ESEA Season 12 begins with an exciting match between Evil Geniuses and LighT eSports. After a two season absence from ESEA, EG returns as a heavy favorite to win the league. LighT looks to improve upon last season's 4th place finish and this match marks the debut of LighT's two newest members, Sson and SeoHyeon. This should be a fantastic match and great start to this season of ESEA!
Also, just wanted to say that leading up to the great bout between EG and LighT there are 2 other matches going on. To see a full stream list you can check out the following article on ESEA: http://news.esea.net/sc2/index.php?s=news&d=comments&id=11573 (just in case you wanted to have embedded links of the streams going on tonight)
Binski does some good econ damage to Suppy via Hellion and Banshee harrass. Suppy, in retaliation, gears-up for Muta-Ling-Bane coming-off of a nearly un-used Roach Warren. Three bases to three bases.
to the caster: One thing you might want to do is to get an overlay to cover up the little replay thing. It's just nice to make it have that more live feel
Binski snipes the fifth of Suppy, but at the cost of losing all his tanks and the majority of his Marines, still with no fourth of his own. Suppy closes-out the game soon after. 2-0 Suppy, GG!
KawaiiRice-brand Top Splits NA(TM), brought to you by LighT-corp. Great mechanical play by Kawaii allows his brave men to move forward on to a sea of creep, take loses, but persevere, continuing on to IdrA's front door and forcing a GG.
sloppy play by idra -_- if he had some ultras he would have broken KR's push... instead he got the chance to get both infestor upgrades simultaenously -_-

I wouldn't even call it being on a tilt to be honest. He just never learned to embrace the idea of micro and how to engage battles being very important components of successful play. He thinks outmacroing his opponent is enough to best everyone, which was true a year and a half ago but nowadays most players have adapted to the different playstyle SCII requires in contrast to BW. If you see players like Stephano and TaeJa, you'll notice that their macro is not even the best in the world, however their engagements, meaning positioning before a battle and microing in the battle is just an art in itself. The better user interface (which means there's less macroing to do) means there's more potential attention left for the actual battles. Other players have caught up on that fact and put FAR more emphasis on engagements, if Idra doesn't begin to care for putting mor emphasis on proper army engagements, he will be left in the dust. I'm not saying that this game was an obvious example for that fact, but rather that that's his underlying problem which keeps him from becoming a better player. Still, his engagements were not THAT bad but he could've gotten more out of his army value.
He just wants to ride on his macro-wave straight to the win. Nope, not gonna happen. Not anymore. Not in 2012.
Edit: I'm not saying that's his only problem, nor do I say his engagements are generally bad. He tilts pretty hard sometimes and his engagements often are pretty good. Still, to me he seems to have the mindset that as far as he's macroing better, he should win, which simply is false.

Game three ends in a doom-drop by KawaiiRice in response to a scary Blood Lord-Infestor army with a lot of lings and Banelings taking-out his fourth. Nearly the entire main of IdrA is taken-out, but Kawaii can't defend at home and IdrA pushes up in to the natural. IdrA takes the game, tying the series up 1-1.
odd people want to be so down about each match idra loses.. guess what? Series was actually really good.. Kawaii and IdrA put on a show in that last game and it was fucking good. No need to psycho analyze each player and over analyze their lives.. we are at a stage where good players can beat each other. Nice job by kawaii!

I think Idra would beg to differ. Instead of that last game being good, I think Idra thinks it was fucking retarded!
instead of just microing his broodlords back towards corrupters and infestors or throwing down infested terrans to protect against vikings.... he just sits there sieged on the planetary and then leaves the game =/
not trying to say I would have won if it were me, but those guys were rough to watch.
GG IdrA. IdrA had one good engagement Game 3 but had two major bad engagements, if not more. Not the best way to trade efficiently. Oh, and I'm not the highest level zerg (I don't even play zerg) but shouldn't zergs build spines a lot earlier, so they can maynard them to developing hatches? IdrA had tons of minerals for awhile.
Still, pretty exciting games. I'm hoping EG wins, while I wear my EG jersey so damn proudly.

You actually posted this before the last match was even over :/ (finished just now for me, or is my stream far behind? o_O) But you're right, that last game was pretty epic, although IdrA would probably not agree judging from his statement "this is fucking retarded"

S'alright, he already posted on his twitter the result from his individual match, so spoiling the outcome of stuff is clearly not really an issue.
I do apologize if my stream is lagging by an hour and a match, as the first game just started on my stream and the tween was 50 minutes ago.

The series was good, and even then I'd say IdrA wasn't playing at his best. People just like to shit on Greg -- perhaps for good reason, as he brings a lot down on himself. Either way, it does get a bit out-of-hand. People don't realize this is a guy who just gave Team TaeJa a run for his money.

That was cast first, actually, so you wouldn't see it anyway.

nobody knew patch 1.5 randomly started showing observer chat if the replay was recorded by an observer sick patch

The 2nd game of Sson vs iNcontroL was during the cast of game 2 binski vs Suppy. binski vs Suppy was casted first.
I was also simply unaware that observer chat now showed in replays with the new patch. I apologize again.
Thorzain takes game 2 against SeoHyeon, tying-up the series at 1-1. Thorzain has to take game three to keep EG alive by forcing an Ace match. Can he do it?!?!?!?
Idra is really easy to abuse, sad because he would be a good player if he could fix this issue, but as it stands any smart player will beat him every series every time...
Aww man, AFK'd for 15 and came back to an overall loss by EG. Still a decent series, hopefully things turn out differently once we get our JYP, Puma, Demuslim back from Europe.
He was the creator of the dreamteam clan in Brood War, which uses the Dream.t) tag and has had members such as JangBi, Hyun, Supernova and others
Also well done by LighT, congrats on the win. The two favorites EG and iS already taking losses, competition is fierce! Glad Suppy won his match though

Woah, really? He created Dream.t)? A lot of huge names came out of there.
he bmed again? He will NEVER be at the top with his attitude. It's like he is thinking during the game 'I have better macro so I will win, I'm the best' and when he loses he bms and call this game stupid :D. I really was a fan of Idra some time ago but he doesn't even try to change. When he streams he keeps bming Protosses who allin. Idra never changes! So sad.

I'm going to assume that you meant to say "can we even consider EG a good team". That, my friend, is debatable. The team is going through a slow period I feel. Then again, JYP did make Code S and did pretty well in the GSTL. But the there are a lot of players on the team that just don't show results (anymore).
How did EG lose to an unknown team full of unknown players? (besides M18M) EG has more skill on their team like IdrA. Oh well, he must have tilted some how.

I mean... LighT isn't say, mouz or Fnatic or anything like that... but LighT is... not unknown.

Somehow idra is tillting for last year and cant win anything, beside that light is not uknown team full of unknown players.

Game 1: Antiga. Proxy 2gate in the natural, Incontrol doesn't send out a scout, gg as soon as the Zealots walk up the ramp. Game 2: Entombed. Wasn't watching too closely, but basically ended up M18M on 1 base with Gateway/Immortal army vs Incontrol on 2 base with smaller Gateway/Immortal army. M18M pushed up the ramp, outmicro'd him, and won.

Game 2... Son tried to go FE and iNcontroL pressured, so he cancelled his nexus and then went 4g blink immortal. iNcontroL went 4g blink immortal too, but tried to expand, so had a smaller army.

ahahahaha thats hilarious. i totally agree with your sentiments, and everytime i bash him i get banned for it. still doesn't change the fact that he has a shitty attitude and shitty results to show for it. lol!
I understand that maybe seohyeon deserved to beat Thorzain, and PvP without scouting is always a risk, and not even much of one these days (from the quick summary above), but going down 3 1 instead of 2 2 after how well EG has done in the team leagues, and how well Idra just played vs Taeja, is bad
That said. Big fan, hardlines. Gl for the next round

Honestly I don't see a big deal, it is the regular season and this is the whole fun of watching team matches! You get to see teams battle off amongst each other to prove who can currently win. Teams get caught off guard, and then they can turn and have a player all kill a team. In all honesty, this is why I love the team format and I think we should all just enjoy the games we were able to watch
To be honest, this will just make EG hungrier to win out i'm sure haha.
P.S. This is also a great chance for people to see players they may have not known about, so really great job to all of the LightT players

It's not really new for no name Koreans to be on par if not better than the top foreigners.. I have a vaugue idea who Seohyeon is, he was on vVv for a bit and xSix. I don't know what incontrol is talking about, theres like no way people would know who he is.

Not sure why Suppy winning is a surprise... he's beastly right now... and KawaiiRice vs IdrA could have gone either way, same with Thorzain vs SeoHyun. The games were incredibly good/close. iNcontroL vs Sson was just scouting mistakes, it's not like the match was one sided at all. It was all close ;;
Plus just 1 week of regular season. I'm sure we'll be meeting EG again in the finals :D!

He's one of those people that call themselves fans of starcraft yet know absolutely nothing.
kawaiirice may not be unknown but that's not saying much. TT1 and drewbie arent unknowns, but like kawaiirice they have not been relevant since forever. in fact i am surprised kawaiirice still plays.
since EG has a pretty decent roster now, perhaps they should find some good coaches for their EG house?

Maybe it just shows that Kawaii is better than you think... Or that IdrA is not as good as you hope he is?
