Gameplay
1. The exact MLG Map version must be used for all Games. 2. Players found to have chatted about companies, sponsors, or products during a Game will be given a Foul. Players found to have chatted excessively during a Game will be given a Foul. Language used in in-game chat will be governed by the Pro Circuit Conduct Rules. Players who receive 3 Fouls in an Open Online Qualifier and qualify for their Region’s Invite-Only Online Qualifier will lose their first opportunity to choose the next Game’s Map in that Invite-Only Online Qualifier. Any sign of cheating may result in a Forfeit of the Game and/or disqualification from the Online Qualifier. 4. The Map for Game 1 of all Best of 3 Games Matches will be chosen by a series of vetoes. Players must alternate vetoing one Map, starting with the lower seeded Player, until there is only one Map remaining (the Game 1 Map). Each Player’s first Map Veto will stand as a Map that can’t be chosen for Games 2 or 3. If a Match is expanded to a Best of 7, Map Vetoes are no longer taken into account. 5. The loser of a Game must select the Map for the next Game. When Best of 7 Games Matches are resumed, the loser of the previous Match must select the Map for the first Game. 6. No Map may be played more than once in the same Best of 3 Game Match or Best of 7 Game Match. 7. No Map will be considered as having been used in a Game that is Forfeited according to General Rules #2. 8. Both Players may switch their Race after each Game. 9. No warm-up or practice Games are permitted once the Match’s first Game has begun. 10. Players who are disqualified prior to the start of a Game will not be allowed to play in the Game. Players who are disqualified during a Game must quit out of the Game. Players who are disqualified won’t receive any benefits (seeding, prize, etc.) for their ranking in the Event. Such Players may also be subject to a Temporary Ban from MLG’s Network of Websites and/or a Ban from a future Pro Circuit Event(s). 11. The higher seeded Player must host all Games in a Match 12. Only Tournament Officials may connect to a Game as an observer. Inviting someone other than a Tournament Official to observe a Match will result in a Warning. Each subsequent Warning that a Player receives will result in a Forfeit of the Game. 13. If a Player loses their connection to the Host during the first minute of a Game, and then the in-game disconnect timer reaches 0, the Game must be replayed. If a Player loses their connection to the Host after the first minute of a Game, and then the in-game disconnect timer reaches 0, the disconnecting Player will Forfeit the Game. 14. Bracket Format [list][*]There will be 3 Open Online Qualifiers in the Spring Season (Europe, Korea/Taiwan, and North America). [*] Players finishing in the top 8 in each Spring Open Online Qualifier will be invited to participate in the same region’s Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier. [*] The Spring Open Online Qualifiers will each support as many as 128 Players. [*] The Spring Open Online Qualifier Brackets will be separated into a Winners Bracket and a Losers Bracket. Match Format
All Matches will be Best of 3 Games unless the Players have already played each other in the Spring Open Online Qualifier.
If Players are scheduled to play each other for a 2nd time in a Spring Open Online Qualifier, their Match will expand to a Best of 7, include the previous Match, and pick up where that Match left off. For example, if Player A beat Player B 2 Games to 0 in the Winners Bracket, the Best of 7 will resume with Game 3 and Player A leading 2 Games to 0.
Seeding
Players will be seeded based on the following criteria in this order: Winter Online Qualifier Standings and 2011 Starcraft 2 Pro Circuit Rank Points. If Winter Online Qualifier Consolation Matches were played, they may be used to break ties. Ties may also be broken using the next available criteria or randomly. Players who failed to finish in the top 32 of a Winter Online Qualifier, and have no 2011 Starcraft 2 Pro Circuit Rank Points, will be seeded randomly.
The Winter Online Qualifiers’ Final Standings separate Players as follows: 9th Place, 13th Place, 17th Place, and 25th Place.
The performance of Players finishing in the top 8 in each Spring Open Online Qualifier will be used to determine their seed in their region’s Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier. The performance of Players finishing 9th-32nd in each Spring Open Online Qualifier will be used to determine their seed in the Spring Championship Starcraft 2 Event.

Do you already have a replacement for Naniwa? He is going to Dreamhack.
The competitor lists, including any replacements, will not be made available until much closer to the event.
And why is that if i may ask?
Registration for the Championship event does not end until June 4th, so the player list cannot be released until after that date. However, the pools, including any replacements that are made in pools, are typically released a couple of weeks earlier than the rest of the competitor list.

Registration for the Championship event does not end until June 4th, so the player list cannot be released until after that date. However, the pools, including any replacements that are made in pools, are typically released a couple of weeks earlier than the rest of the competitor list.
I dont think he is talking about the Championship, but the First Arena.
Why would the Championship sign ups prevent us from knowing, who is going to play in the First Arena?

Do you already have a replacement for Naniwa? He is going to Dreamhack.

He is talking about the 8 man arena coming up in april. I assume it will just go down the columbus ranking order?

Thanks for posting that. I apologize for the confusion. I assumed you were referring to the Spring Championships.

hehe no np, like others already said i was wondering about Spring Arena 1 cause it's only like 2 weeks away and Xoronius's question was about Naniwa's replacement for Spring Arena 1 but thnx for clearing that up.
North American and European Open Online Qualifier passes are still being sold. They will only be available until April 9th at 12th respectively, so get them while you can. Top 8 in each OQ will get an invite to Invite Only OQ to play for a spot in the Arena 2 where you can win $$$.
When considering players for the qualifications, I think you really should leave yourself with the opportunity of inviting a couple of players. Such a pity if very talented players are unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts.
*Oh, and this map-pool is not good for ZvT (5 T-favored maps, 2 Z-favored maps).
I have added the hotel for the Spring Championships in Anaheim June 8th-10th. The hotel will be filled quickly, so I suggest to get your room as soon as possible.
Anaheim Marriott: 700 W Convention Way, Anaheim, CA 92802 Rates: $149 for Single/Double, $159 for triple, $169 for quad Reservation phone: 714-750-4321. Use code "MLG" when booking. Distance from Venue: across the street Reservation deadline: Friday, May 18
Will there be some sort of special seeding in the invite qualifiers, for the 8 people who come from the open qualifier? Or will the players just be thrown into a single pool? (divided by region, ofc) And can we get some insight on how it was decided that the top 80 (of a <300 man event) are already qualified for an invite?

Last year's MLG Anaheim overlapped with GSL finals. The schedules are so different due to time zones that there will be virtually zero overlap. 2 players unfortunately will be affected but the events will be fine.
Just wondering where/if brackets will be posted for the NA Open Qualifier, or where the results will be posted? Would be interesting to see it all unfold like Levelstory did with KR Open Qualifier.
Whats the website to check in for the qualifier tournament running tonight? and do you know who all signed up for todays qualifier? I cant seem to find it on the MLG site x.x
Do i get it right, that the only bonus that the top 32 Ladder player of NA and EU have, is that they save the 10 dollar participation fee for the open qualifier?
I still feel like Arena 1 seems very redundant. It simply isnt as interesting with 8 players when 7 of them are koreans. And we have seen these guys play each other not that long ago. It would be best if MLG tried to keep a half half ratio of foreigner/korean maybe its just me but i dont feel hyped for Arena 1 at all when i already know that either DRG or MKP VERY likely win it.

Even with half foreigners there, we would still see DRG or MKP probably win it and crush a few foreigners on the way instead of playing some close games vs other Koreans.

But then there is always hope of an upset. And there is too much korean vs korean going on with the GSL already. And im pretty sure most ppl enjoy watching foreigner vs korean matches the most. (Obviously with foreigners that actually do have a chance not total walkovers).

Yep, and now when DreamHack Stockholm is on the same weekend as spring arena 1, I don't think that there will be that many people who pay to watch the spring arena

Uh...what?
It implies that he is playing and doesn't want to be up all night. Those who had not qualified from the prior MLG/ladder ranking have to buy a $10 pass to play.
where are the MLG Winter Championship replays? you've release MLG Winter Arena replays already but not yet Winter Championship... when are u guys going to release them?
Trying to find some more info about this. Where the hell will brackets appear? How and where do you check-in?
All I can find is the generic news post on mlg website with dates. A week or so ago I accidentally stumbled upon a link listing the players who were signed up. Can't for the life of me find my way back to that link on MLG website.
Can you explain this process a bit more in depth MLG? Or send a mail with the info to players with passes. I literally have no clue where to go or what to click. Just banking on the fact that a mail will drop into my inbox or MLG will enlighten me in some other way before the 13th.
Site has been struggling to load for the last 2 hours, must be getting hammered.
Players can't even find their opponents 'cos 1) The char codes aren't displayed on the bracket 2) The site won't load 3) The main channel is full (of spammers)
Just an update for those who are wondering, this qualifier is absolutely TRAGIC.
A) checkin supposedly starts at 7:30, everyones checked in at 7:50 B) we're alerted that we should have brackets come up any time now C) no brackets come up D) bracks come up but they are defected E) resetting brackets - 30 minutes elapsed F) 8:30 brackets are fixed once more G)brackets are actually not fixed, site is constantly crashing and no one admin is responding
now 9:06 tournament was supposed to start at.. 8:00? Nothing has happened, no updates, some players tried to play their first match and have no place to report it, others cant access the site at all.
footnote: the chat is a giant flood of troll and everyone spamming at each other. If you watch Destiny's stream you'll get the jist
Destiny seems to have given up and just started laddering. There was a message that they postponed the start time until tomorrow in chat but not sure if a troll...
I am just finding out about some serious errors with SC2battles. This is not acceptable. Every single person that paid for the NA qualifier will receive free entry to the next online tournament, or receive a full refund.
Sincere apologies. The tournament will continue and will still yield proper qualification results, but this is not the user experience we pride ourselves on with our tournaments. Again, this is not okay and we will address the errors immediatley tomorrow.

So wait, is it postponed or isnt it? What in the world is going on at this point. I won my first round match and cant upload, should I waste the rest of my night waiting or just try again tomorrow?
I think MLG needs to look up the definition of the word "Shortly" they've been saying this tournament will start shortly for an hour and 40 minutes -.-

seeing as your admins all ran away, what's the deal, i'd like to know, cause quite frankly, I'd like to go buy some food, but i can't for fear of DQ, your post is not informative at all for those of us involved in this tournament, the money is great and all but i'm more worried about my time at the moment.
My advice would be to postpone and redo this thing at another time and refund anyone that can't play at that time
I find it earth shattering that Major League Fucking Gaming is this incompetent and would like immediate answers and not answers tomorrow, I'd like to know why the brackets were reseeded after they were created, I'd like to know why all the admins are not responding, I'd like to know why you use software that doesn't work, just use z33k or playhem, they have their shit together, I'd like to know why the seeding was changed after 8pm, I'd like to know why it took 30 minutes, and quite frankly this is pathetic and bush league. Online tournaments go off without a hitch daily
Looks like more than a few players already took off for the night because they thought it was postponed. It was impossible to tell what was actually going on, and separate trolling vs real information. Not sure if some people really got the bracket to load and actually played matches...
We apologize for the inconvience that many are experiencing with the NA Open Online Qualifier. We ran into a few unexpected errors when attempting to build the bracket that caused the tournament to start later than planned.
If you have an issue with your match, please contact the Admins on SC2, pHlawless.268, Sparticus.789. They are helping everybody as quickly as possible.
The Online Qualifier is still continuing on as planned.

Yeah, this is a great point. A blanket statement from an admin then you all disappear. Playhem and z33k can run daily tournaments for free, and you ask us for money, yet you can't run the tournament at all. And you have a complete lack of admins around. Sparticus is doing the best he can i'm sure, but the rest of you logged off/refused to log on in the first place.
This makes me appericate the people who get paid next to nothing, and work really hard to keep daily tournaments running. You guys are salaried, and you've shown you obviously don't care about the players in your qualifiers..

This is exactly what one of my players is seeing for who he is supposed to play. It seems that some people are getting things going fine and others are getting errors on the site with who they are supposed to play. MLG will be releasing an official statement soon. All players that have paid to play in the NA Open Online Qualifier will be receiving a full refund.
The rest of tonights matches will be postponed until tomorrow at 8 PM EST (WR1). At 9:30 PM ET tomorrow, WR2 and LR1 will be played. Again, if these matches have been played, the matches will continue to stand.
We are very sorry for all the inconveniences you have experienced tonight.
This is one of the most disorganized tournaments I've ever seen in my life. I'm actually surprised that MLG didn't use GB to set it up. Would have worked 100x better.

Agreed. One of my players received a free win in round 1 because it said he was supposed to play MLGDeimos, but in the bracket it said a different ID. Deimos says that it's because the person never joined the tournament, but bought a pass to play. The admins give him a free win after waiting 2+ hours. He's now in his round 2 series and the admins make an announcement that games played in round 1 will count, but free wins will not stand. So, I message an admin about his situation and I'm told no matter the outcome of his round 2 games he's playing, he might have to go back and play round 1 tomorrow.

Wanted to let everyone know that full refunds will be administered starting on Monday of next week. The event will still go on as outlined in the previous posts. Apologies again.

I see what you are talking about, Winners round one. That means they have not given us their Battle.net information yet. QxGDestiny needs to sign into the bracket so his character code will show up.
Sorry for a slight offtopic in this thread, but as other threads have been previously closed and reusing the old MLG Winter Championship thread seems inappropriate, as well as having MLG_Adam posting here: is there any news for the Winter Championship Replays? Couldnt find any news except "soon".

Right, the best thing is to come into the game chat that we have open for the tournament. All opponents/players should be in there. We can contact the player that you are to play that way.
How the hell does moonglade get made to wait two days, then he is walked over in favor of an opponent who never showed up at all, who himself gets walked over in the next round...

Seriously, this tournament is a complete farce.
Agreed, that is fucking disgraceful. He sat in the channel for all this time and none of the admins bothered to notice that.
Friends and fans of Moonglade demand answers for this. Admins are ignoring his manager on purpose and refuse to give an answer. Completely unacceptable.

This is ridiculous and needs to be rectified immediately
WTF how on earth was glade walked over?!?!?!?!?!? he has been waiting around for his opponent for a couple of days. I'm sorry mlg i'm a big fan of yours but this is a horrible decision that make no sense please fix this immediately
mOOnGLaDe "Got forfieted some how no idea really, never playing in one of these again" "i got walked over :/ after spending last 2 days waiting for $%^& to happen then i get booted!"
mOOnGLaDes manager "I'm talking to the admins now. He received a forfeit for not playing his match against an opponent who didn't even show up. The aforementioned opponent was forfeit in the very next round."
"Okay since I'm at work and the admins weren't replying to e-mails, private messages or tweets, I asked tgun to ask them (via Battle.net) to get in touch with me. Skype, MSN, e-mail, twitter, whatever.
"The response? pHlawless - I can not message him, there is nothing we can do." -------------------- So basically moonglade waits for opponent. Opponent doesn't show up - admin walks moonglade over. moonglades opponent goes to the next round and STILL hasn't shown up and then gets walked over. meanwhile moonglade has been online the whole time and is confused.
I feel for mOOnGLaDe as he has been waiting for days and gets a decision that goes against him after all that; MLG management team should respond to this and at least give a reason for it.
This is revolting. MLG's organisation has been terrible, treatment of players disgusting and the actions of their admins unforgivable. These are top tier players trying to qualify for a professional event, so start treating them with some respect and let people like mOOnGLaDe who waited TWO DAYS because of YOUR ADMINISTRATION PROBLEMS to play only to be walked over even though his opponent was the no-show.
SORT IT OUT MLG or you will lose the support of our tight-knit SEA community.
I find it disturbing that event administrators were so eager to walk over players who had been unfairly waiting for days - most of these games don't have the pressures of having to deliver a stream on time and there's no excuse but lazy administration for the unfair forfeiting of players.
I was torn between buying a spectator pass for winter arena or giving it a miss. I didn't buy one, but later regretted that decision, and I planned to purchase one for spring arena until this great injustice happened to mOOnGLaDe. If you don't support your players, I won't support you MLG.
I've changed my mind, I'm no longer going to support MLG. This lack of justice has filled my pure, loving, heart of gold with hatred. I'll never forgive MLG.

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Andy Pandy is a level above, and deserves a fair treatment.
To be honest, I'm still in shock and utter disbelief.

This exactly. But aside from that, all players deserve to be treated fairly. Glade is being disadvantaged because of the lack of organisation by these admins. We're not gonna let that pass.
Players also just cant be expected to be free to play 3 days in a row. Andy was on time 2 days in a row (for days the tournament was scheduled to be), waiting for hours on end. he didnt even play games in between in case his opponent was ready, so thats practicing time wasted too.. Iaguz also can back us up here, Andy wasnt even 90 minutes late. 20 min max.

I can confirm this as well. Just another thing to set poor Andy back, I think he deserves some kind of compensation.
What a joke, MLG. Typical disorganisation. I would have thought after over a year of tournaments you could at least learn how to plan something as simple as online qualifiers.
Not buying any of your passes this year unless this gets fixed, and fixed soon. SEA players have next to no opportunities as it is, you can't just go taking them from our best players for absolutely no reason.

Ok, but some of these posts are just a little too self-righteous and frankly hilarious to read.
He had no reason to ask where Sterling was - Sterling hadn't even been decided as GLaDe's next opponent at that point. Sterling's match against TargA was still yet to be played. Sterling and TargA were tied 1-1. The 3rd game was postponed to today. Sterling never showed up. TargA waited ages before receiving the walkover, and Sterling fell down to the lower bracket, where he immediately received a walkover against GLaDe.
Hendralisk went on to receive a walkover against Sterling, and tgun proceeded to receive a walkover against Hendralisk. But then it seems Hendralisk came online and they revoked the walkover. tgun eventually lost to Hendralisk 0-2, so it's too late for any action to be taken now. The bracket has advanced too far.
The sad thing is nothing will come of this because the bracket has already advanced too far and moonglade is not going to have his chance. MLG will just sweep it under the rug.

That's not going to help. They're not screwing over anyone on purpose. It's just a serious lack of any organisation in these quals from the time they started, with all the messing anround with the brackets, til now, when no one knows who they're supposed to be playing and when...

I appreciate all of the support guys, but going all pitchforks and loud noises on MLG isn't going to fix anything. If they responded to my e-mails, tweets and messages within an hour, we may have had a chance to correct the situation. But unfortunately the response was too late.

Sure, this whole thing sucks, but MLG have shown that they're always striving to improve and I can't imagine we'll see something like this happen again. I love MLG and I'll continue to support them. They do wonderful things for eSports, it's not fair to abandon them over a single mistake.

MLG: where a present SEA player has their manager ignored when his manager asks about a walkover to a player missing for several days, and an NA player gets a walkover rescinded against a SEA player when he shows up late.
It's a cryin' shame that all this happened, but will continue to watch and support MLG in the hope that they learn from this (quite frankly) horribly administrated qualifier.

Yes, I am positive that that problem here was NA supremacy and not just some misunderstanding by an admin.

To be fair this is a post designated to discuss the event and the signal to noise ratio is higher than elsewhere, so I understand that frustration gets vented here by people who may have lurked before or might not have been around TL in the past.
Does not excuse those who take it too far, but it is a reasonable place for it I guess. Or an understandable one anyway.
I'm still not convinced this kind of thing will not happen again. I want to see some kind of policy put into place, and an example made from the jokers who let this slip. Mr.mOOnGLaDe deserves much more, and I will not settle for this "We'll do better next time guys!" garbage. Actions speak louder than words, fix this already.

We're customers. eSports is about community, and organisations like MLG are very important for us, but they need to do right by the community for us to do right by them. It's a two-way street. If no one tells MLG that this sort of thing is unacceptable, or they tell them that no matter who poorly they treat people we'll still give them all our money, what incentive do they have to remedy it? I stand by my statement, at this stage I will not be purchasing a spring arena pass that I would have purchased had it not been for this incident. MLG's response will determine if this situation changes for me, either for the spring arena or future arenas.

In General I do agree with your sentiment, if it were any other sort of consumer market other than e-sports. MLG has put in MILLIONS of dollars for years now and provided everything (up till winter arena) for free, and now because of 1 slight fuck up in a qualifier so they can qualify for ANOTHER qualifier youre going to completely abandon ship and desregard them? (this isnt really directed at you but you came up with the arguement lol) I think people need to feel a little bit less entitled to get everything and understand what has been done for them up until now and keep that in mind before they go grabbin the pitch forks. Also, telling MLG they screwed up is perfectly fine, so long as its done in the right fashion. Saying "fuck you mlg ya dun goofed never getting your shit again!" is angry and not constructive at all. Accordingly to be fair I don't think any other organisation admits fault like MLG does so its fairly safe to put trust in them. just my $0.02 (yes I am major MLG fanboy)
It seems to me that the real problem was the match before the moonglade one which was allowed to be finished the next day, you really should not allow that to be done, "Oh I'm a too tired to play on, can have a night to sleep on what has happened." you are not going to see that in a GSL. The mistake we are complaining about is a direct result of this poor judgement.
I think MLG should add to the rules once a Match/Set is started it must be played to conclusion without more than a Toilet Break/Emergency Break unless non-player equipment fails.

That kinda reads like MLG is donating millions of dollars to the community out of the goodness of their hearts. I'm sure you can imagine the argument to that, but that's irrelevant to discussion. But anyway, it's not about disregarding the good MLG has done or villainising them completely either. MLG have a product they are selling (spring arena) and they cocked it up with poor admin decisions that totally put an individual out (he sat around for a whole two days before finally finding out he had been walked over on the 3rd). He now can't have his walkover reversed, yet the guy who benefitted from the cock-up gets the walkover decision disadvantageous to him overturned. The enjoyment I got watching any previous MLG championship doesn't make this any more OK. So as a result of the way they have handled production of this product, I won't be buying this product. If they want to sell me similar products in the future, it will require a change. That is not the same as me crying "BOYCOTT MLG!"
As for simply trash talking MLG.. I agree enough that I wouldn't personally do it as I don't feel it helps me convey the points I want to make, but for others it's perhaps a way for them to express themselves most appropriately. What MLG have done has made some people really mad. So while personally, I feel it's a poor tactic, I don't feel sorry for MLG having to weather the assault.
Yeah reasonable arguements. It definitely goes without saying its an investment and they obviously are trying to make money from it, but the initiative to believe in it and try to grow it they can make money from it is to be applauded I think. I dont really know what else to say except agree to disagree lol >.< Would also just like to point out how much of a baller dox is and how professional he is with everything that he handles in the international and sea e-sports, major props to that guy!!! <3
Sorry, I don't usually post about these kinds of things, but I have to say that this MLG run event was incredibly frustrating and one of the worst tournaments I have participated in this far. Horrid, horrid experience.
On Tuesday we were supposed to begin at 5 PM PST. Due to brackets that simply would not work at all, most people had to wait at least 1.5 hours before even starting their matches. Even then, the round two matches were postponed - so we spent about 2.5 hours just to play a single match.
The following day was also filled with delays, with people confused about what time matches were and the bracket STILL not working properly. We had to send in replays via email! Incredible waste of time.
If it was just for these things I would not be complaining. It is MLG's first qualifier like this and it is understandable that they are having problems, and I think it is awesome that they are doing this. But throughout the tournament the administration proved completely inept and worthless. To top things off, I ended up being forfeited today and my opponent given a walkover, in a COMPLETELY unfair scenario in which MLG_Deimos blatantly lied.
I came on to play my match at 5 PM PST, the default time. Again, the day was filled with delays, and my opponent was still playing the previous round's matches, and so I was told to wait. Since I had an ESEA match at the same time, I took the opportunity to get the ESEA match out of the way. It had already been about 30 minutes after I left the first game of the ESEA match, and Sparticus (one of the MLG admins) had messaged me "are you there?" I responded with "is my opponent ready?" to which he did not respond. This was at 16:55ish in my stream.
Unfortunately I made the decision to put myself on busy status in my next game. By the time I came out of the 20ish minute game, there were multiple messages about how I had been forfeited due to not being able to be contacted. I messaged Sparticus and was directed to talk to MLG_Deimos, who informed me that I had been unable to be contacted for 30 minutes and so I had been forfeited. I argued that I had not been gone for 30 minutes as I was pretty sure it had not been that long. Then he said I had been unable to be contacted for 45 minutes, and so I had been forfeited.
Now I'm not saying that I'm not at fault here either. I should not have put my status as busy, and I should have given Sparticus more time to respond (only gave him about 1 minute before my game began), and I should have asked my ESEA opponent if he could wait. But I cannot help but feel that I was treated completely unfairly, especially from MLG_Deimos who either was not properly informed or just blatantly lied. I had to wait at least 30 minutes for my opponent, and I was given less than 24 minutes (which MLG_Deimos claimed was 45 minutes - which wasn't even CLOSE to the actual time). I don't think it's fair that you wait for one player, and yet don't wait for the other. And I especially don't think it's fair that you disqualify the player who DID have all his matches done on time and WAS online and ready to play at the specified time.
Now I know that these tournaments have tight schedules to run, but inconsistent administration like this made this tournament an even more horrendous experience than it already was. If MLG is looking to provide "the user experience that we pride ourselves on with our tournaments," then they have GOT to do a better job than this. In total I spent perhaps 6-7 hours for this tournament to play just THREE matches, and then only to get disqualified. That's not the kind of user experience I would pride myself on.
as someone who participated in this clusterfuck, i have to generally agree with the sentiments, i've seen admins saying if you don't message me in 1 minute you get walked over, despite this player being in the channel and not even away, is it really that hard to spend the time and send a pm, that's your only job as an admin, make sure the players know what's happening, and no one ever did

Getting ready to book my trip to Anaheim and I'll be staying at the Mariott across the street. In the OP it says that there is a shuttle to the venue from LAX, but when I book the flight + shuttle it lists the zones it travels to as
Zone 1: Downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and the Los Angeles Area To Zone 2: San Pedro Harbor To Zone 3: Newport Beach To Zone 4: Universal Studio City and North Hollywood To Zone 5: Huntington Beach and Costa Mesa To Zone 6: Laguna Beach, San Clemente and Calabasas
With no mention of Anaheim. I'm not familiar with the area at all, so I might just be missing something. Can anyone explain what Shuttle I'm looking for?
Edit: There is another shuttle - the Disneyland Resort Express which is a transfer to Disneyland Hotels and Anaheim Resorts from LAX. I'm assuming that means the Anaheim Marriott is included, but I want to make sure. Hopefully someone can give me a response, but I'm going to call in the morning to be on the safe side.
Edit 2: Alright, it is the Disneyland bus I should have been looking for. Anaheim here I come...(in 2 months).

I took the Supershuttle from LAX to Anaheim last year. You can't beat it for just $16.00.
From supershuttle.com, enter your information on the left hand side under "Airport Service" of the homepage (Airport, type of destination (hotel), etc.)
On the next screen, you'll search for the hotel you want to be dropped off at. Type "Marriott - Anaheim", which will find the correct Hotel. Then you can proceed from there.
I paid $30 for gold, but it's listed here for $15 ? or did I pay for the Spring Season pass? or did I pay $30 for Gold just to watch the Spring Championships?

Competitor Passes for all Spring Championship games go on sale for Gold Members on Monday, April 30 at 7pm ET. They will become available for everyone to purchase on Tuesday, May 1 at 7pm ET.
Price: StarCraft II: $70 ($60 for Gold Members)
A few things to note:
Players may participate in both the MLG Spring Championship StarCraft II Event and the Blizzard World Championship Series USA Nationals StarCraft II Event. However, please keep in mind that the StarCraft II competitor pass is for the MLG Spring Championship only. To find out more about how players are selected for the StarCraft II World Championship Series USA Nationals, please go to battle.net.
Please keep in mind that StarCraft II competitor passes tend to sell out very quickly, and there are only a limited number of League of Legends passes available. So mark your calendars, and be ready to buy as soon as passes go on sale!
We are currently finalizing the details of the StarCraft II event. Passes for SCII will go on sale for Gold Members on Thursday, May 3 at 7pm ET, and on Friday, May 4 at 7pm for everyone.
It's a bit disappointing that there was no follow up to all the incidents that occured. Even an acknowledgement of the issues would have been sufficient - but sweeping it under the rug leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Crossing my fingers that next time things improve!
spring championship gold members competitor pass already sold out within 3 minutes. i know. i was mid purchase at 4:02 and at 4:03, it kicked me out saying they were sold out. -_-'
Competitor passes for the StarCraft II Event at the Spring Championship have sold out incredibly quickly. A small amount of passes may become available at a later date; we will let you know if and when this occurs.
In the meantime, please be aware that we have reserved Competitor Passes for the MLG Spring Championship Event for all players who qualify for the Blizzard World Championship Series: US Nationals, which will be taking place in Anaheim right alongside the MLG Spring Championship. Therefore, earning a spot in the Blizzard US Nationals will also allow you to purchase one of the reserved Competitor Passes for the MLG Event. There are several ways to qualify for the US Nationals; please see battle.net for details.

Are you asking about seeding? I cannot see why they would play all the games in the EU Qualifiers unless this had a correlation for seeding at the MLG Spring Arena 2.

Yes, the placing the players received in the Invite Only Qualifier affects their seed at Arena 2.
Spring Arena #2 Players who qualified via a Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier or Dreamhack Stockholm, and some Replacement Players, will be seeded based on the following criteria in this order: Invite-Only Online Qualifier Standings, Winter Championship Standings, and 2011 Pro Circuit Rank Points (See Replacement Players #4). Winter Championship and Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier Consolation Match results may be used to break ties. Ties may also be broken by the next available criterion or randomly. If the Dreamhack Stockholm winner was qualified for a Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier, they will be seeded alongside Players who win their Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier. If the Dreamhack Stockholm winner wasn’t qualified for a Spring Invite-Only Online Qualifier, they will be seeded last.
All Winners Round 1 Matchups will be set by the Players seeded #1-15. Starting with the #1 Seed, Players must choose their Winners Round 1 opponent from the Players seeded #17-32. In Winners Round 1, the #16 Seed will play the Player not chosen.

Yes yes, I know the players, but when do we learn the bracket? You guys had a show last time to announce it, is that happening again.
Also, last time Artist lost a team, he didn't go to the Arena. Is he actually going this time?
Why were there more matches after the top 8, all the way to the finals? I don't get it. Is it just for seeding? What does the winner of the finals get compared to just being top 8?

The bracket will not be released until the WR1 choices are made. So they will be posted as soon as possible, but I don't have an ETA to give you.

Funny how Idra is the only foreigner to get a foreigner in the first round :p
Well, Socke got one as well. And given Idra´s ZvP, Socke has a good chance to win. Very unfortunate bracket for GoOdy, playing Ganzi first and than one of MC/MMA is quite hard.

Well, Grubby actually has really good PvP, although it's most likely not as good as Oz's, they might still show us some good games and no walkovers.
I think PvP is the match-up that most closely resembled wc3. (I don't really have any basis for this but... eh) I think Grubby will show good games because he's a smart player, like Oz.
You get access to the HD/ad-free streams for the Pro Circuit Championship events. Additionally, you get a 50% discount on the SC2 Spring Season Pass, so you can purchase it for $15.00 ($30.00 regularly.)
MLG Anaheim 2011 was an insane, unbelievable weekend: the event of a lifetime. If you were there, you know what it was like–and even if you weren't there, you've probably heard about it.
Having said that, we're pretty comfortable telling you that this year is going to blow last year right out of the water. Massive Pro Circuit Championshiphttp://www.majorleaguegaming.com/competitions/36 competitions in StarCraft II, League of Legends, Mortal Kombat, Soul Calibur V, and King of Fighters XIII. The Blizzard World Championship Series US Nationals. Eight KeSPA pros playing in an exhibition match. A huge amount of floor stations offering you the chance to play the Heart of the Swarm beta. And that's not even counting the dozens of special giveaways, contests and special activities that will be going on. Where else on earth can you go to Disneyland in the morning and then watch KeSPA pros playing live in the evening? When will there ever be another weekend like this? The people who come to Anaheim will be talking about it for years to come. One of those people should be you.
If you're coming out to Anaheim, make it a true vacation. The Spring Championship will be running from 5:30pm-midnight on Friday, June 8, 10am-midnight on Saturday, June 9, and 10am-8pm on Sunday, June 10 (all times PT) but why not come a few days early, or stay a few days late?
Disneyland is of course the first thing that comes to mind–the venue, and MLG's hotels, is just a short drive away, and there's no better way to spend those extra days in Anaheim. Check out the Major League Gaming Disneyland Ticket Store: tickets are valid from Wednesday, June 06, 2012 to Tuesday, June 19, 2012.
You can plan an absolutely incredible vacation around the Spring Championship, and make it the trip of a lifetime. Just be sure you're in the venue when doors open at 1:30pm PT on Friday, June 8, so you don't miss any of the Pro Circuit Championship weekend.
Get a Spring Championship Venue Spectator Pass now, and book your hotel room before they all sell out! And if it turns out you just can't make it to Anaheim in person, do the next best thing and get yourself a Spring Championship HD Pass to watch all the streams in full HD–with action like this and players like these, you're going to want to see every single pixel.
