The reason Teamliquid is strong in team leagues is because they are a real team with team spirit. They support each other and have good relationships with each other, and every member of the team was a carefully chosen pick to ensure that they would fit with the culture and spirit of the team. Even the Koreans they picked up had a long lasting friendship with the Liquid guys at the oGs-TL house. With Hero, they found a nice guy with potential, and groomed him into a champion.
EG is a team of mercenaries. They don't make champions, they buy them. Mercenaries go it alone, they aren't team players, they have no team spirit. That's why EG can't put up good team results even if they have strong individual showings.

Do you know anything about EG? lol
Yes they buy players, but their core players are all very close. Only main lineup player who maybe isn't so close is PuMa, but I would assume that would just be because of cultural and social differences.
About the CW, all I've got to say is "wow" lol. TL 5-0 EG o.o Nice job Sheth~!
EG is really playing like crap lately I think. Their main players can't win anything >.<!
