Mothership core really great for defense eh
Textbook counter from zerg, what use is a Purify that lasts 18 seconds of real time and takes ~128 seconds to recharge?
14% uptime is pitiful at best and zerg just walking away, losing a roach (wow, a single roach from 120 supply) and then just walking back 15 seconds later and crushing protoss while mothership core is sat there floating shows how completely worthless it is for defense. It didnt even pay for itself, even though it was created some 3 and a half minutes to build energy before it was used for defense.
Im not questioning the legitimacy of HyuN's dominating win, but that mothership core was hillariously useless in doing exactly what it was designed for

I don't share Khaldors opinion on PvZ being fast and entertaining. I think it's the most stale/boring match-up in the game (the way it's often played now).

Do you mean no "real tournament" as in no Blizzard-sponsored tournament? sry truely bad english there!! This is just something that bothers me all the time. Invites are killing this "esport". I just don't get it why people do invite only tournaments at the very beginning of a "nearly" new game. For real, who knows how good they are really? Don't you think there are already other players out there that got a good idea bout hots? That's what I intentially wanted to say. Sorry for misunderstanding.
I agree with you to a certain extent. Invite tournaments generally give the same players the limelight all the time. However, invitational tournaments are the easiest tournaments to structure, they generally provide really good entertainment, thus creating high viewing figures.
I am organising an invitational just now (see this thread), but I most certainly plan on doing open tournaments.

we are running both types of tournaments and we might thinking about switching ZOTAC Cup to Heart of the Swarm Beta but at first there have to be enough players with access to the beta. At the moment it doesn't make any sense to create a HoTs beta open tournament.

beasty could just push and kill inori, he's up 50 supply
and then that happened.

dont underestimate the power of protoss MCDayC
aaaand delivered

Nah, that was like the worst possible max vs max engage for Beasty, and it still came out even supply afterwards.
Tanks targetting pylons, no observers sniped, widow mines not pre burrowed, tanks all clumped together, whole army pinned against a wall
Beasty dun goofed
|
the widow mines were burowed. he lost his 50 supply lead to get even and its "ok"?
you cant engage protoss at all with mech right now. you always need 8 ghosts 20 battle hellions 20 vikings etc

like RIGHT THERE, really good positioning, spread tank line, a couple of widow mines got off on clumps, and now the supply is almost equalised.
Of course, Beasty's had his economy ravaged, so inori massively remaxed, and Terran can do nothing, but still.

inori could have amoved and win easily. at this stage he needs a ton of ghost

mech still has problems vs toss, I think widow mines cost maybe a bit too much supply, etc etc, but imo its not all the doom and gloom that some people think.
Also, I thought that game was pretty cool, from a spectator point of view, getting the tank lines set up and the widow mines placed has a lot of tension, and inori used a lot of drops to break Terran's economy.

trading a lot of gas-expensive units for zealots isnt "coming out slightly behind". he had no money to build an army after you lost the first one. you will get rolled

Where mech fails 1-1-1 still works.
|
@EmpireBeastyqt hots mech is as awful as in wol

So it looks like Morrow is switching back to Terran completely with HotS? Every time I see him, he's playing T.

I don't know how this will end, but I am loving how it looks.

Blizzard seems to want to keep widow miens at 2 supply but get them to a point where they are worth the 2 supply. I think it's the worse choice. I'd love low supply mine field instead of huge damage single mine. :/
