vote no for obs being allowed. just dont want to even invite potential issues there glhf everyone i agree, but with no rule, it's anything goes. Ruling will be made before the league starts. Expect it to be that no observers will be allowed, with the exception of the captain. will there be a ruling on how your system of choosing who plays is flawed and will result in many matches not getting played out? If that is the case, we can easily change it to a lineup format. Now please post with more hostility next time. not trying to be hostile, but since you asked, can you make your rules with more common sense next time?
You don't need to get worked up over this, the only reason we're doing this league is for you guys. If something won't work with the players, why should we continue to do it? Don't worry, everything is gonna be settled to suit the players' needs, we're still trying to make all this stuff in the best way we can.

There's no need to be nasty, the admins here have put a lot of work into this for all the players that get to enjoy this league. I feel like being more flexible would be a wiser decision, especially for the first season to give the greatest chance of success but we can see how it works out like this. It can always be changed if its clear that people are not able to finish their matches.

Alright we had a simple meeting about this matter. We think we got to a compromise between the two formats in the following way:
We start this first week on Monday with the matches played in the aforementioned "winner picks first" match format as explained here and here. We're gonna monitor the process closely both by feedback in here and on Battle.net to see how it goes. By Wednesday we'll hopefully have talked with all team captains about how the process of playing in this format is unfolding. Based on the feedback from the captains about the format, we'll either 1) maintain the same format because everything went ok, or 2) change to the lineup format, because it was proven difficult for the teams to organize themselves to play the matches in order.
If by Wednesday night the option taken is option 2, starting Thursday the matches are to be played in the lineup format until Sunday. The sets that have been played before Thursday are still valid for the teams' matches. For example, if Set 1 has been played before Thursday (the day the format would change to lineup format), the teams would trade their lineups for Sets 2, 3, 4 and Ace, and in the end they would integrate the result and replay of Set 1 in the rest of the Sets.
What do you guys think?

Also, we've decided that no observers are allowed in the games at all. We want to reduce any possible risks of cheating.

I have a suggestion, but it may be a dumb one. It might makes things easier if every player submitted their TL name as well as their Bnet name. That way if we were unable to contact through Bnet, we could PM them on here.

So even if we would do that, you guys wouldn't get everyone's TL from this way either.

Question about streaming. Are players allowed to stream? Obviously they're taking the risk of stream cheaters.

Um, replays? All it takes is one player uploading replays and everyone knows how everyone else plays.
I won't be watching any, but I'm weird about the whole sportsmanship thing.

No Streaming, just to avoid complications on the streamers end. (Just my opinion though, not representative of us 5)

For the record replays will be available each week.

Just want to say you guys are crazy paranoid about cheating, x_x moreso than professional leagues. What's the point of a for-fun league if you can't even watch and cheer on teammates? Why would people want to cheat in a league like this?

It's more that the suggestion was given to us, so we're following in suit what we've received in feedback. Most of us were actually pretty lax with most of the rules in the beginning.
EDIT: Hope things are going well with you and It's Gosu

This. I highly doubt any one is going to cheat.

About observers, we went along with what the players from the league think about the matter, which is not allow observers in the games. About streaming, we don't have an official position yet, and in fact we're still making arrangements to have the playoffs streamed and casted, but it's nothing set in stone yet.

ATTENTION TO ALL TEAMS:
Rule 10 has been changed to the following:
"Observers are allowed in a game, unless anyone involved in the game has an objection to it. If anyone has an objection to having observers in their game, that objection outweighs any desire of having observers in the game. As a followup, any player is free to stream their own games, provided they understand that they're putting their games at risk of cheating."
