Not even "sorry, it'll take us a couple of months to get it sorted out". Just silence. "It's really hard to set it up for a new competition" is also no excuse, neither is "they don't have the facilities", because they did have a fully working english broadcast for their first league of legends tourney, on the first day. Funny that, huh? They also had an english website up for it before the competition even started. Also they usually stream some of the games from the broodwar OSL prelims. So the fact they aren't for this, regardless of it being a new game or not, is a surprise and a step backwards. It's hard to not get the impression that they really haven't learnt, and really don't give a single shit. Seriously why not moletrap, isnt he working for OGN? I know hes not the #1 sc2 caster but he still does a pretty damn good and professional job, and I bet he would even do it for free if they asked him.. I never thought I would see the day. The day somebody begs for moletrap to cast SC2. Now I've seen everything.

Insane amount of games and no information about any kind of stream being online for this = "I expected streams, OGN fucked up". Well, OGN usually streams at least some games from prelims, hence the expectations that there'd be some sort of stream. Also, there's a lot of hype because it's OSL, and it's their "first appearance" in the SC2 scene/big debut...so it's a really lackluster debut when you start off with an opaque qualifier where nobody has an idea what's going on and can't watch the goings down. Also, have you seen the player pool? This thing is HUGE. It is pretty much every code A/code S player + foreigner player in Korea. Anywhere else you'd have an outrage with that level of competition and no coverage. They always stream their own players' qualifiers. These groups are bigger by a couple hundred players and also full of random signups. The prestige simply isn't there in a huge set of offline qualifiers.
Moreover, because the groups are so much bigger, the Sindorim venue really isn't set up for broadcasting. It's across the river and I don't even know if GOM has streamed from there. OGN fits all their usual prelims/etc. (i.e. the BW OSL prelims) at Yongsan, which is where their fucking studio is. There are streams of BW prelims because those are professionally licensed players and those prelims take place in a stadium that's logistically capable of supporting a TV broadcast. Fuck, people.
Some of you need to stop saying they don't give a shit. Prelims are a huge and messy operation. Some of my fondest memories are just waiting for updates to see if players I follow got through whatever tournament. It's not your place to be insulted that they don't have a stream.
OGN's casters might not even have time to fit this into their rotation, and they definitely can't fit it on TV with PL happening later. This isn't a time to get upset. If you've got a horse in this, it's time to see how he does.
Edit: Really, this is NOWHERE CLOSE to the OSL proper, which is traditionally thought of as when there are around 16 players left in the tournament, after real matchups have been broadcast for like a month. Not just a batch of hundreds of random players mixed together while they sift out the finest talent.

This is kind of like the F5 Threads for the Code A Qualifiers, except no one is covering it so there's no point in F5ing

I'll be honest and just say I can't find the source atm. It was talked about in the early announcements, a few of weeks before SPL started. If someone can find it, that'd be awesome.

the average level of play is much higher in this qualifier than the kespa one so. also pls they could have communicated that there was no stream, whats the excuse for that. i was looking forward to this, so did lot of people, not communicating at all sends the message " sorry but we dont care about you ". thats it, im fine with no stream, just tell that theres no stream to people who care about it

The question that burns in my mind is, "Why did they even put it on the TL schedule if they aren't going to stream anything?" That's the truly fustrating part.

I don't feel like I have a right to watch this or that OGN has a responsibility to broadcast it, but the logic behind the decision to not cover this event escapes me.
Yes, there are a ton of games and players, but this moment is historic for OGN and eSports as a whole. The event is occuring at a time that would very conducive for an American audience, a huge market for eSports and a market that we know KeSPA, at least, if not OGN, desires as evidenced by their partnership with MLG. I know if given the chance I would be gladly watching these prelims. Even if it was just moletrap solo-casting in 480 from a laptop and only getting a fraction of the games, I'd still watch. Throw an OGN logo on that stream, run some ads while moletrap jumps from game to game. Suddenly OGN is exposing itself to a new audience and making money while doing so and all it costs them is some floorspace and whatever moletrap's salary is.
