Ahhhh... I live very close to New Brunswick, I'll surely to attend. As to participating... hmm I don't know, I heard of this kid named Erik that's pretty good. They said he's some kind of 500 hand speed monster that no one has actually witness playing. I will only play in this if Erik is confirmed no show, otherwise it's just wasted efforts. There's probably no chance for anyone else to win if this Erik guy shows up. I don't know. I think I might have to reconsider even spectating. This Erik would just be smashing too much nerds it won't even be good for eSports. I guess I better stay away from New Brunswick campuses during this tournament dates. I better tell all my good friends at Rutgers to keep away from the red hot danger, I mean, if he's the only one that plays, he'd just win his own entrance fee, and I'm fine with that, as long as no one gets raped.

don't worry Yang I'll just be casting this weekend, so I'm sure your roach ling all ins will go undefeated
also wtf man if i were the only one playing, would I just be taking my own money? To the bank?

So im in silver, any chance that i might actually win game?
|
Is there anything in particular we need to bring (mouse, headphones, etc.)?
As a Scarlet Knight, I'll try my best to make it!
|
As an RU Alum I am very happy to see SC2 make it's way on campus and will absolutely be there (just don't penalize those of us who are driving from work into New Brunswick please!!).

So I really want to come up for this from UDel, but I have a couple questions. Regarding the available computers are they laptops? will you have actual desktop monitors to hook pu to them? I can't really justify lugging my desktop all the way up there but I would love to just come and hook up my mouse/keyboard. I'm just not sure if I could get used to playing on a laptop screen haha as picky as that sounds.
Thanks

so how is the format of this going to look?
how many signups are expected if this is going to run for 2 days :o

Sorry to hear that I would have posted this sooner but the date kept getting pushed around. As you might imagine, hosting an event of this caliber requires a ton of paperwork and planning with school officials. Next time I will be sure to make the announcement much sooner from the day of the event.

There will be players of all skill levels in attendance, and each person starts out in a round-robin group so you are guaranteed to play at least everyone in your group. And besides that, there will be free coaching and custom games (as well as shoutcasted games for spectators) happening all weekend

You don't have to bring anything (we have a few computers that can run SC2), but it is highly recommended that you bring your own equipment if you can.

We have a few desktops setups that can run SC2 (desktop, monitor, keyboard, mouse). You should also be able to plug your laptop into the monitors on those (not 100% sure, I have to double check), and of course you are welcome to bring your own keyboard/mouse to hook up.

Dunno how many people signed up so far (the comp sci department is in charge of the registration form) but I would estimate 60-100 players for day 1. Or there may be even more, because last year we had about 50 or 60 and didn't market it at all. Day 2 is going to be a championship single-elimination bracket (most likely RO32), where many of the games will be shoutcasted (and hopefully streamed) live from a nearby lecture hall. The prize pool depends on how many people show up, with 1st-8th place being awarded some sort of cash prize.

why you no put tourny on non-party days (((

There is no such thing as a "non-party day" at Rutgers.

Unsure I can make it at this point. Would it be possible for me to get a ride to Brunswick Train Station after the nights festivities?

Yeah I'm sure that can be arranged. Just remind me the day of the event, as I'll be heading back to the train station anyway at the end of the night so we'll either catch a ride with someone or take the bus.
|
so far how many people have registered?
|
Won't be able to make it anymore, work called me in. Gl to everyone attending.
|
|
Dont think i can make it within the time constraints
why friday night?!

Friday night/Saturday afternoon were selected because nobody has class, and were the best times for reserving this much space.
I don't have the exact numbers, but last I checked there were at least 40 pre-registration forms filled out. And I wouldn't be surprised to see a bunch of people signing up at the door, so that number could very well grow substantially.

Unfortunately won't be able to make this one with exams coming, but I wish you guys the best of luck, and good job spreading Starcraft 2 around campus! Maybe I will practice in time for the next one, but too many classes this semester
