Imagine that you're watching the olympic games and Canada is knocked out early along with USA leaving only european teams left in the tournament. Sure, they might produce high quality hockey games that are enjoyable to some extent, but in this example I'm writing, you don't care for european teams, you can't get behind them, you can't relate to them or their culture. This is a pretty badly written example, but I hope you still get my point. The massive Korean dominance is really hurting SC2 as an e-sport. Naturally we can't blame South Koreans for being that much better than everyone else at this game, but it still ruins some of the fun for a good number of foreigner viewers. Well, watch tournament without Koreans if they are soulless gaming machines to you. I actually never understood how you can blindly (I don't want to use hate) but not appriciate they passion and skill. JYP, PuMa, MC, Polt, Violet and many more Koreans have great personality. Some might be shy but they are really funny. Met some of them (i.e Violet) at HomeStoryCup and had a fun time with him, really they are some great guys. I can fully understand people supporting their nation and being behind it, or in this case behind the foreign players, but that blind writing them off as not - enjoyable... seems wrong. Its your opinion, totally fine, but maybe you should think about it, because its offending to them and a lot of people that actually care about those players. I do support foreigners, hell yes, but I could never be happy about a victory of a foreign player in a tournament without a Korean, its a meaningless victory. The Koreans bring the highest level of play, that is competition and thats what fans want to see. I don't want to see USA vs Europe, I have that all day long in weekly cups and even there, I enjoy seeing Koreans participating and also LOSING! I don't enjoy it because they lose, I enjoy it because it shows competition. So.. for now, if a foreign player I like can manage to win (i.e Socke, SaSe, ret for example) hell FUCK YEAH, if MKP , DRG or Polt wins, HELL fucking deserved! MKP is unholy with his mechanics... and the Koreans are a blast to watch. ESPORTS FIGHTING! If one thing is not true, then its Koreans hurting eSports. | ||
