Should allow you to sign up! Entry fees will be by paypal to nofate678@yahoo.com! With that message that it is the entry fee for the tournament please! TL hasn't posted the tracker for this tournament yet and that is where the link was. I apologize!
LOL at the entry fee.
Random guy, will bring in $480 from entry fees, giving out $200 in prizes..... Sorry but this seems sketchy as fuck.
No offense but why would someone pay 15$ entry fee for a mediocre non-cash prize? First time poster, making sure you put the paypal for the entry fee... looks like a scam to me
Youre almost as good as the Nigerian Prince (ps theyre not even good prizes in terms of investment i am making)
It wasn't suppose to be $15, my bad. It's suppose to be $5 actually. I made the entry as high as 32 people but I wasn't honestly expecting it to fill up that high. If I got 32 entrees, I would actually make a third place prize as well. It isn't a scam this I promise you. If I still even get like 12 people overall by that time I'm still doing the tournament for starters. This will be the first one I'm hosting and if I get a good response I plan on doing these once a month if possible with prizes, or cash prize from entree!
I'm also open to suggestions for the prizes, these just what I thought of offhand. Me and buddy felt that at least hardware is one of the better prizes, I just wasn't sure as to what you know? Then 2nd place I had no idea so I felt that just doing a gift card for newegg would work better.
Honestly, if you guys would like to help me out for suggestions I'm open for it
Only reason I show as a first time poster is because I had been working on my stream for so long the past few months, which I would be hosting most of the tournament there. You guys can check it out at www.justin.tv/tricknasty99.
I've talked with Tricknasty and I can assure you he isn't out to take your money and run. He just wants to do some things for he community is all. While the initial 15 dollar entry may be a bit steep, I think that 5 dollar entry is pretty reasonable.
That's pretty much what Shocka said. On my stream I've been doing giveaways that weren't Starcraft 2 related. My main focus is to try to stick to mainly Starcraft 2 with other games on the side.
Maybe I'll signup, but I'd rather wait to see how many people sign up first. I'm Diamond so my chances of winning anything if there are 16+ masters players are extremely slim.
This is true Farmer. Eventually I may do like single skill level tournaments. We figured as the first one to give it as wider range of players to make sure we can actually hold it.
Getting responses that are saying maybe I should up the bracket, and lower the entry. Also perhaps a cash prize instead of the keyboard and giftcard. Like I said any suggestions will be strongly taken into consideration. You the community would be the ones playing, so what would you want for prizes. I may consider doing the keyboard and gift card, plus prize money on top of that to boot for like extra incentive. That sound better?

I'd sign up but I'm in plat so don't feel like giving away 3 bucks for no good reason. However, if you hosted a platinum league tournament, or a tournament without an entry fee I'd play. I'll also let my master league buddy know about this. (Wrote master league rather than master's league because "my master's league" sounds like something Vader would say).
Haha thanks Dougler. Yeah I'm trying to debate on what is the best skill rating for this. Maybe plat-diamond. Up to masters may hard unless it was just Diamond/masters perhaps. This is the first tournament I'm hosting so any feed back on it would be appreciated. I changed a lot of the details from the original. If it was Plat and Diamond would you be more opt to play maybe, or for just platinum?

Honestly, being your first tournament and something you are looking to build up over time I'd strongly suggest no entry fee and just put up some of your own money for prize(keep it modest, even just $50/$35 gift cards for 1st and 2nd or something like that).
The problem you risk is that if it doesn't run smooth, and there are always kinks to work out the first time running anything, people will be pissed and even demand refunds. A free tournament with a minor prize eliminates that risk, allows you to build your reputation and credibility, and get more people to sign up that are likely to sign up in the future if the event is fun and well run. Plus word will spread, and you can work to build stream viewership which should be you biggest focus aside from running a quality event.
Also as much as you want suggestions come up with a plan/idea and stick to it and then get suggestions after. You've changed this tournament every time a new person posts an idea. You can't make everyone happy, so although it is cool you are aiming to be community driven with suggestions being indecisive will hurt interest and aggregate people.
Good luck, just my 2 cents.
I haven't changed it everytime per say there was some kinks that did need to be worked out, and the site where i posted wasn't really clear on how to post some details. For the prizes that I'm giving away though, minus the entry fee winnings, that is out of pocket already. But a lot of people were saying that wanted to try for cash prizes and such. If people wanted to do free entry plus the winnings I suppose I'd be ok with that. I still for the sake of anything and support to the community would probably do a giveaway on the stream during the tournament that day too.

and thanks FLuE!
