5.00 Sun spawning as the red Protoss in the 11 o'clock position. PartinG spawning as the blue Protoss in the 5 o'clock position.
Both players opening Gateway before Gas. Both of them getting Cybernetics Core at pretty much the exact same time.
PartinG hiding a Probe in the 1 o'clock base. Throws down a Pylon. Warpgate is a bit faster for PartinG.
Stargate on the way for Sun. Twilight Council is proxied for partinG.
Gateway added on for Sun. PartinG also adding on a Gateway.
10.00 Dark Shrine on the way for PartinG, adding on another Gate. Phoenix coming out first for Sun as he adds on another Gateway.
Phoenix immediately scouted by PartinG. Robo on the way for Sun.
First DT warping in! Sun has fully walled off his main with Pylons.
DT moves up the ramp of Sun, wastes a couple forcefields before finally hitting right, blocking off the DT! First Observer is out.
PartinG morphing DTs into Archon. PartinG decides to push up, not able to get into the main due to the pylon wall. Archon breaks down some forcefields but quickly goes down!
PartinG forced to pull back, Sun moves out to take out forward Pylons. First Immortal is out. PartinG going for an expansion.
15.00 I'm lagging so so bad. Sun going for his own expand, getting a Robo Bay. Robo Facility is up for PartinG.
Colo production started for Sun. Blink done for PartinG.
Sun is looking to push out, taking the middle. Forward pylon is going down for Sun as he moves closer.
First Colo joins up with the army. DT is killing off Probes in the natural of Sun!
Sun decides to push in! The Immortals along with the Colo absolutely demolishes the army of PartinG, expansion goes down, Sun pushes into the main.
The DT in Sun's base is cleaned up quite easily. PartinG pulls his Probes to join the fight, but it's not enough, the Immortals are still alive and the army of PartinG once again dies.
5.00 Sun spawning as the red Protoss in the 5 o'clock position. PartinG spawning as the blue Protoss in the 11 o'clock position.
Both players opening with a Gateway, PartinG about 3 seconds ahead of Sun. Same goes for the Assimilators.
Cybernetics Core, still about 3 seconds between the two players. Rain taking his gas next, a bit earlier than PartinG.
Warpgate for both players, Rain adding on a second Gateway. I'm still lagging...
Twilight Council coming in from PartinG. Adding on another Gateway. Twilight Council on the way for Rain as well now, a bit later. Blink started by PartinG.
15.00 Robotics Facility added on for both players, PartinG a bit ahead. Couple more Gates coming in from PartinG.
Blink started by Rain. Another Gateway added on for PartinG. Both players starting their first Observers.
Three stalkers from Rain caught out in the middle, but only one is taken out as the blink barely finishes for Rain. PartinG pulling back. Cleans up a forward pylon in his third.
Rain taking down one of PartinG's pylons. Immortal production started by PartinG.
Nexus started by PartinG. Rain manages to snipe a pylon in PartinG's base with an observer.
Rain loses a Stalker while trying to poke up the natural of PartinG. Nexus now coming in for Rain as well.
Lag again. Rain chrono boosting his Robo.
Parting starting to poke outside the main of Rain again, Rain notices it. PartinG once again pulls back. Rain takes out a forward Pylon.
Robotics Bay on the way for PartinG. Another forward Pylon taken out by PartinG.
Another Robo Facility for PartinG. Forge started for both players.
Colossus range started by PartinG. Rain is getting his own Robo Bay.
Couple Gates added on for Rain. Colo range started by rain as well. +1 attack started for both players, PartinG addin on a few Gates.
Third Nexus on the way for PartinG.
20.00 Rain taking his own third. Templar Archives started for PartinG. Charge on the way for Rain.
+2 attack started by PartinG. Rain has double Robo.
Four more Gates added on for PartinG. Templar ARchives on the way for Rain as well, started +2 attack.
Charge coming in for PartinG. Rain adding on a couple more Gates of his own.
Rain picks off a couple of rogue Probes. PartinG starts to move out, takes the middle while Rain cleans off a couple of forward Pylons.
Small Stalker taskforce moves forward, doesn't do any damage and blinks out. PartinG now pushing closer towards the natural of Rain, some posturing back and forth.
25.00 PartinG blinks a couple Stalkers into the main, no damage is done as Cannons are there. Can't really tell what the timer says.
A couple Stalkers blink into the third of Rain, but cannons are already there. A couple of pot shots from Rain on the army of PartinG. +3 almost done for PartinG, Rain is only halfway.
PartinG goes for it, gets a great concave and some nice targe firing with the Immortals, but Rain simply has too much, everything but the COlo goes down for PartinG, he's forced to pull back!
Rain scouts the fourth in the 12 o'clock of Parting with a Zealot. PartinG scouts the fourth of Rain in the 3 o'clock but it's defended.
PartinG's army goes for a flank but is trapped by Immortals and Colo, two Colo goes down!
Another two rogue Colos go down for PartinG as Rain traps the mid-map! Probes on the fourth of PartinG are all taken out!
27.00 Some more Zealots from Rain try to go for the fourth of Rain, but at the same time Rain goes in with his main army and destroys the remaining Colossi!
5.00 Rain spawning as the red Protoss in the 5 o'clock positions. PartinG spawning as the blue Protoss in the 11 o'clock positions.
As per usual, Gateway first, Assimilator second. PartinG going for double gas.
Second gas taken by Rain. Cybercore is pretty much exactly the same for both.
Rain taking a second Gate. Warpgate tech started for both.
Twilight COuncil on the way for PartinG. Stargate for Rain.
Another Gate on the way for PartinG, getting Blink. Aaand another Gate.
Phoenix on the way for Rain.
10.00 A Gateway added on for Rain. Warpgate tech finishes for both players.
PartinG getting a forward Pylon by the third of Rain. Robo on the way for Rain, adding on 1 more Gates.
PartinG preparing for a push. PartinG goes in, nice forcefield goes down, but PartinG blinks in with all his Stalkers, quickly disposing of everything in Rain's base.
Phoenixes come back, lift up three Stalkers, but there are stilll far too many Stalkers on the board for PartinG. Rain GGs!
10.00 PartinG spawning as the blue Protoss in the 1 o'clock position. Rain spawning as the blue Protoss in the 7 o'clock position.
I forgot to refresh the stream and missed the first four minutes, woop woop! Neither player has an expansion, Rain is getting 4 gates, and there's a Robo and two gates out from PartinG.
And my stream crashed, BEAUTIFUL.
Here's what I got though: Rain pushes into the main of PartinG while throwing up Pylons outside and right inside. Warpgate research is not finished for PartinG yet. PartinG is forced to pull off Probes, and they die by the dozen.
PartinG hangs on and is microing very well, but he doesn't have the income to sustain the continuous warpins.
Oh, PartinG had proxied a RObo in the bottom of the map, didn't help him much. The last Stalkers fall, PartinG shakes his head, and GG is called.
2. Open Network Stream in VLC Player (under Media)
3. Click on the Network tab, paste the link and hit play. If you encounter an error keep tying to initialize the stream, it may take a few tries depending on when you try to connect. Also note that it is best to try to connect a few minutes before the broadcast to get a working and/or smooth stream.
4. Enjoy the awesomeness of Kim Carrier, Jun Yong Joon, and Um Jae Kyung. :D

No they play Tuesday at 10:30 GMT (+00:00).
Edit: I should also mention that I didn't have any plans to do anything past the Ro8 as in the past other people have made very tailored threads for each match up and I wanted to keep that open.

I think parting will win 3-1 he has very strong pvp.

As he will be able to train for an entire week on his PvP I expect nothing but stellar performance out of Rain. Even though the same could be said for Parting, I expect a 3-2 victory in favour of Rain. Just because he's madfuckingsickbrilliantawesome.
As much as I fell in love with parting when he first splashed onto the scene, Rain is like the first protoss since Hero I can look at and say "finally this is how you are supposed to play protoss, and this guy actually gets it!". So yeah destroy him Rain, I wanna see more of your sexy play in osl.

The only thing is everyone has said this about every protoss who has ever done good in any sc2 league ever
Parting should be able to take this. His pvp is strong compared to Rain and he has more time to focus on the OSL than Rain, who's still in the GSL. And I think kespa players are still weak to long series, since the esf players have had a lot more experience planning sc2 series. (a bigger collection of cheese strategies etc.)

Rain's PvP seems really weak unless it's improved vastly since we last saw it. Parting's PvP is also really good... given the fact that Rain also has to practice for both leagues and I'm inclined to say Parting has a really good chance of taking it.

No.
Kespa players excel in long series.
I'm not so sure about that. In time, sure. But now? Ehhh... The current pros know a lot more builds off of the top of their heads (especially cheeses) just from having played for so long.
I'd say they excel when given time to prepare, but that's kind of a moot point for Rain as I doubt he'll have enough time to thoroughly prepare for both leagues.

Two tournaments are well separated, at least one week preparation time for both GSL and OSL quarterfinals, that's plenty of time. Problem is to find good training partners. SKT is already eliminated from Proleague, his teammates are all on vacation by now. And he obviously does not know GSL guys very well.
Next week is OSL quarterfinals, the week after is GSL quarterfinals.

Rain is not a rookie anymore - they grow up so fast... I remember the times when he was clearly winning a game but messed up timing attack and lost a couple but now he finishes off most times when he is ahead.

Although Rain is indeed way better than he was when he played MKP...in that bo1 MKP beat himself rather than Rain winning the game.

MKP, Buyn and Polt have always been in the top tier Terran like forever, Taeja just broke out after joining Liquid but still really good at online events. May be you should read some interviews and see how they consider buyn is a top Terran right now.

If you know absolutely nothing about terran players don't comment on them.
I wonder what sort of crowd will turn out with Korean's love for blizzard games/mmo's and the wow expo out just before this starts, also being a pvp and not the biggest fan favourites.
Rain is my new favorite protoss, close after Squirtle. He is really in good shape now, no wonder if he beats Parting. He has potential going far in both tournaments.

Of course, Rain rocks!
He needs to get through Flash and his goldy TvP to win the OSL, it's possible though! (assuming Flash can beat Last wednesday (of course he can!))
Rain fighting for tomorrow! :D
Did you even see Sun PvT against Taeja and Polt(both best TvP in the world)?
He absolutely demolished them.
He demolished Taeja, but the Polt games was Rain getting the better build-order twice (All-in>Greedy and Greedy > Safe) and losing the only game both sides were equal going in the end game. I expect Flash to beat Rain, he won't make the same mistake in build choices as Polt did.

That's quite simplifying it. In the 2 games he won, polt just got out played.
In the first game, the scout deny was awesome. He even sent in a probe to mimic an expansion(which wasn't even needed) when polt finally got to his base. Because he knew his build wasn't scouted, he delayed his rush by 1 warp cycle to guarantee the win. The fact that @ the pro level, polt had no idea the 4gate was coming meant that he just got crushed. He only has himself to blame for his terrible scouting.
In the 3rd game, the double expo was in response to the engy block on his natural. Polt even scouted the early third and took it out. The game was even going into late game, and it was his doom-drop that sealed his loss.

You have a point, but game 2 wasn't even close to being equal going into lategame. Polt got an advantage midgame through Rain misreading Polt's build and overreacting to relatively light pressure, which Polt managed to turn into a winning advantage with his doom drop in the main. Rain was insurmountably behind after that. How he managed to stay in the game so long and even make it close again is still a mystery to me.
PvP for SC2 isn't quite like BW. There's a little more micro and volatility involved. I think Sun can do it if he prepares hard. His micro is pretty damn good as far as I've seen. But I still think Parting has this one in the bag...well maybe it will be like a 3-2 in favor of any of these two.
I hope Parting does a ceremony if he wins though. Hehe

Dunno im sad its PvP, its like BW ZvZ. Predicting this is hell, and i doubt SC2 got their "Jaedong" yet. Sometimes you witness great PvP series, but most of the time, you scratch your head. Yes its fair match up but honestly SC2 ZvZ is kid play in terms of predicting compared to PvP despite the popular belief.

apart from the first OSL LR which had a crapton of pages, the hype for this has fallen off a lot, even when GSL has only had code A or up/downs
I can understand for the group stages where it's BO1 with only four matches a day (I personally didn't mind it) but this is a BO5 quarter final with insane players, I guess people are unaware.
I think most of it attributes to the fact Grubby isn't casting any more. Personally I'm watching the Korean stream.
5.00 Sun spawning as the red Protoss in the 5 o'clock position. PartinG spawning as the blue Protoss in the 11 o'clock position.

True story, although in this case the players are so good I really don't give a damn who is shouting the game at me.

Doesn't seem like it's going this way at the moment, Protoss is a flawed race since the begining and they don't adress the core issues in HOTS (warp gate, colossus). Mothership core is a bandaid solution at best.
I am very intrigued if bison will be able to keep up his current rate of improvement. He's so new to the scene yet he's already dominating established players in every matchup. It's quite impressive to watch.

Actually not :p He had more immortals and better angle.
did he? PartinG made some more Immortals at one point, so I thought they were even. Rain definitely had the better positioning though. I suppose we'll see in a sec though.
Parting kinda reminds me of mkp in that he very easily gets visibly tilted. Like when he lost that game on CK against symbol, you could just see him struggling to keep his composure.
By.Rain going to get to the OSL finals at least. Parting isn't going to win 3 in a row, and Flash is good but By.Rain is playing like the hottest Protoss in the world at the moment.

They both had 5 immortals for the initial engagement. But Parting had like 10 more stalkers which are pretty much dead weight in big engagements like that.

yea I just noticed that Rain killed off a bunch of units in favor of getting more archons.
Guarantees at least one kespa player in the finals - the set below Rain is Flash vs Last. Pulling for MC or DRG on the other side of the bracket, need maximum drama/hype :>

If Rain wins OSL and GSL, he'll at-least in my eyes be a legitimate legend. The gravitas of his success so far weighs upon the fact that he's beating GSL Champions and similar calibre players in a game that they have been playing for 4 x longer. Not only that, he's bringing fresh new ideas, and showing us better multi tasking.

And people said PvP is worse than ZvZ.... PvP is the second best mirror. And Sun beating Parting in a dynamic fashion just shows that PvP is less volatile than ZvZ.

Rain is pretty good huh, that said I don't recall Parting being known as a strong PvP player.
Worth a watch by the sounds of it, will have to check these games out! Been a while since I've seen a PvP LR thread that isn't lamenting how bad PvP is
The OSL VOD system on Twitch is complete trash right now. No spoilers placeholders, every game is a separate VOD! Who can we contact to get this fixed, they just ruined Parting vs. Rain for me by game number 2.
