This is the second showmatch of this type where in the first one GEGTChrobbus season 5 GM put up a valiant effort against none other than WhiteRa.
Tonight 19th February there will be a tournament to decide who gets the spot in the showmatch against Destiny. The tournament will be live on the forementioned channel.
The prize for winning the showmatch will be 100$ dished out my yours truly and the second place gets 50$
I am looking for professional casters who'd like to cast this with me, so if you're interested please contact me here on TL.
This looks like fun! Although I like Destiny, somehow I always have to root for the underdog, wich would be the icelandic player in this case obviously. So no matter who wins, I´ll be happy!

Do you really believe that icelandic player is underdog? Actualy destiny would be be the underdog, he is nothing but hype, altho he plays full time he havent won anythink since beta ant early days.

I'm no destiny fanboy/sheep whatsoever. Just because you don't like him doesn't mean he is bad etc. He may not have won anything big or isn't amongst the top tier of American players, but i haven't heard a thing about any icelandic player ever. Is it so bad to assume the icelandic player will be the underdog? I mean Destiny is on a pro team, but that doesn't mean anything i guess.
Does Destiny even play any ScII anymore? I usually just see him streaming LoL, so I'm not sure what his form looks like atm. Good luck to both players, should be a good series.

i watched a bronce guy win like 5 straight on Korean server. So on your logic this bronce guys is way better than destiny.
Yeah exactly that's definitely the non idiot way to interpret what I said. Congratulations on your command of the English language and legendary smarts.

Name any icelandic player who's more accomplished?

Thx Nice that there are still people out there who realise there mistakes and dont try to overcome them by blaming other people. TL need more guys like you.

And for what it's worth, no one has even heard of the other guy >.> So let's keep the insults to a minimum, okay?
And who is the other guy, actually? I clicked his b.net account link and he has no games played for this season o.O (Unless GEGTChrobbus is not the Icelander.) Can someone tell me a little about him? I'm interested in learning.
Looking forward to some good games
EDIT: Never mind, OP updated to Drezi. Who's he? Mid-masters on Europe. TLPD doesn't have him. Anybody know anything about him? Any achievements?

their, not there.
also, beating mid-high masters players on KR is not the same as beating them in Germany, nor is it the same as beating bronze players. just to clarify for you.

I don't normally write in the forums, just a passive reader. But i've seen this kinds of replies many times in different threads where players are "nothing but hype". And I'm not begging for it to stop because, really, I can't do anything about it.
But what happened to thinking rationally?
Destiny has been playing this game since the Beta, and also played SC1. Been in Korea practicing with some of the best players in the scene, and, just recently beat iNcontroL in a bo7 (source).
I'm not trying to bad-mouth drezi in any way, and he is most likely a very good player. But the probability that he would win against a signed player who does this for a living is... not so high. But I (and I believe most others do) hope for great and intense games.

People reference that win a lot but I don't think it means anything. The way Choya played was just bizarre. A random Protoss Master on NA would probably play better.

You should never reference any one game. Objectively speaking the simplest and most straight forward way to get a general idea of where a player is at is to look at their TLPD -> Destiny.
Tbh, Iceland has a population of ~320k. For comparison, the Netherlands has a population of ~17million and they have about 2 well known pro-gamers who could beat Destiny (Ret, Grubby, I probably forgot someone) The guy he's facing doesn't look too impressive. Of course no offense to Drezi.
Hey guys, i am going to be casting this event, i really hope you all tune in! It's going to be a blast I'm a newcomer but hopefully i can eventually become a really good addition to the casting scene in SC2, here is a demo if you are curious. I am an Australian caster if you're wondering about the accent.
this thread pretty much can be summed up with this: whole bunch of people mad that destiny can play other games (like LoL) and still get showmatches for money, while they are forced to sit here on tl and feel bad cause noone knows who they are, and also destiny is doing a show match vs drezi
so many people mad "destiny is no good! i mean... i cant beat him... and noone knows who i am.... but destiny is bad!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!1111!!! rageeeeeeeeee"
