Does'nt Doa also said some Korean were Headhunting Stephano ?

Meh, select is korean, kiwikaki and huk are canadians ! Only IdrA and Incontrol are top US players *trollface*.
Seriously though, stop arguing, just wait and see. I could see in a few months an overtrained / coached by Nestea Destiny rape everyone with crazy tactics :D

Population size =/= amount of good players. The amount of good players produced relies on the cultural influence of gaming of the particular country. what's your point?? we can't compare compare EU and NA because EU is better?
No the point I'm trying to make in smaller countries with good, widely available internet and strong connected gaming communities tend to produce strong gaming scenes.
In big, diffuse population sized countries gaming scenes are less developed because of lack of good internet resources, discouragement of gaming as a career path and lack of connection to eachother (like LAN centers easily accessible to interested gamers, something we lack in the U.S and China for example since we are so spread out).

US 300M people : Idra, Sheth, (Select), qxc Canada : 38M people : Kiwi, HuK, Slush
See, Canada does fine :p
EU : 500M people, that's not even the double. Stephano, Thorzain, ret, Mana, Sase, DIMAGA, White-ra, Demuslim, naniwa, morrow, elfi, nerchio and the list goes on... You have to take it country by country, the point I've been trying to make the entire time. Saying "NA" or "EU" or "CN" is just stupid to me, but people will always use it. Europe isn't one gigantic country with people that are directed or encouraged to live a specific way like the U.S. is.

This thread is ridiculous. In the last month Stephano beats MKP and a few code B Koreans while losing to Alive and Boxer, yet he's as good as Nestea who went 5-7 against MVP. Right. Players who has won GSL and place 2nd many times + the best foreigners in the world. Not an easy tournament to win Except it's less relevant listing all the players than who he actually beat... He has no one worthy of mentioning in his group, then he beat Axslav, Cloud, MKP, Mana. So the only one worthy of mentioning is MKP, whom just barely got back into Code S last season, and then not make it out of ro32. Add on to the fact that it was only a Bo3, and ZvT is Stephano's best MU, it definitely didn't deserve all the overhyping he got. You can only beat the players put in front of you. He beat all the players that beat the players. Thats how a tournament works That is how tournaments work but that isn't how you compare how good a player is. By your logic, Polt beat MMA pretty one-sidedly several times, but MMA beat MVP, whom beat pretty much everyone else, including Nestea, who pretty much beat everyone as well. So therefore, Polt is the best player in the world?
Just because you beat player A in a Bo3, who also beat player B, that doesn't mean you yourself can beat player B. That is how Starcraft works.
Due to the volatility nature of the game, the weaker players can definitely get farther than they should, just due to how brackets and other things worked out. I mean, just look at Rain, Inca, Tops, etc getting to GSL Finals. Can you clearly say they better than everyone else aside from the champion of that season?

You mean by population right? But yeah roughly the same number of people as Poland (38 mill) and roughly the same number of top players

Some informations about Stephano from people who follow him since months/years :
1) He does not play only 3-4 hours per day, he train at least 7-8 hours per day but it's not always ladder. Ask his manager Llewellys or just check his account : M#Stephano or Stephano
2) Even if it's a young player, he has experiences from lan. Of course on sc2 where he made every lan in France the last year. But also on wc3 where he joins Millenium at the age of 15. We knew for a long time that he will be a great hope for us in sc2 because he had a great progression too in wc3. He manages to be on the top french players on wc3 in one year and was training with Grubby at the end.

Last I checked, Europe has 730 million people. Doesn't make much sense to say that Russia and Ukraine aren't part of "EU" when you factor players like Dimaga, White-Ra, and Strelok in the "EU" equation.

So yeah Fubi "oh he just beat MKP and ZvT is Stephano's best matchup, doesn't deserve"
May I remind you MKP is 35-16 (68% win) in Korea in TvZ and his best matchup, too ? :p (and he beat him two times this month)
OH shit it's Stephano's best matchup.... The only fact you are arguing that, and telling Stephano isn't an underdog against the human with the 2nd best ratio in Korea against Zerg says it all.
Just STOP all this, everyone, be it "best player in the world" lalala or "hype undeserved" blabla...
YES The hype IS deserved NO the overhyping is not (woohooo best player ever) realistic NO he is probably not the best zerg player in the world (arguably the best foreigner along with idra and sen), YES he had an awesome month and the best win ratio against koreans a foreigner ever got. YES he is favored to win versus a lot of koreans, even some code S ones, a feat only a few foreigners were ever attained. (Idra, Huk... that's all ?)
Can we just stop there ?

Ignoring your logic for a moment, even your numbers are wrong.
EU population is about 730 million.
NA is about 350 million.
EU is double the size of NA, population-wise, and has a larger eSports scene to boot.
I think the WC 3 eSports scene in EU has been a great help to its transition to SC 2. By contrast, NA's relatively weak WC 3 scene resulted in most of NA's top SC 2 pros being amateurs from BW, who lack the pro-gaming experience and background that EU WC 3 pros have.

Even if more and more Na people seems to recognize him. (oh and obviously Stephano is Better than nestea, he win more tournament in the last 3 month than him ... :D) Thanks for basically elaborating my point I was trying to make. I think much of the NA hate could be ascribed to the soured coL deal. why would the CoL issue matter when col (AND stephano) both lied to millennium >:> they said they were negotiating for weeks and later admitted they contacted stephano in the middle of the night without milleniums notice lol.. this stephano hate from is just an issue of butthurt americans that can't accept you're scene is bad compared to Europe and every skepticism you had towards stephano has been proving wrong and you can't swallow that.oh, he's french so more hate amirite, lol? I won't even take the time to refute such a childish post. Your hubris just makes you look stupid. hubris or not, it's true and you know it :p note that while I'm a fan of stephano I don't believe a second he's on par with Nestea and such lol. There are a few diehard fanboys and other ignorant posters that actually believe so but most posts I see are just trolls baiting people to respond to their ridiculous claims like "Stephano>Nestea" etc. As a consequence 30 people respond with equally ridiculous claims like "he was lucky, opponent didn't take it seriously and/or is bad" etc. that's why I'm respoding to this. Can we just stop this stupid fanboyism and retarded hate? Maybe you should be the first to stop. If you really want to get into why your statement may be untrue explain why the only foreigner in Code S is a Canadian-American and Idra continues to place well, even above many other foreigners. The place to stop being a stupid fanboy can be you, because the NA scene is perfectly strong. IdrA + HuK + Select + Kiwikaki and then who? Two countries vs an entire continent of players, who do you think is going to win numerically by amount good players. US 300M people : Idra, Sheth, (Select), qxc Canada : 38M people : Kiwi, HuK, Slush See, Canada does fine :p EU : 500M people, that's not even the double. Stephano, Thorzain, ret, Mana, Sase, DIMAGA, White-ra, Demuslim, naniwa, morrow, elfi, nerchio and the list goes on... I mean team Sweden only has like twice the amount of top players the US have with a OMG 9M inhabitants. (Morrow Jinro Thorzain Sase Naniwa Sjow) "Perfectly" strong is a bit much. They HAVE top players, and I mean TOP players, just... few. Gotta hand it to Canada though ! edit : oh, you switched your point, now it's not about the numerical population but the "culture" of gaming, and "tight knit" communities... See, it's gotten better now. But do you want to continue enforcing your first point "the NA scene is perfectly strong" or is it ok now ?
Korea: 48 M Nestea, MVP, MC, MMA, DRG, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc....
Population has really nothing to do with it or else China would rape face.

Two countries vs an entire continent of players, who do you think is going to win numerically by amount good players. EU population is about 500mill NA is what. 400 mill? I think it's comparable. By contrast, NA's relatively weak WC 3 scene resulted in most of NA's top SC 2 pros being amateurs from BW, who lack the pro-gaming experience and background that EU WC 3 pros have.
even then, that's not the point.
The argument was "NA scene is perfectly strong" which is not really true, and then "2 countries vs an entire continent" (when NA is considered a continent, too. If you wanna take the whole America, then take the whole Eurasia all the same)
Anyway this is pointless.
@ SoKHo : yeah I know this isn't a serious argument. Someone thought it was, though.

But following your point, we have to include South America now, since you play on one server too! So it's 350mill + 350mill = 700 mill people

His numbers aren't wrong, it's just a misunderstanding. Europe is 730 mil EU is 500 mil
