ooof Sick match and I like both teams. But gotta support and go with TSL on this one TSL zerg lineup is so sick and Polt can beat anyone on Prime. Just gotta stop ByuN and MKP and Creator early on then TSL should take it there line up feels overall more solid and deep.
At this point, Prime really only can rely on MKP and Creator to carry the team, as the rest of the members really have not been pushing their weight around for the team. If MKP and Creator can gain momentum, TSL is in trouble, but if MKP is sniped by a Zerg, and Creator somehow loses, TSL can take it.

TSL 5-3 Prime
Byun is still an absolute heavyweight. Don't count him out just because he had a rather weak day in Code S (and still only lost to By.Rain who is owning everyone now).
Really excited to see Kevin at Dreamhack! I think he's at his best at live events, and he seems like such a nice guy. Dunno if I heard him cast with Apollo, but can't imagine it being anything less than fantastic!
tbh i think starting with maru is a good choice - fairly solid in all matchups (maybe a bit zerg-weak), prime is terran-heavy, and byun/mkp you don't want falling too early. gives maru a bit more experience too use mkp as a protoss or terran sniper, hope he sweeps a bit (definitely able to take 2-4 wins on a good day) bboong if someone is zerg-weak (e.g. zvt) bbong is bad against protoss, but prime is very strong against protoss anyway) use byun as neccessary! similar role as mkp i guess, but very different style, so mixing up byun/mkp is good to keep oponents on their toes close out with creator, who has like a 14-2 record in ace matches (has only ever lost to bomber)

I've never seen Kevin casting in an other event than an IPL one. But I'll never forget his shout out for the GSTL final.

If it's true it's really weird indeed. SKT.Rain would be a great choice I think.

Rain would be great, but I don't think we will see a Kespa player in fightclub for quite some time. Not really enough money for them to divert their attention from bigger tournaments like OSL GSL and when next season starts pro league too.

Titan has odd PvZ, good enough to consistently beat the best zergs in Europe. I'm sure that IPL is also thinking about their foreign audience with this showmatch.

Well, the cash prize for beating Hyun is 600$ + 500$ for the victory. I think it's "enough" money for a BO9.

Titan does have an odd PvZ but HyuN knows it.. he has already beat him in I think it was a Zotac cup. I haven't seen him actually play any of the top zergs in Europe so I'll have to take your word on that. But still HyuN is leagues above Europe's top zergs(Especially in on line tournies). If you want to pander to the foreign viewers with it, try getting at least a Terran or a higher calibre foreign protoss.
Again I'm not trying to be mean to Titan but I expect a 5-0 or 5-1 absolute beat down in this weeks Fight club....
This game is a prime example of why I hate the infestor as a unit, Marineking has a massive lead and gets caught clumped once and a single fungal drops him 60 supply.

Meh, he just lost to Nerchio in the ZOTAC Monthly.
The number of top tier foreign terrans is sparse. There are few foreign protosses better than Titan, you just don't hear much about him.

Yea mean HyuN just lost to Nerchio? Awhh but still losing a ZvZ isn't really telling to be fair. I will admit I don't know THAT much about Titan, but I have seen a couple of his games and I'm still not convinced he is near HyuN's skill(Though I am kind of biased being a HyuN fan!) Either way I guess we shall find out on monday...
Ugh, fungal really ruining the game for MKP. He looked like he was doing so well, denying 4th/5th, putting loads of pressure on Symbol, and having his own fourth then BAM, everything goes down from there.

Let's consider our options. Mana? Would get destroyed. HasuObs? Not wild enough to control the series. Nightend? Same deal. Sase? Too inconsistent in PvZ to trust over a Bo9. BabyKnight? He has the potential but only recently started to show the results. Fraer could do it but there's no real reason to pick him over Titan.
Aww, I didn't notice that! Post count master!

wtf?....
Foreign terran I mean, you notice ?
ah ok. Yea lucifron would have the best shot of foreign T's. Would still probably get 5-0'd tho. Hyun is on a different level than Stephano.
Still think B4 was a strange pick, Symbol's ZvZ is scary as fuck and B4's a good sniper to have on deck for Polt. I mean Symbol is probably the most inconsistent player in Korea atm but when he's good, he's dominant.
Prime really needs more Zergs. They suffer in terms of depth from being so heavy on one race. It helps that Creator is really damn good, but B4 is too average to adequately fill in the Zerg void in their roster.
On September 20 2012 09:05 stephenrau wrote: Has B4 ever come through in a team game? He's cost Prime so many times I can't help being a big antifan
to be fair, Prime only ever uses MKP, Maru, B4, Byun, and Creator. They need a top Zerg imo
That's what I'm saying.. he's put in situations where a zerg should succeed and he never does. Granted against Symbol he's a big underdog but it seemed like that game he should have won. B4 used to be Code S/A but admits the pressure gets to him. But I'm not sure if that's the case or just skill level.
I was temporarily annoyed at Creator as well for GSTL where his super passive play against zerg with a huge lead (instead of going for the kill like MC) cost them a big game last season.. But I think he's improved a lot in that regard. Yonghwa is also super cautious at times and frustrating to watch.

You can say Creator is just better than MKP actually.
nah, not so sure of that just yet. mkp has achieved much more, and creator is more recent/rising than mkp
Yes, of course in a big event like MLG/IPL or GSL (Creator not even in code S) MKP is a safer bet but Creator just won TSL4 and WCS KR. The level of WCS KR was just insane.

This is a bit beyond the realm of constructive criticism, but here goes anyway. Hopefully I'm not the only one feeling this.
IPL: Please invest in some better casting. I don't want to hate on anyone in particular, but IPTL/IPL regularly has some of the best matchups. But the casters are so awful (childish, awkward) the stream is nearly unwatchable despite the sick lineups.
so many zergs leave as soon as their hatch dies, yet I have seen plenty of zergs get wins when they continued to play. If you don't want to put in the effort you won't become a better player. It's easy to play when you're ahead.
People love to bitch at Blizzard and blame balance but hasnt the #1 reason for the struggles of Terran vs Zerg lategame (besides the improvement of zergs) been the change in maps. Like the map Maru just played and maps like Atlantis Spaceship, Metropolis, etc., Instead of old maps Antiga, Shakuras, etc. Maybe it is a balance issue when terran can't macro quite like zerg lategame but that's the very nature of the races. So if they changed the map pool things would be very different for all the races.
Oh wow, Entombed Valley spells bad news for HyuN I feel. If HyuN loses this, only Polt can stand toe to toe with Creator, and then ByuN is always there.

People already knew about this for a long time. Steppes of War anyone?

Actually a lot of the time I enjoy their casters, particularly the day Axslav was casting
piss poor play from hyun. he got to 5 bases while creator was building his third, surprised him with mutas before blink and he still loses due to no spine wall and no infestor tech when he was on 3k+ overmins when creator attacked
On September 20 2012 10:08 GreyKnight wrote: hyun actually had a chance in this game hmmm
he had many chances. If he had transitioned behind his mutas and gone to infestor/ling Creator would not have had a chance.
At some point blink stalkers simply are too efficient (esp. if you fall behind in upgrades which you almost always do). I like playing mutas against protoss, but if the Toss reacts as well as Creator did you need to transition out asap.
Mmmmm protoss players are getting really good at scouting over the entire map with zealots for hidden buildings. I swear, whenever I get into a base race, I have no idea where they are hiding, but pros seem to have zealots everywhere seeing everything.
On September 20 2012 10:11 PhoenixVoid wrote: Sad thing was that HyuN could have won that if he simply set up the Spines 50 seconds before.
He had 3k minerals and was on 100 drones and maxed on mutas for the longest time. I have no idea why he didn't make spines, you're supposed to anyway in any base race situation and it looks like he was setting up for that the entire game.
That was probably the first time I saw such a situation. An observer saw an entire doom drop AND positioned units accordingly and then still took gamebreaking damage because he didnt control his stalkers and templar in time..
On top of that it happened exactly the same way a second time... Creator threw this away when he had it. (Three times actually his probes at the natural could have (and should have) killed the bunker.
Polt doom drop style is kinda gimmicky I feel. He often get punished hard for it
It took a long time to finish the game after doing so much damage at the begining too. Overall not as impressive as I wish it would be as a Polt fan =(

BCs transition only happend in Mech vs Biomech gamess tho. Korean marinetank versus marinetank usually don't transition, at all.
Damn, if Polt had only been a little more patient and not attacked ByuN at the one-base mode, he could have won and just rode his macro advantage further.

They do have good players, especially in Creator and Byun, but I thought with Symbol, Polt, and Hyun still up they didn't have much of a shot.
Proleague by Sayle is so awesome.. My favorite moment was when Sayle was cracking up over Leta giving Effort the death stare for getting eliminated in the base race vs Bisu.

creator is arguably better than any of the three, haha

I totally agree. It's not like SlayerS or MVP who sent b-teamers. TSL sent all his great players but not in the good order I think. Shine as ace is a weird choice. Symbol or Polt would have been way better.

symbol was sniping mkp, polt to snipe creator. TSL doesn't have many options really other than those two to snipe MKP/creator, so this was the only way to roll imo.
Zerg really need to start mixing in queens with their unit compositions. Transfuse is great for keeping your expensive units like ultralisks, infestors and broodlords alive, and they make banshees pretty useless in tandem with infestors and overseers. Having just infestors as AA tho, leaves you so vulnerable to banshees.
ByuN always manages to pull for Prime when they are down, and TSL continues the trend of 5-4 almost every team game in IPTL (and IPL TAC). I like to think I blame it on HyuN, because he should have defeated Creator earlier and probably could have beat ByuN, or at least left him to Polt.

i'm not so sure; had there been spines up, creator would have just fallen back and gone into a longer game. it's not like that push was all-in and had to deal damage creator handled the mutas extremely well =] also, byun good mang!

Given the last results of MKP against Zerg, they could have taken the risk of sending Shine or RevivaL to snipe MKP while keeping Symbol as the ace.
Well it's not so bad. Losing 5-4 against one of the best (if not the best) team-leagues team is still a decent result.
Yay ByuN, I'm so happy right now considering his run this season in code S T_T. Glad to see him playing well, Shine isn't a walkover but I'd have loved to see him against Symbol or HyuN

Yeah it's not like Creator wanted to base trade, it's HyuN was so screwed by compo he have no choice but to base trade

Prime have absolutely no depth... After the starting 5, they have AriA, Classic, Lucy, Salmosa... out of the 4 I'm most curious of Lucy, who supposed to be a (even) younger version of Creator, he made Code A prelim final first try, taking out Ready but lost to Dream

Prime actually was on the verge of disbanding for a very very long time, until they came up with the weird SC2 team / online fashion store abomination.
And I don't think they ever recruited any well established player (only exception I can think of is ByuN), they always grew their own talents.

Wow, I've never heard that before? When was that posted? The tone doesn't sound like a joke and he did say him and his coach had disagreements on things, but wouldn't elaborate at the time. Guess this was the disagreement, but man it sucks hongun didn't pay him back, but quitting the team is kind of drastic. However, if you can't get along with someone in the team house, I guess you wouldn't want to live with that person.

Sorry guys Creator said that he is a year older and I read it as if he said that Lucy a year younger, so Lucy is 16 years old (Creator 15).
All information about Lucy: 1) Name: 조지현 Jo Ji Hyun 2) Nickname: Lucy (he used this id in GSL prelims). 3) Age: 16 (a year older then Creator). 3) He was firstly mentioned in Creator's interview "Recently, we acquired a new player named Jo Ji Hyun. He's a year older than me but I wish him the best of luck since he's with Prime now". 4) Creator also thanked Lucy for practicing after winning WCS. " I want to thank the players who practised with me, FXO's Tear, and from our team Jo Ji Hyun, Song Gwang Ho (Aria from Woongjin not a new Prime member)". 5) Lucy took part in the GSL prelims 2012 Global StarCraft II League Season 4/Preliminaries/Day1. This is probably his battle.net account (he changed it from LuCyPrime to 만들고제명프라임 where 프라임 means Prime). PS. He is not ACE.GooJila lol :D
