Looks pretty awesome. Nice to see a tournament based fully on qualifications (since so many people complain about invite only tournaments).
This looks soo good, and nice to see that TaKeTV will host this.
I will take part in some of the qualis for sure!
Yey more open tournaments sighed up also Acer ftw!
there arent nearly enough events in berlin so thats nice, even though im not too excited about the location of a saturn store :p
I thought to myself : " Why he is showing the Saturn at Alex ? " when acer was the sponsor until I realized it was the place where the finals was held.
hope to see you all playing our qualifications and probably even beeing around in berlin to cheer for some players and hang around with everyone <3
Some pretty notable players signed up so far: qxc hasu darkforce fuzer strelok cloud LZ xlord bly theStC DarkHydra DieStar Satiini sYz BabyK Targa sjow STW (just a few of the more popular/GM names I recognize) I didn't spend long looking so no offence to anyone I missed!
Please cast Fuzer games if possible, would be awesome!!!!!!
edit: Great game vs TargA!!!! <3
bo5 between fuzer and hyun.. 2-1 in favor of fuzer!
Where are the brackets for this?
fuzer looks to be taking the 3-1 over Hyun 0.0
Wow 3-1 Fuzer ! Did he meched every game ?
Thank you!
And big grats to Fuzer :>

Sage 3-1 Targa, Sage is the next qualifier.

just a great tourney, love it!

So that was qualifer #4 I guess?

Dear Take, is there a way I can secure restreaming rights to provide commentary in spanish for this event?

GoOdy vs ClouD
HERE! WE! GO!
There couldn't be a better final :D Will ClouD beat his arch nemesis tonight?
I thought Goody would take that one with his secret base and supreme bfh harass
I hate this goody bashing... no one off these bashers has nearly won as much tourneys and money like goody.
Monchi, gewinn mal was und dann darfste auch goody bashen.
I don't understand german but it sounds like they are constantly making fun of Goody for being supply blocked even though Cloud is doing far worse in that matter.
Oh well, Goody is clearly playing better so far in this series - 2-1
I've never seen Goody on the other hand flaming someone. He is always friendly to his opponents. I think its a ego thing that people with a big ego who lose to Goody start flaming because they can't accept their losses.
It quite funny to see Goody winning with mechanics of Platinum league. His understanding of the game is just better
Goody received a proper beating in g4. Ouch.
Ace match gogo!

i don't really mind it when they're just making lighthearted jokes and stuff, but when Monchi said Goody's macro is so bad because "his fingers are so fat he touches 3 keys at once" that was really embarassing -.-

Great to see cloud taking the tournament down, keep it going!

OMG Cloud won against Goody, congrats !

Tight finals and congratulations to Cloud. Too bad the mocking left a bad taste.

pretty sure today's event is supposed to be 1700 CET not 1700 KST
...also, What happened that Dimaga is replacing Satiini?
First Qualifier starts today 9.00 and the second at 15.00
So if there are two qualifiers, only the winner of every qualifier gets into the real tournament? And I'm guessing everyone playing the first qualifier is also eligible to play the second one?
The bracket for the first qualifier has been updated btw: http://taketv.net/cups/bracket/index/show/id/44/json/embed
I tried to update the bracket on liquipedia as well but I don't know the race and the nationality of about half the players participating, so if anyone could help out there that would be great.
"Six online qualifiers will be held. Each one will grant the winner a spot in the offline finals and 200 €. The last qualifier will be held offline at the venue, one day before the main event will be held. It will grant both finalist a spot in the event. The eight qualified players will play a single elimination bracket. "
Guess that's not right as they're holding a second qualifer.

He should´nt have been so unsure, where to move his amry, like Take and Hasu pointed out, he probably would have won a basetrade. But I guess that is easy to say, when you know, where Snutes drones were.

I just think it's ridiculous how Sage had so much better multitasking than Snute and completely outplayed him and then can't win a fight but has to base trade. I would never switch to Toss because even Zergs who are much worse than you can beat you with BL/Infestor simply because the army is so much stronger.
Snute just camped in his base, lost all his bases, got completely outplayed but then just a moved to victory. I see no skill in that and really can't respect zerg players for winning games vs. much better opponents.

I think you watch it a bit to much from one side. Snute stole 2 vortexes ( or whatever the plural is), had the concave in the final engagement and blocked Sages Archons with living forcefields (Inf. terrans). (Edit: And his broods were spread the entire time) Although the MU is´nt as good as it could be right now and altohugh I still think Sage would have deserved a win there, it´s not that Snute did´nt make things work for him as well.

So stealing 2 vortexes and having a good concave should make up for getting outplayed for 10 mins? The protoss basically outplayed the zerg for ever and all it takes is 1 neural to compensate for everything that has happened...
ridiculous
Snute had already built up a superior army because he was better the first part of the game, and Sage killing all those drones only let Snute get an ever better army by freeing supply. Sage definitely looked more impressive, but those drops didn't do anything against Snute's army. Don't forget that Sage lost a lot of HTs, stalkers etc in the process of harassing as well, trading army for economy, which wasn't really that important for Snute to have in the end as all could see

No, it should´nt. That´s why I said I would have prefered, that Sage would have won. But I am just saying, that not every random master Zerg could have pulled that of. And can you really blame Snute? Should he switch races or build Hydra/Ultra, because Blord/Infestor is a bit strong right now?

EDIT: Goody just said, that he prefers to play all matchups in a tournament. Else he would need a lot of builds, because people would figure it out in the tournament, if you only have a few.
That is a different view. Often times it is said in casts, that it might be better to prepare for only one matchup.

Hasu's blink micro during the almost-0-supply-stage of the game was absolutely brilliant, too bad it didn't work out in the end. WP both!
Forced to defend at two very far apart bases, Sage's zealot harass proved to be slowly whittling away at Hasu's economy. The final engagement showed two immortals getting forcefielded and picked off for free, giving Sage a big enough army advantage to push through for a victory!
Sage wins! Score now 2-2
Sage went nexus first into forge and one cannon for defense, then followed up with gateway. Hasu played standard, getting a twilight council until scouting the nexus first, then chrono boosted gateway tech, cancel twilight, and started putting multiple pylons in Sage's base. Sage's defense with two gateways (and no warpgate) managed to be enough, and he held off the pressure with two bases and many more probes.
if hasu goes 3 gates then twighlight, this pylons make sense. but the other way round, as seen, it doesn't work most of the time. He should just have gone with blink obs into the main. T.T great series!
Hasu followed up with blink, robo, and expand, but Sage's robo tech is faster, finishing thermal lance by the time hasu finished his robo support bay. Hasu's blink harass didn't seem to do enough damage, and with Sage's superior economy he managed to turn it into a superior army, pushing in for the win.
Sage wins 3-2
Hasu's not happy with that loss tt

gg Cloud. 1 more and no more zergs.
Wp by cloud! Just 1 more game now
Game 2, Snute v Cloud Snute did a 2/2 muta baneling bust off of a healthy 4 base economy. Cloud, with a good simcity and tank positioning, defended with ease off his 3 bases. After the bust, snute lost twice the amount of resources as Cloud, and with a strong counter push Cloud cinched a win.
score now 1-1
Game 3, Snute v Cloud
Snute did a two base speed roach timing attack, but with two sieged tanks and a banshee with marine support, Cloud managed to defend the push even with a 3 cc build.
Because Snute didn't over-commit to his attack like last game, he was able to defend a similarly timed tank marine push from Cloud, even though he lost several burrowed infestors for free due to a well timed scan. With four saturated bases to three, it looks like Snute's game to lose.
On November 17 2012 02:56 Jesushooves wrote: it looks like Snute's game to lose. He's doing exactly that though. Not engaging well at the moment!
Snute sent too many units to harass, losing several more burrowed infestors and lings for minimal damage. This allowed Cloud to have a much larger army, even if a smaller economy, enabling him to take out Snute's fourth while he was transitioning to Ultralisks.
Can't believe he almost threw this game. Almost as bad as his game against mana at Homestory Cup
Snute finally managed to break out, and with Cloud mining off of only a few mineral patches, with only two orbitals, Cloud is forced to lift off a cc to continue mining. Unfortunately the location was covered in creep, delaying his economy even more. With a huge army and economy advantage, Cloud was forced to tap out.
Snute 2-1 Cloud

Night before I flew to Berlin, I had a quite bad fever. Woke up next day, exhausted, tried to play a few games, couldn't eat any food, head hurt, but yeah, got on the evening plane. Landed, rushed to the direct train to Alexanderplatz and found my way to the hostel to sleep.
Was sharing room with 3 other guys. Cool enough, okay standard at the place, seemed right. The guys were friendly and chill. Was getting ready to sleep ASAP, being sick n tired from fever+travelling. Had to wake up rly early next morning, didn't know exactly when to show up at the venue.
At 11 PM though, they decided they wanted to start brewing some drugs before going out to party. Pulled up a lighter, gathered around the table, turned on some gangsta music on a trebly smartphone and started rolling something with stuff from plastic bags or whatever. FMLed to myself and had 0 energy to bitch about it. They were leaving shortly after and i found peace n fell asleep, but around 2 AM or so they came back, made a lot of noise and brewed some more while whispering something like "pussy pussy pussy" or whatever :D they smoked some more and the room was stinking of green, just lied there with my slowly fading sickness/fever and it took about 1 hr for me to fall asleep. They fell asleep 5 mins after smoking ofc, so I had to listen to them getting their beauty sleep while being robbed of my own :d
Woke up next morning at 8, head was pounding like fuck, still not good, and the room was still full of green. Went for a no choice ice cold shower, back to grab my stuff. Still being sick (fortunately not fever-bad though) I tried my best to play in semi-shit condition. But oh man, being at the venue was like heaven in comparison so I was just happy to be there haha.
good experience overall though, just that i'll never share rooms with complete strangers again xd
Clothes still smell of weed -_-)
