This thread is ridiculous. In the last month Stephano beats MKP and a few code B Koreans while losing to Alive and Boxer, yet he's as good as Nestea who went 5-7 against MVP. Right. It seems like people have forgotten about Sen and Dimaga when talking about best foreign zergs. Too bad they had that Blizzcon thing to attend and couldn't be here to give Stephano a proper challenge. Yea, I agree Idra,Thorzain,MC,Sjow,Marineking,MaNa,Grubby,Nerchio isnt a prober challenge o.0 Say what? How is that in any way comparable to Code S? Its not but there is stil 2 code S players there. Players who has won GSL and place 2nd many times + the best foreigners in the world. Not an easy tournament to win Except it's less relevant listing all the players than who he actually beat... He has no one worthy of mentioning in his group, then he beat Axslav, Cloud, MKP, Mana. So the only one worthy of mentioning is MKP, whom just barely got back into Code S last season, and then not make it out of ro32. Add on to the fact that it was only a Bo3, and ZvT is Stephano's best MU, it definitely didn't deserve all the overhyping he got.
You can only beat the players put in front of you. He beat all the players that beat the players. Thats how a tournament works

I would agree that Stephano isn't as good as Nestea now but he has great potential to be better then the top Koreans, that's for sure.
Taking his recent results (2 major wins in 2 weeks) + the pace that he is improving + enviroment that he practices in (not KR server) + actual time he puts into practice (supposed 4-5 hours a day ) , yeah... a clear potential for the best SC2 player
Imagine if he would practice for at least half a year in Korea like for 8 hours a day what he could do with that kind of talent...
MaNa is kind of in the same situation, although he's a lot more shaky...

I actually did attend the ESWC today and watched the 2nd MKP vs Stephano match and the Mana vs Stephano matches (sadly, due to confusing setup/etc I missed more) - but while I do think that the players may have noticed the casters and crowd cheer, they never gave an indication as to them actually acting up it - they were very focused on their games. Also I think that if they did hear it, Mana probably ignored it by then as there were constantly cheers for Stephano's play.
As for Stephano being amongst the best in the world, I think he may be - of course, he needs to actually keep on proving it now that he got some high profile wins and hopefully we can see him face off against some of the top Koreans and see how he fares then. He has a very greedy and aggressive playstyle which I think players like MVP, Nestea and the like would punish. But I do enjoy watching the Stephano games as he plays in a way that I find quite fun to watch.

And thus the reasonable claim to make about Stephano is that he's a code S calibur player, not that he's better than Nestea.
For the record I love MKP and think he's a great player, but I predicted Stephano beating him about 100 pages ago so don't think I'm unaware of Stephano's skill.

I'll feed the trolls.
I think Stephano has a better future ahead of him in SC2 than Nestea. Nestea might still be better than him currently, but I think Stephano's at least close to Nestea's level and has more upside.
Flame me all you want, but I'll remind you about it in a year :D

That might actually be the smartest move ever.... show up... win 60k in a month, then never play again!!!
The LEGEND would live forever!
All jokes aside, Stephano is great for SC2 because he still has the chance to do that. He can be the first foreigner to goto Korea and just kick butt right off the bat.... he's not been broken yet like the others... he still believes and doesn't fear anyone, whereas it seems all the other major foreign stars lose their swagger a bit after being beaten down by Koreans.
Probably Stephano will take a step back at some point... but he hasn't yet....

Don't be an ass, he was comparing the ESWC player list to the BLIZZCON player list. Not his list of opponents.
Beat MKP and a few Code B?
Ok here's the list.

Total : 29-13 , 27-13 if you remove HuK.
Against October Code S players, it is : 10-5 (8-5 without HuK) (and 4-1 against Code A)
I mean, how many koreans even post a 66% win record against Code S players ? MVP, NesTea, and that's all ?
Could you just stop being an ass ? Of course he isn't gonna get a 100% win ratio against koreans, nobody can, even NesTea or MVP. Not saying he's at their level obviously, but still, just look at the numbers and STOP BEING AN ASS.

I won't even take the time to refute such a childish post. Your hubris just makes you look stupid. hubris or not, it's true and you know it :p note that while I'm a fan of stephano I don't believe a second he's on par with Nestea and such lol. There are a few diehard fanboys and other ignorant posters that actually believe so but most posts I see are just trolls baiting people to respond to their ridiculous claims like "Stephano>Nestea" etc. As a consequence 30 people respond with equally ridiculous claims like "he was lucky, opponent didn't take it seriously and/or is bad" etc. that's why I'm respoding to this. Can we just stop this stupid fanboyism and retarded hate?
Maybe you should be the first to stop. If you really want to get into why your statement may be untrue explain why the only foreigner in Code S is a Canadian-American and Idra continues to place well, even above many other foreigners.
The place to stop being a stupid fanboy can be you, because the NA scene is perfectly strong.
