My reasoning behind that was that Ret played a few ace games last few times that didn't end too well for him. He plays best when there isn't too much pressure on the line, he's solid in all match-ups so he can get a few wins straight off the bat (so depending on EG's pick it could be a quick and easy 1-0 which is always good), and at worst he'll draw one of EG's top players off the bench for game 2 and still has a good chance of winning.
I think Liquid has enough depth to open with a strong player for a quick win or two. Two wins still count the same whether they're at the beginning or the end of the series.

EG should definitely all-kill easily here.

Demuslim vs haypro would be soooo interesting to watch, both are such an underdog
with zenio and hero, it will be quite hard for EG to win. let's see how many players can puma and idra take down, then leaving the rest to Huk and JYP

A team cannot all kill another team, only a player can all kill another team.

True, but he doesn't need to worry about ace match imo~that's what zenio/hero are for. I'm really leaning towards him being designed as a Terran killer-his macro style will work wonders against Demuslim and Puma, and since TL is so zerg heavy there's really not a lot of pressure on him specifically. I'd say Jinro is under the most pressure in AK formats since he's the only terran on the team-he's most likely going to be a vT sniper as well, in case of ret falling (or going before ret). Haypro and Sheth are (sorry guys) good generic zergs to open with as they are both talented and can take games off of top players, while not excelling in a specific matchup and definitely not being the best zergs on the lineup.
Ret, TLO, and Jinro all seem to be comfortable with vT, while Ret also seems to be fairly good vP and solid vZ. Ret, hero, and Zenio will probably cause the most trouble in this matchup because idra is uncomfortable with vP (as he has repeatedly said), Puma can't really match up against Ret and Zenio, and Hero has shown some pretty good vP.
I think EG's goal here needs to be getting hero out before Puma so that he can be taken in TvP, and then just hope that Puma or JYP can close out the series. If Idra and Demuslim perform well (and maybe Incontrol), EG has a serious shot at taking the match. I just don't see them getting past hero once Puma is out of the way-even if they do, Zenio is standing right there to avenge the protoss hero.
And of course, Liquid' always has the dark horses of TLO/Haypro/Nony~if they get sent out and are on top form, it would be a fantastic series for Liquid imo :D

I don't think HuK plays in clan wars. HuK pretty much refuses to play in latency, but with all of the players liquid has in korea we might see him in this one, at least as a sniper.

EG's also been sending out Demuslim first in NASTL and the past IPLs, I would honestly prefer it if Ret was the one who took him on, just because I think he's the most solid and consistent vT player on the team besides HerO, relatively speaking from the few games I've seen so far. I wouldn't mind him coming out and sniping PuMa though, who IMO will either be the ace or the HerO sniper. I'm always worried about Liquid's chances in a team league against a team like SlayerS though, since TL is so Zerg heavy. It's not going to be a problem this teamleague, but it could pose issues in the future.

The loser is eliminated, whereas the winner will face the winner of Vile vs TSL. On paper, EG has the better team but liquid are no pushovers.

SO excited to see these players. I haven't really been able to keep up with all of EG's and Liquid's activity recently. GOGOGO Liquid <33
Side note: Pllleeaassee remove Calm Before the Storm, Terminus SE, and Shattered Temple. The first two especially- they're widely regarded as pretty bad maps for balance and gameplay. Shattered Temple is also just really old and is becoming less and less popular. How about Cloud Kingdom

I'm doing my own sinister monkey clap right now.
