Not a theory. I'm at the event, and friends with Suppy. Him and team EG were shown the WCS bracket 2 hours before the event started, while everyone else didn't know their opponent until 10-15 minutes before it began. As for whining, Illusion and others were annoyed too. EG players knew the WCS bracket/opponent at least day before event. Players were complaining about it the night before the tourney. according to sirscoots logic on twitter all you had to do was ask a official for your opponent. Don't know too much about this situation or have I read goswser's comments in this thread (besides the ones quoted on this page) but if the bold part is true then I don't see any issues. So if you know officials of a event you're allowed to get a advantage a day early over lesser known teams/players who maybe don't have the same connections to track down a official? Doesn't seem very fair.
Life's not fair, in competition, the teams with higher resources will always employ those resources to have an advantage, it's a fact of life, it's part of what makes the underdog an underdog and boosts merit of his/her win. At the same time, it'd be absurd to try to dismiss Idra's well-earned success, as preparation can only get you so far in such a short period and with so many games and different series.
That said, it's not like EG had the money to buy advanced info, or anything, it was just asking an official. That doesn't take big brand names to do, even an underdog can network and at the very least become somewhat of an acquaintance with an official to find out such information. Also, complexity and quantic aren't exactly no-names, too, as others have mentioned.

when idra loses fans find ridiculous excuses for the reasoning of his loss and bla bla, when idra wins ppl find ridiculous excuses for the reasoning of his wins?? circle of life

EG hacked thru the firewall and slipped a trojan in the backdoor, which obtained idra's match schedule. Then scoots bribed sundance in order to find a chair for Greg that could provide more lumbar support along with one of those foot bath massage dealies. The real scoop: Alex Garfield and the rest of eg's management sought out sponsors to provide their players with advantageous training conditions and competitive preparation!!! Idra then proceeded to play excellent starcraft against a myriad of opponents representing each race because he saw the brackets a day earlier than everybody else.

Considering MLG isn't very organized (we still having issues with the open bracket?), it's more like the information is available but not easily visible. Maybe you should've asked, goswser. Your intuition is terrible. No it was not available, and no, me asking wouldn't have told me anything. Maybe you should listen to someone who is actually at the event andn stop being an idiot. And me and idra are not chums, but that isn't the point and has nothing to do with what I am saying. Obviously it isn't game changing against Stalife, but that isn't the point. My other post was just taking a shot at idra by the way. Apparently you're getting a lot of hate from forum posters. Honestly I have no idea why. Thanks a bunch for the information.
yeah, thanks for the info, you know if this was the other way around then everyone would be going crazy including idra

Not only is it fair, but it's common sense.
Resourceful team, being resourceful.

Well, if someone from EG asks early for information about the bracket, and gets it, they haven't done anything wrong. It's the tournament organizers responsibility to make shure everyone gets his information at the same time. So please stop whining about EG. Also, it doesn't really help you to know the bracket 2 hours earlier, because what are you going to do with it?

When are the WCS games today?

Yeah, why do the intelligent thing when you can whine on tl/twitter or to your friends. Great logic.

gogo Scarlett, looking dominant

Woohoo IdrA wining and seeing goswser whining makes this a really special tournament. Gogo and win in China again mr Fields.
|
Gogogo IdrA. Really want to see Greg make a resurgence. Bring it home for USA.

This accusation is pants-on-head retarded. What advantage exactly would knowing the first round and being able to extrapolate with only limited accuracy the second? More to the point how does that help IdrA in LB-R5? Guess all that super secret EG info was what helped HuK bomb out so quickly too.

I'm interested in this bit from Liquipedia:
"Scarlett and ViBE will finish in qualifying positions, but since they had already qualified for the World Championship (by winning the Canada and USA Nationals, respectively), seeds will be awarded to the 8th and 9th place finishers. The 9th place finisher will be determined by a single elimination consolation bracket between the players who are eliminated in Losers Bracket Round 4."
The players eliminated in Loser's Bracket Round 4 are:
Suppy DdoRo Fitzyhere HuK
I hope they show all of the matches.

Is there any idea when Suppy v Ddoro is occurring? Or if it's already on how is it going?
