look forward to them bringing perspective to the sc2 community who are on the whole, quite oblivious to the SEA scene.
(just because they're not recognized internationally doesn't actually mean they're not strong players, it only means they're not expected to be, so prepare to be surprised)

Only RedArchon is actually form SEA. The rest are from Australia/New Zealand. Makes me sad.

This is a really strong 8 for those who don't follow the SEA scene. Tgun runs his mouth alot but hasn't won much of note online/offline and most recently lost 2-0 to Deth in the Melbourne WCG Qualifier, he's hardly a must for this list. Everyone has a good shot at Glade, I wouldn't be game to pick a winner unlike all the idiots in this thread that assume SEA only has one good player.

Iaguz wouldn't be out of place on this list but it's not like he's got winning records against many of them. Might just deserve a spot for the number of silvers he's racked up though, bloody consistent.
PiG isn't that close to a spot, he's well known but definitely outside the top 8.
Really excited for the event, will be there to watch the finals live on Sunday :D

He's back in form and playing alot for the first time in a while, but he has competition. He did drop 2 maps this tournament, and you haven't seem him vs everyone in SEA.

JazBas hit Glade in WB1 and managed to claw through the Lower Bracket for 2nd BL for RA sure, but Jaz fought back too!
